there will be some benefits if you choose to store the paper in the db.

Such as? A checkbox won't help if you sell the paper 1-2 years from the submission date.

but about my project, is there anything you would want or look for in a plagiarism scanner?

Strong privacy statement that the paper will not be used by you or your affiliates in any way now and in the future.

Students should know that when submitting their papers to any "anti-plagiarism" website, they risk the paper will be sold or used without their consent.

For now your oral statement that "you don't need our papers and won't use them" is a joke. Especially that you have connections to people who are storing and selling pre-written papers on their websites.

it NEVER shows an plagiarism.

If it doesn't show plagiarism in your thesis so why do you think you got scammed..? Maybe the document was saved on a public computer in a library. Most students here would actually be happy to receive a paper that cannot be detected by anti-plagiarism software ;). If I was a student, I'd take the paper and run away (glad I'm not though ").

If it was 1995, I would probably stay on their site one minute. 13 years later it's not worth to even look at this. A "company" using a free email account and free shared hosting account on a subdomain? Where are their contact details other than a free email account?

It was probably created and run by a freelance writer, that's all.

Most of the times I smile when I hear a writing company claims it uses "their own plagiarism scanner." It's like they claimed they use their own, privately-developed search engine which is at least comparable to Google. How can you compare billions of documents already posted online in many different formats using your own "plagiarism scanner"?

Hard to believe that. If they claim to use turnitin or similar systems that store the submitted essays on their servers (one submission is enough to do that), it wouldn't make sense at all. Because the next time another person submits the essay, it shows as "plagiarized." It's like if I wanted to prove the egg is not broken by breaking it :).

Maybe not working for them would be a good start. Not sure if possible though if you don't have a backup plan (another job).

So can somebody tell me about his/her experiences with the mentioned company?

I could register a new username, contact the companies you inquire about and ask about their affiliate program and commission rate if I promote them and you end up ordering from one of them ;).

Anyway, here are the things you need to understand when choosing an essay writing service.

1. Essay writing company is as good as the worst writer of that company. When ordering an essay your main concern should be how good YOUR assigned writer is. The company itself does not write essays for you, ONE writer does.

2. 99% of all essay writing companies (or all of them) hire freelance writers.

That means the writers do not work in the company's office - they work from home. Otherwise, you'd have to pay $80 per page or more.

--------
If you remember these two points, you will realize how important the customer service is for an essay writing company. Moreover, I can go as far that I can say a good customer service/competent coordinators are the most important people of an essay writing company.

In case of a problem, the customer service people are the ones that can help you resolve the problem. If your writer's computer breaks down, what do you do? - you email the customer service and ask for help. If your project is late or does not meet your instructions, what do you do? - you email the customer service to help you out.

Now, if you claim response-time or competence are not important, you may change your mind when something goes wrong. A good customer service, in case of a problem, can reassign your project to another writer. But if they are unresponsive, incompetent, or slow, you are out of luck :)

Yes, you are right! But a quick reply is only ahint. Why should i make bad experiences if i can avoid it by asking people in this community!

When I order something and send a pre-sale inquiry AND receive a thoughtful and fast response, then - I assume - there are better chances to receive timely support in case of problems.

The good ones seem to be: ukessays.co.uk and custompapers.com. What do you think?

There're no shortcuts - you still ask me what I think even though I don't use such services. ;)

My advice - contact each of them and then you'll get the best initial idea about who they are and what they may represent.

Better yet - send them an email:

"Hi, I'm interested in your services. Could you call me at **** because I'd like to hear what you have to offer."

There's a general rule of thumb that a crappy company hires crappy/incompetent customer service people, so your initial "test" should tell you a lot.

awww major... you missed category "E" : cool writers

Oops, sorry - you're right. ;)

f course, how many businesses can you think of with 100% customer service approval?

That's a good question. If a company has one client a month and s/he is very happy with their product/service, the "approval" rate is 100%. With 100 customers a month there's no way to satisfy everybody.

