You must've noted some poetry here, but the bottom line is you don't work for the company any more and nobody really knows why they didn't want you to be a part of their team.

Googling StudentI doubt Paypal will stop accepting payments from legitimate research and tutoring services unless their worldwide competition agrees to do the same. Regarding Google, they are also a business and now that it's very clear that the UK government and (partially) the EU have been taken over by extreme politicians, the US corporations will take a hard look whether it's worth it and what's coming next.

If they succumb to political pressure to dictate how to do business, they will have to do it over and over again in the future. If they ban academic research services today, there will be voices from certain communities to ban, let's say, religious organizations, "flat-earth truthers," or gun-rights advocates.

Once book burning starts, it's over for free enterprise (which means decreased earnings for stock-holders).

Still, I may be wrong in my reasoning. If that's the case, students will find a way to use services they need. In general, I don't think Google would ban example writing services unless all other search engines agree to do the same. But the Russian Yandex or the Chinese Baidu surely won't.

do not have the function of preserving papers in the database

I've just checked the Terms / Data Protection information of a popular random tool which clearly states: "Uploaded documents or text (data) are stored on our servers." Perhaps you should make it more clear to the TOS of your own "plagiarism" tool; just because you hide this information doesn't mean the content is not being transferred, hosted on web servers in countries without legitimate copyright laws, and eventually stolen from students.

PayPal says there will need to be an international response.

Well, Paypal knows such move could give them business disadvantage because freelancers will go elsewhere. Btw - what do the Kenyan writers think about that, Paypal alternatives?

The point is, Paypal is protected from anti-discrimination laws only if they don't arbitrary discriminate against one group of businesses or freelance writers. If they decide to ban companyX, but choose not to ban companyY that provides a similar service, it would be an illegal / discriminatory act. So they could either ban all services and all freelance writers providing academic ghostwriting services, or none of them; selective ban may result in a successful lawsuit against them.

There are replica firearms or Nazi "gifts" available to purchase on both Amazon, Ebay, and other stores - banks haven't banned them yet. Still, I don't get it - do you actually agree with the BBC editor that working as an example research academic ghostwriter (your daily job, as I assume) is a crime and should be banned?

Student BlockI've read similar sentiments, especially from news sources in the UK, for a few years now. The presented theory is that "it is unethical for these companies / freelance writers to profit from this dishonest business." If Paypal or banks fall to these pressures, it would make very dangerous precedents for businesses and entrepreneurs. Depending on whom you ask, thousands of companies from various business niches can be considered "unethical." Let's start from lobbying or donations to political parties ;)

Even if Paypal fails to protect UK freelance writers and businesses from the attacks, they will find a way to accept money elsewhere, let's see: 2Checkout, Payoneer, Skrill, Stripe, Sage, Authorize (and hundreds of places that offer credit / debit card payments through merchant accounts), Transferwise, Amazon cards, Google Checkout, or regular bank transfer / check transactions. If Paypal decides to target UK businesses only, they could open an US or EU account and have money transferred there.

Besides, oftentimes a business or a freelancer offers multiple services, like essay editing / tutoring, paraphrasing, translations, data entry, article writing, marketing, etc. What would Paypal do in such cases? Would they investigate each and every transaction to determine whether the transaction was related to "essay editing" vs "essay writing" vs "SEO content writing" vs "dissertation revision" vs "statistical analysis," etc? If they ban a business that doesn't fully violate their terms, they can be sued and lose.

It seems EU organizations trying to pressure US companies has become fashionable these days, so I'd not expect Paypal to risk both losing business and getting into possible legal troubles.

Words UnderstandingI'm not sure if using an essay writing or academic research service would solve your problem (considering that the Statistics / Economic fields don't require a lot of writing).

From what I understand, Dyscalculia is related to difficulties in understanding math / numbers.

Are you required to take these courses or you took them because you like them?

What is your major and I wonder what doctors say about your condition; is it likely to improve?

IF this condition cannot be cured, you may want to reconsider your areas of study so that you excel in areas you are fully comfortable and able to be 100% successful.

Good luck and feel free to come back if you have more questions.

Relying on "TrustPilot," "SiteJabber" and similar sites to choose a writing service is unwise. Anybody with a free email can write a fake review of their service. If one service owner owns 10 different emails, he/she can leave 10 positive "reviews" of their own service. Same owner can ask 10 different writers to leave 100 other positive reviews. The end result - 100 positive reviews, but 0 genuine ones.

Regarding LastDayEssay - there is a post from 2016 here suggesting a connection to Ukrainian paper mills: https://essayscam.org/forum/es/list-fake-website-reviews-sites-created-fraudulent-4296/#msg76372

What would be an advantage of working with an independent writer from Africa (unless you charge up to a few dollars per page then the student could possibly rewrite the paper to make it usable).

