this guy is dealing with my dissertation which is way overdue i have received half of it but he is now ignoring me and i have paid!! My last chance to hand it in is monday and i need it, anyone know how to get hold of him or what i should do? i got him off this site!

There are few legit freelance writers on this forum, you just have to be really careful on who you choose.

One thing you should definitely do is tell the entire forum who it is. For one thing, that's the main purpose of this forum; for another, no legit writers here need him scaring away potential customers who might otherwise choose to contact us unsolicited; finally, it would help other people avoid getting ripped off by the same person. Sorry to hear that because honest, fair writers do exist here too.

EW_writer's private message capability, both sending and receiving, should be turned off. PM ability is a privilege, not a right. EW_Writer continually spits in the moderator's face by BRAGGING about how he is knowingly violating forum rules, frequently posting underhanded ads, and "privately" soliciting commercial transactions.

I guess so, although I'm not obsessed with WB the way you seem to be. I'm sure there are plenty of things WB and disagree about besides this. If a student contacts a writer via PM's, I don't think that violates any forum rules. Obviously, there's no guarantee that the writer is any good or honest, but word of mouth seems to work pretty well around here.

I'm sorry this happened to you. This is exactly why forum visitors should not solicit writers through this forum - there are zero protections or guarantees. I hope you paid by credit card, paypal or some other system that will allow you to get a refund. Get a refund and please post the name of the writer to help warn other visitors (and perhaps get the mod to ban the account).

I am requesting that the mod publicly clarify the rules on solicitations via PM.

My interpretation:

If one member solicits another member for a commercial service, the solicitor is breaking the rules. The solicitee is just as guilty if he/she entertains the solicitation.

If the mod decides that this forum is the place for solicitations, despite the fact that there are literally HUNDREDS of other sites designed for that purpose, I won't type another word about it. The forum will go to hell, and I'll sit back and watch it happen. As soon as the word gets out, and it most definitely will, this forum will be overrun by slimy types who are willing to type whatever lies that they deem necessary to take members' money and run.

NEWSFLASH: You received help from me (and others) in countless posts in which I have reiterated that advertising is not allowed. I've also stated numerous times that members should NEVER solicit or accept work from other members. You either ignored those warnings or did not take the time to read through this forum carefully before throwing away your money. Darn... you really should have been more careful selecting a writer. Still, the time is passed for casting blame. What you could do is ask for an extension from your school. Tell them it got wiped from your computer or something. Present them with anything and everything that you have at the moment as proof that you did do the work already and you just became a victim of unpredictable circumstances. Admit that you were stupid for not keeping a backup. There's a real chance that they'll give you some extension.

Tell them that you misplaced the memory stick and cannot find the final copy. They will give you 3 days. We do that and despite knowing that we are lying, it works every time.

So I'm the reason that you are being nicer? That's awesome, proves that I did some good.

Mifffy, in all honesty, you should probably not plan on receiving the order from this hired writer and look into another option.

How long is your extension? Depending on the topic and the dissertation requirements, you might be able to find another writer to complete the project in a relatively short period of time.

I was concerned that you would burst a vessel in your forehead. I wouldn't want that on my conscience. Plus, it's always interesting to come up with a new way to silence one of my stalkers.

And Mifffy, while I won't recommend a specific company in this post, I would strongly suggest that, if you look to hire someone again, hire through a legit company that will offer more protections for you. As a writer, I'm always leery of directly working with a client b/c of the risk of fraud and, as you can see, that risk hits the client as well.
