@healthresearcherUK I can so identify with what you said. The company where I used to work often had clients who would place an order by saying "Please hold the paper while I get instructions." Normally, I don't touch such stupidly placed orders. When pushed to do so by the company however, due to the nearing deadline and the need to assign a writer, I spend 48 hours trying to contact the client to no avail. I don't see how these students expect us to complete their papers when they either cannot provide accurate instructions, or do not give instructions themselves. I don't know which type of client is worse. The no instructions client means penalties for a missed deadline on the writer's part. I never could get the company to reassign the paper. I think they knew the client would never respond and they would have a chance to dock my pay unreasonably. Then we have the inaccurate instructions client which meant revisions and screaming clients who had no idea what their paper was about anyway.

I once had a client who did not understand English very well. He kept on placing orders for 8 pages for an assignment that clearly indicated "Answer all 8 questions on one page." I don't think he understood English at all. When I explained his mistake to him, he said I should write 8 pages just the same because he "thought he misunderstood the instructions the teacher gave", even after I pointed out that he uploaded an instruction file. Needless to say, when he came back for a revision, it was because he needed only 1 page for 8 questions. Sheesh! Which type of client do you think is worse? The one who doesn't respond to writer inquiries or the ones that respond but don't have a clue about their homework / research papers.

Edit JobWhy don't you try some of the free editing services like PaperRater and Grammarly? Those sites help you correct your grammar and also make suggestions regarding how to improve your sentences / paragraphs. I suggest that you use these services before you hire someone to do the editing work for you because as a student, you should at least try to get the job done yourself. Since you find it difficult to do that, consider trying the free services first. You might learn a thing or two about editing and also, manage to change/ edit / revise the content of the paper without changing your voice or method of presentation in the paper.

Use a freelance writer to edit your paper only after you have exhausted all of the "free" means of editing and you still feel that this is the best that you can come up with for your paper and it still doesn't satisfy the requirements you were given for the completion of the paper. A freelance writer might accidentally change your discussion voice in the paper but it should be for its betterment. The message will still remain the same. I would not have any worries contacting any of the freelance writers at this forum to help you out. Provided you have exhausted all means of self-editing first.

@Amanda Thanks for the tip. However, I did not encounter such problems when I was using one or the other program to help mimic the writing way of the student I was helping at the time. I also encouraged the students to use the same programs upon receiving my work in case there were some points that they wanted to alter but felt that there was no need to bother me about it. They did not report and plagiarism problems on their end. So if it was in the system, maybe they altered the paper enough to not trigger a flag or warning for them.

Personally, I find that doing hands on editing works best. Most specially now that Windows 10 offers MS Office Word with real - time proof-reading and editing. Writing these academic papers has really become more enjoyable and easier to do because the suggestions to correct, improve, or edit the content of the paper is done as soon as you complete a sentence.

That's not to say though that a second set of eyes, trained editor eyes, to be precise, is not of help in this situation. I am just saying that technology as made it easier to self-edit. The second set of eyes, will be for anything the original writer or the program might have missed in the first few rounds of drafting the essay or research paper.

@Amanda_Seal Those are standard features of all the academic writing company websites. There is nothing in that list that indicates the company is legitimate based on that information. Those are all meant to give even the scam sites a semblance of legality and authority. The legitimacy of a writing company should be based more on the company's years of (verifiable) existence and their IP address. If the IP traces back to the UK and the US then maybe, just maybe, it is a legit site and you can take the propaganda on their site at face value. If the IP goes anywhere else in the world, then you know what that means.

While I do agree that writing websites should be considered illegitimate as @PlagiarismIsBad said, these companies and freelance writers do offer a valuable service that students require. Therefore, it's existence is something that must be accepted by the academic community. As it is, there is a sense of this practice being an open secret in the academic world. What the students should question, is whether or not they are getting an actual native English speaker for a writer. So it isn't much a question of legality and legitimacy as it is "ability" of the the company and its writer's to deliver what the website claims it can to the students who wish to use their services.

@ProfessorVerb I wouldn't over think it if I were you. Just keep participating so you can help keep the forum thriving in terms of discussion. We can never really figure out what the people behind the scenes mean by the things they say. Since we are all here for the same purpose anyway, let's just enjoy the company and conversation. The ratings per person will keep increasing that way.

