I don't believe that there is a relationship between your stating your preferred payment method and their deactivating your account. Academia-Research is not good but, it does not operate the way you have described. Furthermore, why did you email your preferred payment method? You are supposed to enter that info on the site itself.

Academia-Research does not check assignments, whether for quality or originality. The complaints from customers might have come in after they assigned you the 4th and 5th orders.

The question is, did you or did you not plagiarise? If you plagiarised, they can withhold payment.

They did not tell me that I could plagiarise. They assigned me an order which had been botched up one of their writers. When I checked the write up, I discovered that the other writer had, indeed, plagiarised. When I told them about it, they told me to ignore it and just do the revisions which the customer had requested.

Supposing that they deactivated your account and withheld payment on an order you had plagiarised - they are acting within their rights. If you plagiarised one order and they withheld payment on several orders, they are definitely robbing you.

Could you please post the order they accused you of plagiarising here?

Do you have the payment receipt? Take a look at it and note the name of their payment processor - Swreg, Authorize, PayPal, etc? Write to their payment processor and give them the following info:

1) the vendor's name - in this case, dissertation-help
2) your receipt/order # (along with a copy)
tell them that you did not receive the goods you paid for and need an immediate refund. Cite vendor fraud and violation of contractual agreement. Most comply within 48-72 hours.

Do not wait for dissertation-help to get back to you. Had they wanted to issue a refund they would have done so and, upon your demand, provided you with the necessary proof (such as refund order #).

Because there's nothing "false, inaccurate, [or] misleading" in the above :)

Yes, if you can establish malice, injure to trade and/or person and, importantly, that reasonable-minded members of society may find the accusation believable. In other words, even though no reasonable-minded person would ever believe the Abnormal's accusations, her malicious intent is clear. While forum names cannot be libelled, the Abnormal named certain companies and repeatedly accused them of wrongdoing without any evidence (and despite all evidence to the contrary).

Lobinho - the no recommendations policy serves the best interest of customers, not writers. You should support, not object to it. The fact is that most here are freelancers and only a mere handful is any good. For your own sake, do not follow any PM recommendations as you are very likely to land a substandard writer. The truth is that no good writer will ever accept payment after delivery (they don't need to) and will not need to trawl this forum in search of customers. There are some good writers here but you won't find them pm'ing you. The PMs you get will only be from the desperate ones.

Students turn to these services because they really need help. Many of them work part-time and don't have a lot of money to throw around. They are, in essence, being exploited and robbed of their money. What gives any the right to do that?

Websites should not be allowed to lie about who they are and, definitely, have no business hiring barely qualified writers who are incapable of writing a single, coherent, sentence.
