Government policies in various jurisdictions all over the world usually have an impact on doing businesses at various sectors of the economy. Policies vary with the type of business environment found across nations. Some governments have a tendency to institute policies that hurt small businesses especially where big businesses have an absolute dominance. In the US the question that comes to mind is: how do government policies influence small businesses in America?

The author's extensive experience and the use of primary data act as his reference point. This study is important for small businesses in knowing how to navigate government policies and regulation in a market that is not so free.
