does WritersBeware actually have a job writing for any of these companies, or did they quit to find a lucrative career posting repetitive vitriol on message boards?

:) just curious

yes, I'm the Ukrainian boogeyman, here to whip you into a froth of misguided post-cold-war nationalist rabies.

haha. I'm from Canada.

anway, no one answered my question. I'll have to guess-- unemployed. how else would they have so much time to waste?

I put that there to mess with you and make you paranoid. it worked instantly. I'm basically here just to flame you for being pathetic, complain about essaywriters, and look for new job leads.

speaking of jobs, my original question... do you work for any of these places, or just whine on and on about them?

as to who I am, I'm just a hack like the rest of you, but I'm not too proud of it.

hi; I am relatively new to the boards.

I just wanted to post my frustration about essaywriters.net. they started out vaguely OK, but then they suddenly started fining ridiculous amounts. for example, if a customer gave impossible or unrealistic demands for a revision, and I reassigned the paper, they started fining me the full amount of the paper. the result was not a zero balance; the whole amount of the paper was docked, and then docked again as a penalty! it's unreal. after I found out that they were not going to change the policy, I quit.

after a couple months, I heard EW was under new management, so I re-joined. it's the same as, or worse than, before. I thought I'd give it second chance, so I did about $70 worth of super-easy papers. now, due to fraudulent number-crunching and ridiculous fines, they have me working for practically nothing. I guess I'll have to deactivate my account again. their fines are totally out of control!

the CS staff at EW is full of poisonous idiots, too. scumbags. the one marginally helpful CSR at their phone number, Raymond, lies very politely. I should say, these were not low-quality papers or one-offs.

my advice to anyone reading this is to stay away from essaywriters.net. they are looking for slaves, and you're not a slave.

EW Writer--

I'm not sure what my nationality has to do with much. but when I started working for essaywriters.net, they hardly fined at all, and the pay was a lot better. they have gone seriously downhill. really, when it comes down to it, "the **** you choose to live through is the **** you choose to take." I can't take it anymore.

I do work for a bunch of other places that pay a lot better than essaywriters, fine maybe five bucks every once in a while, and have infinitely more polite and attentive CS staffers.

John--

I can't imagine putting all of my eggs in their basket and putting that much money on the line for them-- are you a gambling man?

WB, do you or did you actually work for any of these companies?

I plagiarize myself all the ******* time.

my profile says I'm from Ukraine. I'm a secret agent from Ukraine; I'm here to get intelligence on the message board users, and report it to my shadowy, Ukrainian bosses. don't tell anyone, OK?

I asked you a question.

anyway, we need to support their local mafia opposition, is my overall point.

we need to unite as a global proletariat, and accomplish our objectives by all means necessary.

Penalized WriterThanks for making my thread a spiteful nerd fest, and ignoring both the topic and my questions.

we need to go out and organize and protest together as the global proletariat; we are being mistreated by unrealistic fine structures in an obviously corrupt accounting structure, in which refunds are also fabricated. no company should have the right to do this to their employees; it is not an accepted feature of advanced capitalism.

storm their buildings! let the local mafia sort it out. together, we are strong.

check this out: this is from essaywriters.net.

"Topic: The American social/economic system is set up against minorities, especially Black Americans
Files: 1
Messages: 24 Research Paper May 28 2009 20:26 Order is refunded
Feedbacks: 0 67.50 $-80.5 not paid"

notice the (-$80.50): that's how much I'm being fined. what you can't see from this snippet is, that this was originally a $50 paper, which I got a $17 bonus on. then, out of the blue, essay writers told me that the paper was plagiarized, so the customer was refunded. I'm still not sure why the fine exceeds the original value of the paper by about thirty bucks.

I checked their turnitin report, and all of the "plagiarism" was in-text citations! it was all in quotation marks... ?!?!

anyway, my one consolation is that, since I've quit, they'll never get this outrageous fine. I could kick myself for giving them a second chance.