I'm also a new member here and I am really enjoying my time spent interacting with everyone. Even though i was off to a rough start with others here, I hope that everyone will get past that. I am looking forward to calling everyone here my friend. I truly enjoy the opportunity to exchange ideas with everyone and learn from the mistakes and successes of those before me here.

I'm not perfect and I haven't had the best experience with writing companies in the past. Hopefully, I will be able to get over the trauma of working for the writing companies for the past 20 years with the help of everyone here. I look forward to helping the others who need help or just want to talk as well.

Essay Services / Do legit websites still exist? [35]

It's extremely difficult to find legit websites out there. Most of them seem to locate themselves in scam central. That's what I call the companies coming out of Pakistan, India, and the Ukraine. These websites do not really offer high quality work even if they claim do to so. Just reading their website makes my head hurt. It is also evidence of the kind of writing that their writers may provide their upcoming clients. If I were you, I will not look for legitimate writing websites due to the difficulty it entails. I would however, recommend looking up a reputable and legitimate freelance writer online instead.

Just running that keyword through Google will return a number of legitimate searches. You can find the right writer for the kind of work that you need to be done. These freelancers are your best bet over the writing companies because these people run their own show and their grammar is flawless, impeccable in fact.

If you think about it, yes, the legit websites do exist. They just aren't connected with reputable writing companies. These are connected with reputable freelance writers instead. They are much more reliable and definitely worth the money you will be paying them to help you with your writing.

Writing Careers / Writezillas Different Pay Scales [10]

There are definitely different pay scales for various writer rankings in various companies. I just can't figure out how they decide the pay that each writer sees. In my case, I got a promotion less than a month ago at one of the companies that I work for and was promised a salary starting at $7 per page from that point on. Yet, each time I checked in on the available orders, the cost per page was actually on the downtrend instead of an upward slant. I was seeing orders at $1.29 up to $3.49 per page. When I asked them why I was seeing those costs instead of the promised starting rate of $7 for my promoted position, I got the most shocking answer ever. I was told "You have to earn it." I had to earn it! Really? I got the promotion and everything, including the promise of no cpp less than $7 on any order. To top it off, I was limited to single page orders and they could not explain why. Needless to say, this company really racked up the negative points with me until I finally decided to call it quits with them just a few days ago.

Yeah. It's a good business model for them that translates into lousy treatment of the hardworking writers. I'm sorry if I sound so disgruntled at times. It's just that I worked, at this company in particular, for over 6 years, even after the management changed regularly every year and all the powers that be did was find ways to get around paying the writers.

If the future of the academic research industry is left in the hands of business runners like these people, they will run it into the ground. Nobody will want to work for companies because of the distrust. While those who are honest to goodness freelance writers will have to find effective ways and means to constantly battle the bad press that these negative companies have given the industry.

I really hope that the future of the academic industry will be one that finally has companies that treat the writers and the clients on the level while the independent writers set the foundation for less middle men (companies) and more direct (freelance writer) hiring. Since the field run by companies can't seem to set a standard for quality essays and fair writer treatment, maybe the independent writers can do that and force the companies follow their lead instead.

@Major I agree with you on that. However, I am not one of those writers. I was actually the writer the company came to in an effort to fix the paper and placate the client. It is this talent of mine that led me to my ranking as Writer 1st Class at the company. One of the highest ranking writer positions they gave to the truly talented writers who had a high rate of return clients. Sometimes though, they would pass the paper on to me too late for me to work my magic on the client. So I would end up getting penalized along wih the original writer. That normally happened when the client demanded a refund even after he recieved a highly satisfying version of the paper from me. The client would say, " I wish I got this version sooner. My deadline passed and I failed the assignment /class. Just give me a refund please." I wish I could name the company here in order to offer evidence to support my claims. I don't think that it will accomplish anything though. So I'll just leave you to your opinion. It makes for a healthy and informative discussion in the thread.

@writers2beware The garbage in this thread is veiled advertising for the company. It was probably posted by the same person. Notice the same written speech patterns between the OP and the people who responded to his post. I can't believe that a Pakistan based academic writing company can produce high quality and well worded essays for their clients.

Their website alone is a joke. Sure it looks professional. Unfortunately, the testimonies use stock images and the text describing how they get "excellent" service is laughable. It is obvious that they wrote their own publicity, believe in their own publicity, and would like gullible students to believe in the same. Any company that offers discounts the way this company does is only after one thing, the money.

