4writers.net hasn't been paying my friend for several months

I have a friend of mine who has been writing for this company and has not been paid for the last several months. Recently, he called me to inform me that his landlord has kicked him out and confiscated his household goods because he has been unable to pay rent for the last couple of months. Right now, he is sleeping out on the streets. So i am asking....has the company paid its writers? If you write for them, please update me on this so that i can inform my friend to check his money. At the same time, i am pleading with the owners of 4writers.net not to be that inhuman...they should pay writers. If you would be interested in helping my friend, let me know.

That's what you get for working for scam companies. It's pretty transparent--they cheat their customers by hiring crappy writers (like you and your "friend"), and they cheat their writers by not paying them. Maybe you and your "friend" should find another industry where someone other than total crooks will hire you.

why? plz tell me why does this happen?

people are not paid for months and keep working... don't you think that doing offline work even if it is the janitorial service would be more profitable?

i'm pretty sure the papers you used to provide were mostly articles from wikipedia processed through a synonimizer, but still why would you bother?

do you really think that even if the owner sees this thread, they will brush away a tear and release all the money they owe your "friend"?

Suckers . . . . Until ESL writers stop being desperate idiots, the fraudulent companies will continue to take advantage of them.

I was just hoping that he/she will be touched.

No one wants to hear about the people you're trying to touch.

I was just hoping that he/she will be touched.

this question was rhetorical. it's clear that you were serious about it.

i'd like to get the answers to the first two:

why you keep working while not being paid? and

don't you think that doing offline work even if it is the janitorial service would be more profitable?

i think these answers are very important for getting an understanding of the kenyan mentality

No, 2Mock is from the Bahamas.
Nice, I think you should rather set up a holiday resort. It will pay better than these shady companies that exploit their writers and rip off their customers. But, you should answer Smirk's questions, I'd also like to know the answers.

Trying to find a good company may be a good strategy but the ultimate source of reward will be your diligence, objectivity and talent. I say that from my own experience because I do not work for any of the so called good companies yet I make a very decent living from freelance writing. I can tell you for sure that even the worst of scam companies tend to respect good qualities when they see them.

Unpaid WriterI appreciate your encouragement. You are giving me workable suggestions unlike some people who are so dismissive. What if there are no enough janitorial jobs here, what should i and my friend do? Feel free to email me specific details about other freelance writing jobs please at johnwalker475@gmail. Remember that we are trying to help my friend and i have already contacted him on some of the suggestions here and his response has been positive so far.

He was hoping that they would pay him eventually.

the papers were mostly articles from wikipedia processed through a synonimizer?

Don't you understand, there was the promise of payment.

do you really think that even if the owner sees this thread, they will brush away a tear and release all the money they owe your "friend"?

I have been fearing that exposing 4writers here is perhaps futile, but who knows, he (the owner) may decide to pay out of humanity.

we are trying to help my friend

He is still out in the streets and have gone without food for the last two or so days.

his landlord has kicked him out and confiscated his household goods because he has been unable to pay rent for the last couple of months.

in which country can such things happen?

if 4writers was his only employer he should be receiving the unemployment benefit

It would be nice to know how things turned out for the OP's friend. Specifically if he finally collected his back pay and if he was able to turn his life around because of it. I hope that he was able to get off the streets in the meantime through the help of his concerned friends. Though I know nothing about this company, the story that was narrated above is highly similar to the experience of some of my writer friends who work for European writing companies. They always got their salary on a delayed basis. However, their delay was normally from a month to a full quarter, never several months.

The fact that this company is still in business 7 years after this post tells me that they manage to scam more and more new writers every year. These are the poor writers who hope to get a start in the business and earn an income only to be treated like a slave with delayed wages. If they pay at all. I guess that is how they manage to keep their company afloat, by not paying their writers salary on time or at all.

I, too, would be interested in knowing the outcome. Hopefully, the OP is in a better place now and, if still writing, are writing for a different company. That said, I'm very concerned at how long they waited (stayed with) the company without pay. After the first pay period passed with no pay and maybe a couple of inquiries (at the most), I would have quit AND reported the company for non-payment. Regardless of where a company is located, it they are doing business with US clients and US writers, there are actions writers can take that will help spark the company to step up for you AND to reduce the risk to other and future writers. Report the website to the FBI and the BBB. While this may not yield the results we hope in terms of these types of companies paying a decent rate and paying it on time, the more complaints, the better. These complaints become a permanent part of the internet and will be seen by others.

If we don't report scams and what constitutes to online sweatshops (paying pennies for hours of work), these scams will continue. Worse, they will thrive. However, by reporting an incident you've personally experienced or are currently experiencing, it may result in the company doing the right thing at this moment. What do I mean? Your complaint may prompt the company to pay what you are owed. Now, that doesn't mean they will or will not do it to another person, but they are going to want to avoid the constant negative information being posted about them. Unlike forums and other places where they can issue a demand for us not to "talk" or "discuss" their business, that BS doesn't work with the FBI or the BBB. Once it's reported, it's a permanent record. Period. Even the companies that are not based in the US. Why? They are doing business IN the US and with US clients and writers.

Guys, we have to start somewhere and letting these scammers prevail is NOT an option. Getting it under control (or at least occurring less often) won't happen overnight, but it WILL happen if we all do our part. If you aren't willing to do your part when you see a scam, then, frankly, you are saying it's okay. Bottom line: it is NOT okay.

Since this company is actually located in Kyiv, it will be easy to understand why they cannot pay their writers. The company owner needs the money himself. Perhaps he works on the premise of "pay oneself first", as most of these type of corporations do. That is the reason why the writers salaries are delayed, and why they find it difficult to pay the writers without tacking fines and penalties on them. They are in the business of not just scamming the client, but scamming the writer as well. That is something I consider unforgivable. An honest day's work for an honest day's wage. That is all the writers want and that is what they should receive. It isn't too much to ask.

They have updated their interface to make it look flashier and more 21st century friendly. They have however, shut down their hiring department for now. They claim that they have hired enough people from certain countries ( I had my international friends login to the site just to be sure), so they are not in the hiring process at the moment. It is funny how they have hired enough writers from all over the globe so they have more than enough writers on staff. I think the reality is that they are close to shutting down and are trying some last ditch efforts to save the company, short of launching their own writing AI app.