Writing Careers / Myessays.com - good to write for? [56]

myessays.com tends to pay randomly, and they are now impossible to contact. I used to email someone named Jason there who was very friendly and helpful. myessays.com changed its writer interaction format and stopped taking emails; they changed to some sort of automated complaint generator. I haven't been able to contact them since. they tend to pay all at once, at random times, after I have given up all hope of reaching them. I guess I am happy that I'm still getting paid, but I wish I could contact them.

myessays.com is now paying regularly via PayPal-- finally!

scratch that "regularly--" they are paying using PayPal, but in the same way. which is to say, you request 5 or 6 payments, get none of them, start to get worried, and then they all arrive at once, months later, after you've given up.

is anyone out there assoicated with myessays.com? Jason, you out there? here is an important message:

your new "tickets" system isn't working. I have "open tickets" from years ago, years!, and they still haven't even been looked at by anyone. you need to find a better way to allow your staff to communicate with you, asap.

I keep reviving this necro thread-- I know CPR--

does anyone write for this company?? they owe me so much money!! and their new ticket system is so bad!! does anyone have a phone number?? I call Atalus, but it's always just an answering service.

Jason, are you out there? change your contact system! start practicing what you preach!

myessays.com posts on its site that it pays writers every 2 weeks-- total BS!! they've held my checks for as long as 6 months! it's insane!

I agree with muntazir. I think we should be clear on their fines, though-- these are not excessive fines, in my experience: just a couple of dollars here and there. certainly not like some of their competition, who fine you the entire amount of the paper, twice, just for kicks.

the real hard-asses in terms of fines, in my experience, are at essaywriters.net.

I've been looking for a new place to write after quitting essaywriters.net, and I came across essaybay. right from the start, they lost my username and password, and I haven't been able to get in touch with them. this is before I even took any orders. it doesn't bode well.

incidentally, I am noticing a lot of prescriptive grammarian snootiness going on here. can I suggest that the snoots, you know who you are, put a lid on it? it's censorious and annoying. this is a message board, not an essay test. people should be able to relax and use whatever descriptive grammar they see fit.

yes, I am here to flame people and complain. what else am I going to do here, something constructive? please. flaming and complaining is what these things are made for.

re: the grammar police, I just hate to see people bashed just because they are ESL or something. it's like it makes them subhuman to some of you people, who are paranoid ****s and, imho, weird, backwards, cold-war nostalgists.

anyway, essaybay is hilarious-- they keep sending me emails telling me what my username and password are, and telling me to log in, and I keep emailing them back that the username and password they are giving me don't work. repeat. thanks for the personal note, "Carly," about maybe addressing the problem Monday, but, it'll be too late. your system is bugging already, and I haven't even started-- this is a sign for me to move on.

no, I mean that we need to support the rights of writers, vs. scammers and cheats who don't know late-stage capitalism from advanced capitalism (screw the customer, not the worker!).

unified, we are stronger, but only one of us gets to drive the forklift through their offices.

I have officially quit essaywriters.net.

on the same day, I have resolved a communication dispute at academia-research.com, in which I was first accused, and then cleared, of plagiarism. the staff there were generally understanding and nice about the process, and seemed truly sorry about their mistake. essaywriters.net, on the other hand, used plagiarism as a weapon, gave me the cold shoulder, and never listened to a word I said (their machine had picked up quotations as "plagiarism").

between the two, it is like night and day.

Writing Careers / writers.ph is really a scam [34]

sometimes their software picks up quotations as plagiarism, and you can contact them about it and convince them to reduce or eliminate the fine. sometimes.

I have plagiarised myself before. sometimes I just tell the client, "look, you're not just supposed to hand it in. you have to change parts. I've written like 10 of these; I'm going to repeat myself." sometimes they are cool about it.

that was just advice. if essaywriters.net is associated with this company, they probably rip off their writers with unrealistic and outrageous fines. you should work for a company that treats their writers better.
rustyironchains
Jun 24, 2009

anyone would and should be scared ****less to work for essaywriters-- with a lot of these mills, there's a blip here and there of some disaffected plagiarizer crying, but with essaywriters, there's a sustained stream of outrage and invective that takes up a significant % of its search engine hits. it is one of the most hated and feared mills out there, and for good reason-- it is staffed by bridge trolls, and has no qualms about cannibalizing its own talent.
rustyironchains
Jun 26, 2009

I may very well be crying about academia-research.com next. it's always in the back of my mind, with anyone in this crappy industry, that they are trying to rip me off. I don't know why some of you expect anything more. this is not a pie in the sky kind of industry, and when a pie in the sky situation comes up, the company usually goes under pretty quickly. I had a contractor in Manhattan who paid me $20 per page, flat rate. it was great, until a couple of months later, the company was defunct.

my point is, in terms of choosing between evils, academia-research.com is a lot better than essaywriters.net, because they are actually capable of listening to their writers. they have proven this to me; your innuendo and prophetic warnings cannot provide the same proof.