The company doesn't even have a company history to speak of. I for one, would not trust a company that doesn't have any professional history. Another reason this company is questionable is because they do not provide any contact information at all for their potential clients. No Skype number, no chat, no messaging system. There is absolutely no way I would trust this company, much less try it.

Again, this is an example of why your gut feeling is always right. If something doesn't feel right from the start of the transaction, it would be best to either delay the signing of the contract with the company or, just skip it altogether. If you feel like the person on the other end of the line is trying his hardest to sell you on the idea of picking up on their service, chances are, you are in for a nightmare ride with this company.

You can also bet that the name of the person on the other end of the phone conversation you had was not Frank. These companies often have their people use fake names rather than their real European names because that would give away the fact that their services are based on lies. If the person on the other end of the line has an accent that doesn't make his spoken English sound like it is rolling off his tongue, chances are, you are being duped.

Whenever possible, most specially when you are on a budget, it would be best to hire an independent freelance academic writer instead. Freelance writers are normally cheaper in cost as they can negotiate their price per page. That is how they can manage to deliver higher quality papers. They deal with the clients directly.

While some academic writing companies do have high quality writers, the problem is that the company "bids" the paper out to their pool of writers. So, while the proficient writers may be part of the pool, there is a higher chance of a cheaper, less skilled writer working on a complex order because of budget constraints (for instance) on the part of the client. I believe that this is what happened when you placed your order. The company did not really screen for the perfect writer for your paper. They screened for the lowest cost per page writer they had who could probably deliver your paper, but not at the quality that you expected. The only concern of that company was to make you part with your money. They did not really care about you, your grade, or your client experience with them.

Aug 07, 2017

@wordsies There is actually a company that does that. I know because up till last week, I still worked for them. For any order over 15 pages, they ask the writer to upload the draft within a few days before the deadline. So if the deadline is in 2 weeks, you are required to upload the draft for the client's approval within one week. If you forget, the company will remind you to upload the draft within 24 hours of the 7th day. It is not efficient at all. I will grant you that and I told the company that.

However, they said that the action was a sign of goodwill of the company and the writer towards the client. Plus, they claim that it saves on revision time because the client can demand changes prior to the finalizing of the paper. When I asked them how an unfinished paper could be revised, I was told that it is the client's prerogative to have the early draft changed if they feel that it isn't the direction they wanted to take with their paper. I pointed out that the client could very well sell the draft of the early unfinished version (whoever they sell it to after can fill in the blanks), then come back and demand a new paper. In which case, I worked on a second paper for free and the company got paid only once. I don't think those Ukrainians had very good business sense. Either that or they were overcharging the client so much and paying me so little that they did not mind giving away the drafts.

You should also make sure that the writing service that you choose to use offers free draft versions of the essay prior to completion. A good writing company allows the student to get at least half of the written work midway through the deadline. This is a show of good faith that indicates the company and the writer you have hired through them will follow through on the promise to meet the deadline you set. Aside from that, you can also get an idea as to whether the paper is going in the direction you want it to go and if not, have it corrected before completion. Reputable writing services are not as difficult to come by as you think. Those that offer free drafts are sometimes a safe bet when it comes to getting your paper done on time and in a high quality standard. As mentioned earlier, the payment system also tells you if the company is worth the risk. Personally, as long as the company offers Paypal as a payment collection agency, I feel better using the service. More because I know that Paypal will always help me get my money back in case of fraud. A reputable writing service will always align itself with other reputable companies in order to build their "trustworthy" image.

There are some instances when the writing companies actually change ownership and in the process, the actual start history of the company becomes hard to keep track of. As the owners change, sometimes, they choose to keep certain aspects of the old company, such as the history of the previous company and the old company name, as their own.

That is because the company is sold but they retain the same writers and other aspects of business of the previous company. The writers normally are not told when this change in ownership happens. The rules of the company just change overnight and that is the sign that someone new owns the company. So if the company is claiming to have been in existence for 5 years, but the verification tools say otherwise, as in, the information indicates that the company has a newer start date than claimed on the site, take into consideration certain business practices first. Once ownership is assumed, depending upon whether the previous owner agrees to it or not, the start date of the existence of the new management may not affect the establishment date of the writing service.

I agree. The Huff Post Blogs are some of the most unreliable sources of information out there. Unfortunately, they market themselves in such a manner that makes them seem impressive and authoritative so the people get conned into thinking that they are reputable. I always make sure to double check any information that comes from their blogs. Most of the time, the information I learn about disputes their claims. Which is why I rank Huff Post Blogs as only my second most unreliable source of information. Wikipedia being the first most unreliable. I would not recommend Huff Post Blogs to anyone.

