I've been helping students with research and writing for the past few years. Now I have a chance to apply for an editor position in a local newspaper. Should I include on my resume that I've been an example research writer / editor or it's not a bright idea?
What's the best way of describing what we do? Obviously, I didn't work with clients who wanted to cheat the system, but I cannot guarantee some of them used my example work in an inappropriate way.
I guess I'll include something like:
Example Academic Paper Editor and Assistant - helping students research, edit, and complete academic writing tasks for reference purposes
Is it fair enough?

The connotation of the world "consultant" is one with numerous years of experience and multiple clients that currently exist in his pool that he can bring with him to his new workplace. Since he is applying for a writing job at a not so well known firm, it would be best to lower expectations and position descriptions in order to at least, give himself a fighting chance in the application process.