If you still haven't been paid, you can post the paper on EssayChat. I think Paypal verifies a mailing address once, so if someone moves the old one would stay.

They can send payment without having a Paypal account (so no email to verify); perhaps that was the case here.

If you just check the TOS of your own essay company.

What is "my" essay company?

Of course, now that I've pointed it out, I imagine that you'll be changing that wording ASAP, the same way you changed the TOS of this forum a few years ago

Wow, OK - what I'll do ASAP is to contact admin to point out your lies.

It's interesting that you focus on 'scam companies' when in fact out of 10 'scam companies' there are 100 'scam freelance writers.' Proof: https://essayscam.org/forum/es/list-spamming-scamming-foreign-twitter-freelance-6050/

to make sure that you haven't used their product in the event you do a chargeback

I think I've mentioned it before - fraudulent students and online scammers should only use your services because you would never try to get your money back even if you get scammed. It's admirable that you have time to write a 50-dissertation for free (if so, why would you even consider taking money for your service when you are fine with credit card or Paypal fraudsters to order from you and you publicly promise to never do anything about that).

There are about 15 points that determine worker classification within the Behavioral / Financial / Relationship groups. Just because a company never assigns projects to their writers doesn't mean that they won't be reclassified as regular employees. It's similar to the 'reasonable doubt' criteria - 8 points may pass the scrutiny, but 5 (considered stronger by the agent or their lawyer) don't and guess what - the company is 'served.' I'd say that currently about 80-90% of 'legitimate academic research companies (both in the US and UK) can have their 'freelancers" reclassified despite their contracts, or not assigning projects. That means paying back-taxes too, of course.

Also think what happens AFTER the project was assigned - is the freelancer required to visit the company's premises to communicate with the customer (if so, he can be considered working on the company's premises). Can he perform the job without having to login to the company's platform? Is he required to run the paper through a 'plagiarism' tool? Is he paid weekly (by bank transfer) vs. after each project is completed. Etc. etc. If a 'writing service' suddenly disappears from the market it often means they got their justice. Obviously, services that have been audited aren't inclined to talk about it in public (why would they), but that's the reality for those well-informed.

Jan 30, 2019

I can't imagine how this is sustainable.

Frankly, it is the only way to go if a company doesn't want to risk their freelancers being reclassified as W-2 employees. If they require their freelance writers to work on their platform (= work on the company's premises), completely control their means of communication on their platform, and don't allow them to be independent, it is a huge point against the company if there is an IRS audit. A legal contract between a freelance writer and company is meaningless if it can be proven that he/she should be treated as an employee, not a contractor.

Jan 30, 2019

I've heard of a situation when a contract writer 'stole' a student's information and contacted him to offer services directly. It didn't work out well for him; the student was smart enough to have him complete countless (unjustified) revisions and even write a new paper for free in exchange of keeping quiet about it. Was it worth it? I doubt it.

YouTube and Facebook deletes academic cheating videos after BBC investigation

YouTube has deleted thousands of videos promoting academic cheating in the last week after a BBC Trending investigation.
The videos all advertised essay-writing services.
Facebook and Google have been asked by a regulator to stop making money from adverts for these companies.

bbc.co.uk/news/blogs-trending-46468389

(Hard to believe this hasn't been discussed here yet ;) I'm not surprised - scammers (both 'legitimate' and 'illegitimate') have been creating thousands of such fake videos that promoted lies and the "go to party and we'll complete your assignment" attitude. Many of them have been endorsed by "Youtubers" who couldn't care less about defrauded students. The article lists some Ukrainian essay writing mills that have mastered the art of deception.

Papers to be completed NOT necessarily get assigned to the most suitable writer.

Applies even more to freelance writers who can only rely on their own 'expertise' (still, some of them try to work with completely unfamiliar topics as long as the project pays well enough ;)

Any writer with the clearance level (status) the assignment demands can take or bid on it.

What is the 'clearance level' of freelance writers? I get it - whatever they claim is to be taken at face value, right. Looking at your profile, you write:

AdvancedWriter holds an MBA and an LLB. He has worked as a business and legal content contributor for several notable publications. Given his extensive experience in academic writing and research, his services cover a much wider range of topics and disciplines beyond law and business.

So you claim you hold an MBA an LLB degree. Where is your proof? A company would verify that; for now we all know it's a lie (I'm surprised you didn't write you are a Harvard graduate working for NASA). Other thing - you claim that having experience in academic writing and research qualifies you to write papers on a 'wide range of topics and disciplines.'? How is so? If you have a public college degree in marketing, how are you qualified to write professional papers on nursing?

