What are you, some kind of white knight? You do other people's homework for them for a living. You don't even balance it out by doing something good or normal in the meantime. And I'm the bad guy? Give it a rest, meat-head! At least I balance my karma.

Just in case no one is familiar with FW, he's a law-school dropout with a master's degree in run-on sentences. He thinks that his past low-level government job churning out lifeless, bureaucratic nonsense has made him God's gift to term-papers. The funny thing is that he's very proud of being a big writer... but all of his masterpieces are unsigned. One theory is that this misplaced pride comes from the fact that he hardly ever sees any of the grades he gets for the pathetic fish who wander into his various nets. You can find him here in his habitat, slime, making unfounded accusations, poaching the confused idiots who come here for help, and occasionally buying ad space with the rest of the cheap scumbags.

It's still cool and breezy in NY, the ad's still up, and, once again, essayscam.org looks ridiculous taking money from the same lying scammers it's supposedly here to expose. Mods, how much does your credibility cost?

Essaypedia, the latest scumbag liars to advertise on this supposed anti-scam site, has a fake Better Business Bureau logo on their webpage, claims to be located in London, promises grades, and didn't spell "Great Britain" right in their ad. Way to go, mods!

Chatting with a live agent about the misspelling-- "We are on the market for more than 5 years. If you have noticed such a mistake, it is good and thank you for telling us this. It can be just a typo."

I am 99% sure that their end-site is academia-research.com.

The first business I worked for in this industry was run by an American who graduated from an American college.

He wasn't the best speller, and liked to pinch a penny, and as a result, his website looked like it had been made by a 9-year-old.

His writers were all experienced professionals; his business was not a scam. His website simply sucked.

How many great books have you read that had crappy industry blurbs on back cover or inside sleeve?

Web-copy is the same thing: the last-minute stamp of someone very distant from the creation of a product trying to push that product.

It's no measure of the company's writers' quality, period. You of all people should know that you have to dig a little more deeply than that.

Again, I think it's really superficial and irresponsible to profile an essay provider because of poor web-copy. While poor web-copy may be a competitive disadvantage, it is not a damning indictment, nor an invitation for you to profile the company on an anti-scam site. As you know, many sites have web-copy written by company owners or website developers... not writers.

If you'd like the opportunity to delve a little deeper, feel free to initiate a conversation with representatives from the company you suspect of being incompetent. Try to find out where they're located. Pitch them a few paper topics, and see how they respond. Hit up their HR department and tell a little story. Maybe then you can come back and present a little more evidence than a turned-up nose and some snark, after you disparage the name of a potentially innocent organization.

Sometimes, in the case of unqualified owners, it is the cooks who wind up keeping a place going, despite management's best efforts to run it into the ground. Of course, no one can walk that kind of tightrope for very long before gravity takes over. But it does happen.

A superficial scan for red flags is fine, but the only way to know for sure is to test it out yourself.

I agree that poor web copy a red flag, but it's not a foolproof guarantee of either quality or intention. I also agree that the cafe analogy, yours in the first place, is poor, since it compares apples and oranges. Even when off, such comparisons can be illustrative, though, since the person misspelling the menu is not, on average, the one in the kitchen.

First of all, a lot of company owners outsource web copy to software people, try to write it themselves to save money, etc. That way, it comes out pretty terrible, but that doesn't mean that they are operating any kind of scam.

Secondly, offering "top notch" work is the same as offering "top notch" anything-- marketing.

A better indication of a scam is to look out for companies that promise "guaranteed A/1:1" work, which is illegal. Even that's not foolproof, though.

The only foolproof test is to order a small sample before committing to a company or writer for more than, say, 2 pages.

If those 2 pages work out, request or otherwise go through that same company and/or writer to complete the assignment.

Where are your examples of Flukes' grammatical mistakes and/or errors? As far as I can tell, all s/he did was get a little colloquial on an internet message board, which is totally acceptable.