As for the foreign companies that create fake Wikipedia pages, I almost fell victim to a few of them online. They would claim to be in the United States with American writers. Yet, when I check the IP address it pings back to India, Pakistan, or the Philippines. It is important to never believe everything one reads on Wikipedia. Additional research is required to confirm any information from there. Not just for writer services, but for the actual physical location of the company as well.

Personally, I tell people that Wikipedia gives you a good starting point but it should not be considered an endorsement of any academic outsourcing company. Usually, these companies that advertise on Wikipedia find that their veil of fake claims are lifted once the potential client uses the chat or messaging system of the company. Their grammar is simply not native speaker level. Even while writing you can tell that they are trying to come up with proper grammar when conversing. Which is why they respond in single sentence lines and more often than not, ask you to repeat the question or "hold on please", while they use a translator for your text message.

There is really no telling when a site is trustworthy or not. There are some red flags that one can look out for but it could come too late for those who are unknowingly caught in the web of deceit. It would be best to simply practice caution and common sense when hiring these services. If something doesn't feel right for you as the client, do not proceed with the transaction. It is better to not have any regrets later on.

Sure, there are legitimate essay writing companies out there. The problem is that if a student is pressed for time, it is difficult for the student to actually come across a legitimate company. The student will most likely grab the first (recommended) academic writing site he comes across because he just needs to get the job done. There is no time for vetting, no time for comparison shopping, no time for serious considerations. These are the mistakes that lead the student to go with the scam independent writer or scam company. These considerations make it even more difficult for anyone to recommend a writing service because it is truly difficult to investigate the legitimacy of these writing companies these days. Most of the time, a student hires a service on a Hail Mary. With any luck, the student gets a legitimate writer and / or company and comes out of the pressure situation unscathed. Others though are not so lucky. They end up with a paper from hell. Here's a tip, don't ask for recommendations. If you are short on time, then try your best to do the paper yourself. That way, you avoid crying over spilled milk when things go wrong for your paper.

@deezLynch I would not trust the companies that have Wikipedia pages too much either. Always take the information placed on that site at face value. I am sure that you know about how anybody can just edit a Wikipedia page right? There is a lack of information verification in that system. The information about the writing company there could be anywhere from accurate to misleading, While not all of the sites could be misleading, it is always best to be cautious as these companies can say anything in their advertisement, which is what the Wikipedia page is, just to bring in clients. If their history or claims seem too good to be true on the Wikipedia page, then it most likely isn't true. Again, I am not saying all the companies do this, just some. So I caution you about dealing with them just because of a Wikipedia reference.

It may do you better if you try to find a writer at one of the freelancing job sites. Those sites have safeguards in place should the writer you hired give you problems. That is not to say that the writers here are fraudulent. I am sure they are not. It is all about you being cautious in the way you deal with people. You should be able to tell before you hire a company or person if they are on the level. Use their chat or email services before you place your order and ask questions. If you are comfortable after speaking with their representative or the writer personally, and you feel that the person properly addressed your concerns, then the experience should be a fruitful one.

Please allow me to share my experience with unscrupulous students who work the academic outsourcing company system and defraud the writers in a different way. I often got defrauded by students at the former company where I worked in a different manner. I would work on the paper, submit it to the client and then wait out the 2 week unlimited revision deadline. The students would go on to to submit their paper, actually get a grade on it, tell me they got a good grade and give me a positive review for my work, and then, before the revision deadline is up, they would repeatedly come back asking me to make adjustments to the paper. "Make it sound like a new paper" they would tell me in the revision request without offering a valid reason for it.

I knew that the students were reselling the paper to their classmates because I actually had one of them request for me as a writer for a specific essay on the basis of, "I bought one of the papers that you wrote from my friend." I often told the companies that the students were working the unlimited revision policy to no avail. They just kept telling me to keep revising if the client wanted it because that was the promise the company gave. Defrauding comes in many forms in the academic outsourcing industry. It gets even worse when the company actually supports it. The writer ends up writing up to 14 versions of a paper "for free" and only the student and the company (who probably overcharged in the first place) gets something out of the original paper that was written.

Speech RecognitionI've been using Google Voice for a period of time and I have found that it is easier to train this program to understand one's speech patterns.

