Yahoo is not targeting specific sites or companies. Advertising essay services is now against the editorial guidelines and all writing services are now banned from buying traffic. Google did the exact same thing last year. It just means that you can no longer advertise these type of services directly and you will now have to think outside the box.

Citing when a domain was first registered is meaningless. I could have registered a domain last month, but that doesn't mean I've been in business for just a month. To find out how long they have been in business, you need to find their company name and then look up when that business was registered with their state/country.

Regarding the "Keywords" being spam, I don't see anything wrong with it. It falls more in line with tagging and web 2.0. Everyone from Flickr, Technorati, Digg, and even Google's Youtube has something similar.

^ From the looks of it, that is a paid for blog posting. With a name like adfunk, that blogger probably makes money by writing reviews for various sites. Not much different than buying advertising.

Google lowered the PR of many blogs a few months back to supposedly discourage people from buying/selling links on blogs for the PR juice. It's not that Google doesn't like people advertising, it's more like they are utterly helpless to stop people from buying the reviews for the SEO benefits.

Essay databases are only good for getting ideas for your own paper. They are the most cost effective solution when your teacher gives general topics because in a database of tens of thousands of papers, it is highly likely there are several papers to provide ideas.

Custom writing comes into play when your teacher gives an assignment with very specific requirements that may not be available in a prewritten paper. Whether to choose a company that has cheaper prices but uses foreign writers or one that uses english writers depends on what you plan to do with the paper. If you plan to use the paper as a model for your own work, grammar, word usage, or spelling mistakes will not matter as long as the writer fulfills the assignment requirements. If you are going to turn in the paper as your own work, you should ask yourself how much your grade is worth.

If you got a paper that was copied from the internet, you should contact the company for a refund. If they do not respond, do a chargeback with your credit card company. Not only will they get the money removed from their bank account, they will also get hit with a chargeback fee from their merchant bank.

On the other hand, if you had gotten expelled for turning in a paper that was not yours, you would have totally deserved it.

The ironic thing here is if the (ESL) writer or the company is not a US citizen or a US based company, none of those laws would apply to them. Not only that, these are not even federal laws, but state ones.

How is the comment not relevant? You stated that it is against the law in just about every state to enable students to commit academic fraud by guaranteeing a certain grade or having blank lines for the student to enter his and the teacher's names. I'm just saying since the states do not have jurisdiction in other countries, the company nor the writer will be guilty of any crime unless there is a similar law in their country. In other words, the company will not be shutting down or the writer be going to jail. This is entirely different from getting their sites banned from the Google SERPs. Now, if a company depends on something as fickle as their search rankings on a search engine to acquire customers, their business model is flawed to begin with.

PS.. online gambling is also illegal in the US yet poker sites are still all over the Google search results.

If those fraudulent essay sites' sole source of traffic is from their search rankings, then yes it is. There is simply no guarantee that a site will be top ranked for a certain keyword forever. They could have the best SEO available but they will always be one algorithm update away from losing all their traffic if they have all their eggs in that one basket. Maybe some people would think differently, but I prefer to be diversified and have traffic also coming from places I can control.

My point about online gambling is that just because something is illegal in the US, it doesn't mean Google won't list it in the search results. When you add fraudulent essay companies that misrepresent where they are located, then yes, this is different. If this was the case, they are probably better off not even bothering to mention they use ESL writers on the website.

If you are fluent in 6 languages, I can tell you aren't American. Most Americans only know two languages: English and bad English. ;)

If you want something done right, you are unfortunately going to have to do it yourself. You cannot expect some anonymous person who's working from home and you have never met to write you a Grade A paper because it is not their grade on the line. Their main goal is to write an acceptable paper as quickly as they can and then go on to the next order because they are paid by the page.

The car analogy is a pretty bad example. Yes, no manufacturer will lie about where a vehicle was made but except for where the company is based, there is a very good chance a car is assembled elsewhere. BMW may be German, but they have a huge assembly plant in Spartanburg, SC. Mercedes Benz? M-Class plant is in Alabama. Toyota? Texas, Mississippi. GM? They've got a plant in Mexico.

You say you want to support the US economy? You can buy from an American owned company. You will also be supporting the economy buying the BMW that was produced with American labor.

If this question is about plain old outsourcing, lets assume (because this would be impossible otherwise) the essay I bought from the American company is the exact same paper I would have gotten from the non-American company. Here, I would buy American.


Lets assume again both papers are exactly the same. In this instance I would buy from the non-American company. I would probably buy from the non-American company up to about $275. Above that, it would not be worth the possible hassles going with the offshore company. I'll take that $25 I saved and buy a 1/4 tank of gas.