This reminds me of a similar situation with Google - yet a few years ago their "approval" rate was very high; now, due to privacy concerns, they are not as popular as before. But it doesn't mean people will stop using them :).

But would you really rely on an anonymous post?

Here are the "profiles" of the forum users who visit and post here or on similar websites.

Choose Best WriterA. [Angry] lurkers. They usually already have their favorite essay writing websites they or their friends use. But they still come here from time to time to see "what's up."

They would start posting only if their favorite website failed to meet their expectations. Then they would only mention or shout a negative experience, which may account for only a very small percentage of the total experience.

B. Fake advertisers. They would post as a happy client who has used a particular service and recommends it to others.

C. Malicious company owners/representatives. They would post a negative experience about other writing services without providing a proof of the alleged fault.

D. Genuine users who have first-hand experience with the particular service and who can objectively describe their experience (whether positive or negative).

Regarding your question, I've never used them (I personally don't use such services). But expect to hear from one of the profiles soon -- hopefully you'll be lucky to hear from a D-profile member ;).

My general idea - contact the service you may be interested in and judge them yourself by their comments, response time, politeness, etc.

Here is a bad comment - there may be a person who might have had bad experience about them. But that won't tell you anything, will it?:)

The credit card companies are getting smarter (especially as far as online purchases are concerned). Now you may feel "you did nothing wrong." But did you, really? YOU, for some reason, were the one who out of hundreds of different companies chose the one you bought the service from. You were supposed to do pre-shopping research, not the credit card company. It seems you preferred to pay a few bucks less and chose a more risky route than when ordering from a more reputable company (but for more $$).

Now, if you happen to have such "bad luck" in your further purchases (even though genuinely you may not be at fault), the system "red-flags" you and puts a note: "Warning, unreasonable buyer." There are many little points that make up your credit score and the most important ones are only internally available to your bank and... collection agencies.

I can buy a $500 worth service using my Amex card and lie I have never received the service. If I wanted to do it frequently enough and did not have a reasonable excuse, I'm sure that would be reported to the appropriate institutions (without my knowledge, but with my consent since I have originally approved their TOS, without reading 20 pages of text, of course). After a while they send me a letter "Sorry, we cannot allow you to use our credit card because it appears your credit score is too low." The credit card companies don't want trouble as much as merchants.

I don't know personally any Pakistani company (or offshore company), but my guess is they are and possibly will be less and less competitive -- as long as the US dollar is weak abroad..

Judging by your very poor writing skills (from your emails) it seems hard to believe you would be able to write this paper. Did you submit it as your own without proper referencing?

I'm not sure why they refunded your money, did they provide a reason?

From what I know you should remember these points:

- Cheaper price will usually get you inferior product,

- Customer service - the better their response time and the more helpful their responses, the more chances your paper will be written well and on time. If you want to talk to their operators, will they be able to call you if you live your phone number (that way you may check their location),

- Payment options - if they only use a 3rd party international institutions to process your payment (like 2Checkout) or if they use their own facilities. Do they offer bank transfer options (if they do, they have to provide you with their bank name and location, which could give you an idea where the company might be located).

Essay Services / hi help with custompapers.com [21]

I don't understand what kind of help you expect. My reasoning is that if reporters produce and air a TV show about "Big Cheats on Campus," they would do anything to discredit the writing companies that "help cheat" -- to prove their own point. Otherwise, the message would be that cheating on campus is a good way to earn an academic degree. At least they didn't mention anything about plagiarism.

This is a great post. I would add to the positive signs (it actually should concern all "online employers"):

- There's always someone from the company's staff to assist you if you have a problem with a client or for some reason cannot meet a deadline. If they only say "it's not our problem, you deal with it" -- I would avoid such businesses.

I agree with essayer - ask her groupmates if they could provide you with her alternative contact information. Then again email her at all email addresses you may have and leave the final voice message. If that doesn't help, wait a week and then contact the professor.