It pretty much works well except when you go for really complicated words that, when pronounced, seems to confuse the program. In which case, some retraining for the program is required. Usually by updating the dictionary content.

Overall though, I find it useful only for drafting my papers and other documents. When it comes to the finalization of the presentation, nothing beats manually pounding away on the keyboard. If you are also pressed for time, it is still better to just type out the document than speak.

Somehow, it is easier to hit the delete or backspaces button when compared to all the steps one has to go through in deleting a dictated text.

I found myself still having to manually take over at certain points. At this point, I still believe the speech recognition programs still have some way to go before it can be called a true "speech recognition program".

There are still eccentricities and unique patterns in the way that individuals speak which cannot be understood, adjusted to, or overcome by the programs.

In my opinion, you should not merely rephrase your original essay in order to use it in your new class. That would definitely be considered self-plagiarism and, as mentioned before, it would be against academic honor codes. However, there are no rules against you using that previous essay as the basis of your new paper. If you must, use that as a guideline for your new essay. It is sure to hasten your research process because, provided the information in your original essay is not over 5 years old, then you can still use the same information for the persuasive essay. Just make sure that you add new sources of information to which is newer in date than the ones you had in your previous paper.

I believe that you could use about 30 % of the old sources, depending upon the year of publication to at least help you get started in developing your persuasive reasons. It isn't considered plagiarism to use the old sources from your original essay as other students may also come across the information and use the same in their own papers. In order to avoid plagiarism problems, just write a new essay, the old essay should just be an assisting tool for your new research and discussion development.

Basically, teacher will know that you cheated based upon your performance in class. If you have been a consistently bad student, as in not passing tests, unable to participate in class discussions, low quality assignments from the start of claas, then all of a sudden, you seem to turn into a good student she cannot recognize, then that will raise a red flag. As the others previously mentioned, it all boils down to the writing style of a student. An ESL who suddenly speaks perfect English will be questioned when the written work is turned in. A student who does not excel in analysis then suddenly becomes a deep thinker will intrigue the teacher. Basically, it is who you are a student that will tell the teacher if you cheated on your paper or not. In instances when the student uses a writing service, it is always best to include a file of your original written work so that the ghost writer will have an idea regarding your writing style, tone, and written speech patterns. Instructing the ghost writer to emulate that type of writing will lessen the possibility of suspicion on your teacher's part because it will be as close a match to your own writing method. Writing software only helps with the plagiarism part. The written part, that is all about the quality of the student's original writing prior to the hiring of a ghost writer.

The problem I have with using Turnitin for plagiarism detection is that it keeps a file of the essay you submitted. Therefore, if the teacher runs a check for the paper in the system, it will definitely turn up plagiarized as the paper is already in the system. The teacher, will not know that the student previously checked for plagiarism in Turnitin.

I have had clients whose papers I wrote in the most original form possible (READ: close to no citations and using mostly paraphrasing instead), use that plagiarism checker before submitting the paper. It comes up clean. Then they submit it to the teacher, who then uses the program and BAM! It comes up as plagiarized. That is why I started asking my clients to use other online plagiarism checkers. Those that do not keep a file of the original paper as Turnitin does.

As for Grammarly, I don't really use that program unless the client requests for it because he has a specific writing style that I need to go for. As Meokhan pointed out, the system doesn't recognize specific writing styles and insist that it be corrected. In my case, I used that program only when the student indicated that the paper has to sound like a non-native speaker wrote it. I make the corrections based on the suggestion of the program.

I do not believe in its plagiarism checker service because the program was not designed with that in mind. Personally, I prefer to services of PaperRater because of (what is to me) its reliable features such as its ability to proof read and grammar check, suggest vocabulary, and also, check for plagiarism in a more accurate manner (I believe) than Turnitin since it does not keep papers on file.

Assignment Cheating EvidenceI think that it is very funny indeed. If you were not sworn to secrecy regarding your identity as a writer to the client, it would have made for a very interesting and comical conversation with this student. I wonder how he would have taken it, knowing that his teacher actually wrote his paper. Nah, he would have probably demanded a perfect A since you gave the assignment and wrote the paper for him. I can almost see how you first gave him a score tongue in cheek. I bet you knew a revision request was coming right?

I imagine that you were laughing off your seat when he did that. Having to revise your own work and score it down, I don't think I could have done that with a straight face. Might I ask though, how did you treat the student during the rest of the school year? Did he become a regular client for you at the time? Would you say that you viewed that student in a different light from that point?