WB, you seem to be saying two things at the same time:

1. that fraudsters create the illusion that everyone is a fraud in order to deceive customers, and

2. that everyone is a fraud.

does this mean that you yourself are a fraudster?

you seem more experienced in this industry than many of us, so pray tell about these "righteous" paper mills that "stand for truth." I'm really curious.

WriterJohn-- wtg, good post. I like your style. but why would essaywriters.net stop fining their writers double for fake refunds? it's a good scam from their standpoint. they get 100% back again on a fake refund, at the writer's expense. I wouldn't change that; what are they thinking, reducing fines?! is this true?

Oxbridge-- I'm not trying to like provoke you by saying that you can't predict the future. I'm just saying, I'm happy with academia-research.com, right now. and, you mentioned, "hundreds and hundreds of projects, etc. etc.?" what are you, some kind of wise owl? keep it to yourself, please, wise owl, shame on you!

"reward points" please. they mean nothing; all you have to do is make Premium. bragging about your reward points. really.
rustyironchains
Jun 26, 2009

fining is ridiculous; they are already making a 60% profit, at the very least, on every order. there is no reason to be a pig, and no excuse for it.
rustyironchains
Jun 27, 2009

I think it's funny that some of you seem to want to have pride in your writing, doing this kind of writing. it's dreck! save the good stuff for your novel. personally, I fry these things up fast and loose, and then forget about them.

if a company fines you for something unfairly and won't listen to you, you should quit. if you stay with a company like this, it's giving them tacit permission to treat you like ****. different people are going to get along with different companies in different ways. personally, I've never had any serious problems with academia-research. their 3 strikes system makes me nervous, but they can be reasoned with. as to how 1 strike is better...? unless you're a company owner, I don't see it.

Jun 27, 2009

good companies know how to retain good talent. if a company fails to retain good talent, it is being unsustainable. this is the lesson of advanced capitalism vs. late capitalism. if it is advanced capitalism, the writer wins, and the customer is ******. if it is late capitalism, the company ***** the writer.

US-UK Englishwho follows the forum rules anyway? don't be shy.

Aside from spelling, UK English has a few different words for stuff too, a lot of it having to do with car parts.

lorry= truck
bonnet= hood
windscreen= windshield
flat= apartment
aluminium= aluminum
labor=labour

etc.

They also drink their beer warm; gross. generally, though, I think the customers want to focus on sources-- UK journals, books magazines, etc.-- and spelling.

essaywriters has scads of orders, but lately, a majority of those are for the taking, at $3.60 per page (or less). boooo! I remember a past essaywriters fondly, before they changed their fine structure, started offering all these cheapo orders, and completely screwed me. anyway, they always have orders, if you can deal with total ********.
rustyironchains
Jun 30, 2009

hi exwriter. I was wondering...

what makes you so gleeful about completely ******* the unfortunate new writer who bids on this order?

it's not the new writer's fault; they are just bidding on orders, minding their own business. what did they do wrong? your friend could have easily revised the paper by changing a few sentences and sending it back to the customer-- this is often all it takes. but where are they? on vacation, leaving their busybody pal behind to do their dirty work. and you love it, don't you?

re: $5 fine, please. who cares? I agree that companies shouldn't fine writers, but $5 is not worth getting some innocent writer who bids on the order next, fired for plagiarism. if your friend doesn't like the fines, they can quit. what business is it of yours, anyway?

posting this paper-- wtf do you think you are, some kind of knight of the downpressed? please, do me a favor and stop feeling good about yourself. you are being a total cheese-eater.
rustyironchains
Jul 01, 2009

sorry, didn't take it... btw, your friend's "excellent" paper is full of grammatical errors, which leads me to believe (along with the lack of quotes) that the parts that aren't, are plagiarized. I wouldn't wipe my *** with it. if I were the customer, I would have asked for a full refund. I hope your friend gets fired, you rat *******.
