Per page rate for company writers? Fixed or not?

As an American and a good writer, how much can I expect to earn per page writing for essay companies?

Fixed Fluid CPP RateWhat's fair pay for model essays?

I've never been paid to write an essay, either by an individual or a company. I'm currently interested in making some extra money doing so, but having no experience I don't know what kind of pay is fair and what's a ripoff. I guess as long as it's enough that it was worth my time is all that matters, but of course I don't want to work for way lower pay than I could be making. Any input would be appreciated.

ADDED:

How is it possible that some companies offer fixed rate per page (the final rate depends on the deadline) and others don't?

Does it depend on the company's policy and strategy, I guess? Writers always work on per-page rate so who cares :) Or it may depend on the country and laws where the writing business is located?

I am not so sure with per page but other essaywriting companies pay as much as $70 to well over $1000USD per project. $10 per page or so seems average.

From my point of view I prefer non-fixed rates (the company has to do a little work to send a quote and I know they at least read the requirements of the assignment). When you are in a hurry fixed rates might work, though.

depending on complexity and deadline, expect anywhere from $6 to $20 per page. watch out for companies offering orders below $5/page.

I usually go for a minimum of $15 per page because I believe my time and knowledge is worth at least that. I will bid for easier topics and still have the minimum price of $15 per page because if you want me to write for you I must be paid what I believe I am worth.

Working for $6/page is slave labor. I believe the industry average on the low-end is $10-$12 a page. That is the minimum you should ask for...unless you have no skills and are worth a mere $6/page.

I do think that $10 per page is the minimum for a skilled writer and native speaker, although what some of these companies are offering is a disgrace.

That's alright. Every writer has the liberty to offer their services for a certain price. No doubt $6 and the like is really too low to work as a writer.

Of course, this time of year not too much is happening at all in the essay-writing business.

A reputable academic outsourcing company will pay upwards of $25 per page. A scam could pay as little $1.00 per page. It all depends upon the type of writing company that the writer is attached to. A scam, is a waste of time in terms of wages. The salary is not fixed because the "complexity" of the order dictates the total price that the company charges. The company knows how much they charge but they do not let the writers know the full cost of the paper. The company shows the writer only the amount they are willing to pay for the total order. The writer has a "take it or leave it" choice in this instance. More often than not, the unsuspecting writer "takes it" because he needs the work. A writer attached to a company will see some of his wages increasing depending upon the rate of his "promotion" in the company. So the cost or price per page is not fixed. If the writer is unlucky, the company will even implement a "lowest bidder" method in the server to make the payments go even lower for the writer per page.

The payments for writers in a company should be based on the actual writing skills of the writer, his ratings score, and his relationship with the writing company. While the Asian companies tend to drive slave wages, legitimate companies do not shortchange their writers. The legitimate companies know how to pay the writers based on the quality of their work and their cooperativeness with the company. It is something that cannot really be priced in a tangible basis for me, unless I know the writer and his work experience on a personal basis.

It is not right to make others think that they are being paid improperly by their companies based upon the declaration of earnings by the writers in this thread. To each his own writing skill, to each his own value as seen by the employer. So I won't hazard a guess as this point. Instead, I would simply advice the writer to work hard in order to increase his earning potential at the company. It is never going to be on a fixed level because of the reasons I previously mentioned.

There's no standard, per se, but there are ethical figures. In my opinion, any company that pays its writers a few dollars per page has no business being in the business. They're not helping students; they're scamming. They're not hiring writers; they're enslaving. At the end of the day, only you (the writer) can decide what you feel is a fair per page wage. If it on the low end and you can live with it, more power to you.

As a company writer, most of the projects I took paid the maximum my companies paid anybody at the time ($20 except for projects that had bonuses added to them), but only because I specialized in taking rush orders due within 24 hours. Writers weren't "supposed" to do that, but that rule was never enforced to my knowledge.

I agree with a previous comment here mentioning how it's devastating how companies do not really display the true cost of papers - and instead, they bait on writers who would bite a few dollars of pay per page. I had attempted before to place an order in a company I used to work for and found out that the cost of per page was nearly half of what the clients were actually paying. More than that, they kept cutting salaries off their writers. Evade these low-cost, slavery-based companies at all costs.

The amount of money a writer can earn at any given company varies. While the CPP can change per order, what does not change is the cap on the writers salaries. The cap depends mostly upon how long the writer has already been attached to the said company and how much repeat business he brings in. The more repeat business, the higher his salary cap. The newer the writer, the less number of return clients he brings in, the lower his salary cap. There is no set income. There is no assurance that a writer will become rich doing this job. However, it is enough to get most of the writer's personal obligations paid. For most writers, that is more than enough reason for them to stick it out with a writing company. That and seasonal bonuses or productivity bonuses based on the company earnings during the year.