2. Sometimes a paper doesn't get worked on until the very last day.

How is it different from a freelance writer working on a paper; do they complete all orders ahead of time (if so, why would they require a deadline)?

Many companies pay their writers less than 35% the rate charged to the customer.

Many freelance writers charge as much as a company, giving much less value and protections.

For essay companies with certain formats, the writer who gets assigned might not be the one who actually works on the paper.

Why would a customer care as long as the order is completed well and on time? Unless you mean that a freelance writer is (by law) prohibited from contracting his or her orders to others.

Sometimes the online operative/agent has little clue of the complex details the client is talking about.

Do you mean a support person should have a PhD degree to service customers?

One of the main functions of company agents and operatives is to ensure that there is no direct contact between writers and customers.

Why would they allow it knowing scammers would want to steal their customers? Or you mean that a company should spend money on advertising, brand building, and salaries so that freelance writers could take advantage of that.

I've been warning students about it for years; a writing service that advertises that their papers are run through "plagiarism checkers" or Turnitin are scam because the minute a paper is scanned, the content is stored and will be considered 100% plagiarized when the student / customer tries to use it.

I'd answer them again that this is the only reasonable solution and that you hope they will agree to it and stop wasting energy on that (in Paypal you may be able to reply by offering the amount to close the case so I'd do that). Then I'd wait and see what happens.

I'd offer them to pay up to 40-50%; if they have any sense of honesty they will accept it and both sides should peacefully part ways.

On the other hand, you turned out to be an irresponsible buyer. You shouldn't order a custom service (programming is a custom service) as if it was ordering a metal pipe from a hardware store that can be easily returned and sold to another customer.

So it must be about this new UK tax law: The Finance Act 2017/2018: internationalinvestment.net/products/tax/hmrc-predicts-1-2bn-tax-windfall-offshore-clampdown-gets-royal-nod/

I've often wondered why such a big loophole has been created in the first place (something similar still exists and is available to US corporations). Some foreign academic research companies took advantage of it in the past, but at this point it may be best for them to incorporate in their own countries (like Ukraine or Pakistan) where the EU or UK laws don't apply. Since it's a new law, I don't think there will be much (if any) penalties as long as the tax is paid.

What is the exchange rate / fee? With Paypal it's about 3%. Let's say someone pays you 1 bitcoin (to make it simple) - with Paypal you'd receive 0.97 bitcoin in your account; how about bitpay? I know that the regular currency exchange rates can add a lot to the cost, but maybe virtual rates are better.
Major
Sep 02, 2018

I'm not saying that it doesn't make sense, but I'd personally prefer to receive a canned fish as a form of compensation than a virtual currency that in reality can go as low as zero (or a string of zeroes). Maybe in some years (when most people are "chipped") it will change, but the current state of virtual coins is not practical and too risky in my opinion.
Major
Sep 01, 2018

From Bitpay's featured paragraph: "Turn Bitcoin into dollars and spend anywhere" - if you have to turn a virtual currency into a mainstream currency to use it, what's the point of adding all these unnecessary steps and fees? :)

Recently, I've received a spam email from a writing service claiming to be located in the UK / Europe. They listed per-page prices. What struck me was that they add a VAT (Value Added Tax) to their prices. Then I did more research to realize that students / clients must pay an extra VAT tax when ordering a research service from a business located in the EU. On average, the VAT amount is about 20%+ of the order amount. That means, that students from the UK who order a service from a UK-based business pay 20%+ more than when ordering from a US-based service. Not to mention that prices of legitimate UK-based services tend to be 40%-60% higher than their US or Canadian competitors. So the overall price difference between a US and UK writing service could be 50%-60% (or more).

Country of origin, in and of itself, does not make any company a scam in any industry

In the "essay writing" industry it certainly does. If 90% of services from Ukraine or Kenya lie about their country of operation or credentials of their writers, then you can have a pretty good guess about that. Search the forum for dozens or hundreds of examples.

Regarding China, I think the "lie-truth" ratio is not 90% but closer to 20% or even less (Chinese students prefer to work with Chinese writing services so these services have no problem revealing their country of operation).

Yes, there are some offshore (sometimes flashy and popular) services that employ a native-English speaker to answer live chats, phone calls, or to spam social media; the ultimate goal is to deceive prospective customers into believing their papers would also be written by a native-English speaker (which hardly ever happens).

a standard list of references is always included with every project and not considered part of the word count

I think that's what the answer actually suggested ('the references are not included in the word count'). References are included with the project, but they don't count towards the requested word or page count. You probably missed 'in the word count' part.
