To all Kenyan writers, it is the high time you said NO to intimidation. I am not a writer but I do feel pity for writers who find no space in the writing industry despite their wish to. I am your fellow Kenyan who feels that some guys squeeze you to the corners of intimidation. Please stand your ground.
Note: I manage many writing sites and 80% of the writers on those sites are Kenyans. Why? Because most of those Kenyan writers who have chosen writing as their career do write quite well, and because you live in a country whose life is not expensive (meaning you can accept few bucks per page). This is the report I was analyzing today from most of the sites that I manage.

Note: Kenyans really have a great strength that they have failed to utilize over years. The major weakness is that Kenyans do not want to spend and hire a programmer to code a site for you to receive writing orders directly from clients. Even if you try doing this, you fail to hire an SEO expert to make your sites rank on top positions on Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc. In addition, those who have tried doing these, do not want to be honest. When you start your writing site, you need to tell clients that you are a Kenyan and surprise the client with excellent work at a lower cost than an American. This will allow you get orders from many countries like Australia, Philippines, India, Pakistan, UAE.
Point to note: Over 80% of orders come from ESL countries and the clients have worse English than that of Kenyans. Therefore, being honest will deny you only 20% of the orders. Do you understand how being genuine can earn you great income.
Note: Those orders from America and UK are usually ordered by immigrants who just want to meet the requirements of their EFL professors. Therefore, your English level is still adequate because the professors will not expect too much from an ESL student. You just need to be better than the student, which most Kenyans are.
Note once more: Why I exist in this forum is because I am programmer and SEO expert who manages most writing sites that are run by people in Ukraine, USA, Kenya, India, China, Russia, and UK.
All I can advise Kenyan writers is to own their sites and be honest to their clients. You will be surprised when you charge around $7-20/page and receive the money immediately to your bank without waiting for a week or two to be paid by a third party.
Get serious Kenyans. Stop wasting your ability writing for sites that scam you and delay your payments (you should have known that the site-owner receives money even before the order is taken by a writer).
Own a website and receive even if it is 2 orders per day that are directly paid to you. Specialize on what you write on and you will never have problems in this industry.
Thanks for reading.
