UVO/Academic Expert Forum

Not sure what to make of this....except that it's just more ********.

UVO and Academic Expert have launched a forum (I'm not sure when; I just got an email in error from the UVO admin that led me to it) where writers can complain about things like not getting paid, not getting orders, etc. Not that it'll do much good.

If anyone wants to check it out and/or register to aid in the trash talking, the site is called gradlancer--Google will take you there.

What's wrong with this one?

ULO - please read Asian Writer's posts and study them as an example of ESL writers who have earned a place in the industry because

1) educated
2) know the language

This is the "sad sad sad" plight of qualified ESLs... that we will always be grouped with these guys. I'm sorry if my last statement seemed presumptuous. I may not be as good as the other writers here, but I'm definitely better than those guys in the other forum... with the exception of pheelyks, of course.

I don't expect my account with the gradelancer forum to last very long...my posts are not exactly constructive for the company hosting the site.

You are not being presumptuous and thank you for understanding that this is not about ESL writers, per se. It is about the ability to write, irrespective of nationality!

Actually, there are plenty of the usual complaints on the forum. They just all come from writers with no chance of landing a legitimate job, so they're all still hanging on with the company and hoping things turn around...after three years of complaints. It isn't just their English that's bad, it's their overall thinking.

I was sent a revision request at 9PM EST with a seven hour deadline (order#2092038).
I am only required by contract to check my email twice a day - and had checked my email at 9am, 12pm and 6pm.
I was informed of the revision request, the deadline already having expired, when i checked my email the next morning at 8am.
The revision was completed ASAP - i.e. before 10am the next morning.

As far as i can tell, revisions are supposed to have a 24hr deadline. I was not even given 18hrs. Furthermore, the 7hrs were not working hours in my timezone, which academicexperts.us if fully aware of.

I would like to contest the fine i have incurred on order #2092038 due to this problem. I have replied to the email informing me that i was late, but have yet to receive a response - it has now been 48hrs and i have rec'd a subsequent email informing me of the dollar amount of my fine. I further contested the actual revision request - which demanded work that was not in the original paper details, however, i completed the required work nonetheless.

I would very much like to feel that i can get a night's sleep without having my hard-earned money disappear in 15% increments during my slumber. Is more than 7hrs of revision time such an unreasonable request?

Dear writer,

Am sorry for this situation. Unfortunately we do not have 24 hours revision rules and demand writers to complete revisions by the indicated deadlines, unless the deadline can be prolonged.

Anyway, I will make sure any fines are removed since you have completed the paper and the customer was more than satisfied. Sorry this came to me that much late.

You have to realize that you must be visiting you order page regularly and some revision are 1hr only. there is no issue of time zone for customers and we have to give them quality work. remember, "The customer is alway right"

So Basically, if you work for UVO or Academic Experts, you are expected to wake up and check your order page at least once every hour to make sure there are no revision requests. And because the customer can set the deadline and make a revision request for any reason--including a change in topics or additional instructions not included in the initial description--you could be entirely screwed for a paper you completed perfectly. What a great company to work for!

"The customer is always right" my a$$--it's a way for the owners and admin to line their pockets with ridiculous fines. They know this policy is unfair and ridiculous, yet they explicitly defend it. Also note the near month it took this person to get a response--and he/she is obviously one of the better writers working for them.

So true. Strange thing is that they are quite shameless about it all.

Thats very true about this company. Am shocked to hear am not the only affected by this. Unfortunately, you have to write on either order message area or email them of which they never reply. I haven't had much problems with them, but i trust their most writers are from Kenya and some parts of Asia. Are they based in UK or in the US.

Thanks writersBeware. Am a Kenyan working for them, though i don't doubt my capability, they should not be ashamed of stating their location if they are doing genuine business, but anyway, they know the exact reason of hiding their location.

As I've said to many others, your English is definitely decent for holding conversations, but is far too poor for you to be writing professionally.


No legitimate site will hire you until your grammar and word usage improves--it means hard work and study for you, if you really want to pursue this.

Well, am an ESL though did my degree in US. I know i have a lot to do to improve my english, but better grammar a lot does not qualify one to be a writer. Pheelyks, consider not all disciplines that command perfect english, like Maths, chemistry and physics, they don't necessarily need one to have good command in language but perfect knowledge on what you are doing.

I'd still appreciate if you let me know those sites.

This is the same thing a lot of other ESl writers who can't construct a decent sentence say. When it comes to laboratory work and solving equations, you're right. But when it comes to writing papers, proper grammar IS essential, no matter what the topic is. How many chemistry experiments have you completed as an academic writer?

Writing is about communicating ideas; yes, you have to know the idea you are communicating fairly well, but it is vastly more important that you can communicate it well. I get As on papers that are complete b*lls-i* because I know how to write. It's that simple.

I am completely fed up

I am a new writer with academicexperts. But, I must categorically state that I am completely fed up with the bidding and order allocation process. I picked my first order on the 15th of June this year and worked on four orders that month and then in July I was assigned two orders and one order in August. What is quite frustrating is that after uploading my last order on the 5th of August I have not been assigned any single order since then, though I have been bidding for orders which would have been over two hundred now. Please I would like other writers to share their opinion and experience on this as I am totally frustrated. I have complained to support about it and I must really commend them on their timely response and they have assured me that there be a great flow of orders in the hot season. I would also like the management of this forum to look into this, my ID is A3150. Thanks for your attention

Hint: stop working for ****** companies. Work hard to make your English better. Then maybe you can find work at a legitimate company.

The writing companies that have earned their reputation as penalty crazy when it comes to writers fees have launched similar forums over time. some of them have it locked to within their system and open only to member writers. Others, use an open supten since they also use the forum to poach writers. There is just one thing the writers should know, the forum is just a venting system. Do not expect the company to listen or take action. They are just pretending for the sake of being able to say they have open communication channels with their writers. It means nothing.

The site was originally - meant to bea competitor to ES. The owners tried to copy the format to the point that they allowed users to offer writing services, which is where the similarities diverged. If this was the same company that used a .co.uk address until 2016, then the company has gone belly-up. Even as the company is officially out of business, the social media accounts remain active. They may still be in business then, just not officially. I would not recommend finding out though. They made unbelievable claims of putting companies in touch with qualified students, while hawking academic writing services instead. Confusing right? At least we need not worry about them anymore.