It is not the sites or companies themselves that are providing the shoddy work. All they do is accept the money and forward your order along to a writer. You can get a bad paper from both American and non-American companies. The fault lies with the writer that does the actual work.

Assuming an American company charges between $15 to $20 a page for a $300 paper, a $25 difference comes out to a $1 to $2 difference per page. For a company using foreign writers, the price difference would have to be more than that to make it worthwhile to use them because a couple dollars is hardly a deal breaker.


I don't see what my home country has to do with this, but I am indeed American. I also did not immigrate here nor did I sneak across the border from that country to the south. If being born here isn't enough, and driving an American-made car by an American-owned company does, I've got that covered too. In regards to bagging on Americans, nothing I've said hasn't already been said elsewhere or can't be backed up with some simple searching. As for my generally "negative" outlook on the industry, my opinion on this is I could care less where or who wrote the essay as long as it answers all the questions in the assignment and is delivered as scheduled. Grammar, spelling, or regional styles from an ESL writer mean nothing to me because I will be using his/her paper to write my own from scratch.


But are they getting the orders at those prices? With competitive bidding, there are always people charging very high fees and people with very low ones. So what should you do? Avoid the two extremes and find something in the middle.

The semester is just about over for most colleges and universities in the US. Many schools are having their commencement ceremonies in the next week or two.

Look on the bright side.. being a US corporation makes them liable to US laws. With America being so lawsuit happy, I would rather be offshore.

Your experiment would have worked better if you did not publicly post about applying to the various sites until after you were accepted or rejected. Since this is an open forum, you do not know who could be reading this thread and could end up affecting the experiment's results.

If you go back to the first post of this thread, it was about the customer placing an order and not getting the paper in time and the company asking for more extensions. It is not really about ESL writers because this has nothing to do with the quality of the writing performed; they did not even start the work. The issue at hand is about the paper not being delivered on time.

It doesn't really matter where the company is located or what kind of writers they use, there will always be orders that are late because you are dealing with writers who are contractors and not employees. Since they do not get a regular paycheck, their earnings depends on the number of orders they complete. So what happens is, you get a writer who tries to maximize their earnings by taking on several orders, with the orders prioritized by the due dates so they will have a continuous amount of work. Then life happens and they miss one deadline, which affects the starting of the other orders and before they know it, they are monumentally screwed. Meanwhile, on the company's system, those particular orders are marked as assigned, so no other writer can take them, and if the first writer doesn't sign back on in time to release your order back into the pool, or if they release it too late for another writer to be able to finish the work in time, you are out of luck. And don't try telling me a reputable essay company will limit the number of orders a writer can take, because as a contractor, they will just sign up and work for several sites.

The original poster shouldn't have to post evidence because he wasn't directing his accusation at a specific site. If you find prewritten papers for sale on a site and they are also doing custom writing, of course they are reselling the papers. Why wouldn't they? The customer doesn't own the copyright to the work. The writing company does and that lets them resell the paper. Sales of prewritten papers are pure profit because they no longer have to give a cut to the writer. The question is how long until they put the paper up for sale? Ideally, it should be at least after the current semester is over. But does it matter? The student shouldn't be turning in the paper anyways.

I guess you lurkers who are writing company owners should be glad I'm not in the custom writing business because I would have priced custom papers just enough to pay the writers and the credit processing fees and made my profits off the resales. Think about it. Prices low enough to attract the custom writing orders because you aren't making anything off it, but get to resell that paper dozens of times over. Those considering getting into the essay writing business... your business plan is right there. If you make millions, don't forget to give me a cut ;)

I wouldn't consider kareng an "employee". With her post regarding EW not paying her due to plagiarism issues and having to prove that the work wasn't plagiarized; unless proven otherwise, she is just a contractor like all the other writers in the industry. If she was an employee, she would have more likely gotten her paycheck and then fired for the quality of the work. As a contractor, her views / posts doesn't and shouldn't be seen as representing those of BestEssays, SuperiorPapers, and their actual employees.

I disagree with your disagreement... lol. Point being is kareng is a contractor, which lets her work for as many companies as she wants that will put her on their staff. She may write for BestEssays and SuperiorPapers, but she could very well also be writing for a legit top tier company that isn't ripping anybody off. Does having her in their group of writers make them guilty of insulting their customers too?

I thought the gist of this thread, as per your title, was about someone (who is not really considered an employee) insulting customers and Americans by calling them lazy. It evolving into "BestEssays and SuperiorPapers blatantly lying to and ripping off hundreds of customers" shows that the real issue is your disdain for those two sites.