I know that if it were me, I would find myself smiling knowingly at him each time he passed an assignment paper, or I would have been harder on him in class knowing that he was not carrying his weight in terms of learning the lessons you worked so hard to develop and teach them. Has anyone else here had a similar experience? I'd love to hear how it went for the others in similar situations.

@writer4life I agree with you. In fact, I recently decided to part ways with the company that I freelanced with for 6 years because of their unlimited revision policy. I know that the work that I do is above par because I reached the 1st Class level Writer position in the company. However, the higher my position got, the more unreasonable the company became. It got to the point where it was no longer the client asking for revisions, but the company itself.

Why did I know it was the company itself? The dead giveaway to me was that the class of the client ended 2 years ago! When I asked them why I was revising a 2 year old paper and who ordered it, the answer that I got was "Just do the revision. The QAD requests you to do it." That told me that they resold the paper without giving me a cut of the profits. This company claimed to be legit, with offices in the US. However, when I personally met with one of the previous owners of the company when the company was thinking of setting up physical offices in the country, there was an admission that the company was in the Ukraine. So I don't know how reliable these addresses are. These U.S. postal addressed are, after all, available for sale online as is the telephone number and email address. I guess my experience is pretty bad.

Don't get me wrong though, I admire the freelancers who were able to make it without the help of a company affiliation. They are the true heroes of the academic outsourcing community. While some companies may be legit, there are still those that prefer to misrepresent themselves both to the clients and the writers.

As a person who worked for a number of academic writing companies over the past 20 years, I say that yes, there are companies that scam both the student and the writer. These companies come out of India and the Ukraine mostly. I'd like to clarify though, I meant to say that if you work for a company located in one of those countries that really don't have any safeguards to protect the earnings of the writer or the payment of the student then yes, it is a scam.

However, if you work for yourself, then you obviously don't fall under that classification. An honest academic writer who works for himself relies on the word of mouth from satisfied clients to build his business. Therefore, he will never scam a student. He needs that student to be happy with his work because his business earnings depend on it. These other writing companies, most of whom I have worked for, don't function that way. They make it difficult for the students to get their refunds back when the writer assigned is obviously inferior. They penalize writers are a whim to the point where no salary is received in certain instances as well. These companies often use the "bait and switch" maneuver to get the client to sign up for the service. They offer writers lucrative per page offers then don't follow through once the writer begins to work for them. Those are the scam companies who make it difficult for the academic research industry to come out of the shadows.

I would like to add something to what I have already said. If the academic research and writing industry is to have a future, then arrangements with universities and schools world-wide need to be made so that the industry can be regulated to certain standards that protect all concerned. Educators must willingly accept the work that the students pass to them without question or reservation provided he does well in other aspects such as in class exams and exercises.

Yes, I do know what I speak of...

"Pi contest, BS"? Really, whether you meant this article for a formal research paper or a submission to a professional journal, your choice of words are not very respectful to the reader. I was expecting a more respectful and analytical tone in your presentation, specially since you are defending an industry that is concerned underground and illegal in most academic fields. Whether professors choose to have the TA perform most of their tasks or not, that is their prerogative. The TA still bases his method of teaching on the professor's instructions and he cannot deviate from that. As for the plagiarism thing, we both know that there is a reason professors focus on that. They want to be sure that the students actually understand the lesson and don't just copy paste information for the sake of the word count.

I do not believe that the academic outsourcing industry can ever go mainstream because it represents something that academicians frown upon. The fact that students can have someone else do the work for them and then get a grade for it. It is an industry that gives the professors a finger because the students can legally get away with not doing their work. As long as they submit their requirements, the professor has to pass them. There is nothing in the rules that say the students have to prove they did the work. If the industry is out in the open, then the reasons why the students use the service will be nullified. The professors and teachers will see to that. Which is why the academic outsourcing industry will forever be destined to be whispered about in student circles and an open secret among the faculty and the learners.

I don't think seasonality is the problem. I think that students are becoming wise to the scam that is being run by these companies so they have decided to steer clear of them. I think one of the reasons for the decline in student use of these services is the fact that the universities and schools now have Writing Centers where the students are encouraged to come in so that they can get free help with their research paper and essay development. If a student truly wants to learn, he will take advantage of those free school services.

Aside from that, there are also all of these free online grammar checker, plagiarism checker, and editing services that allow the student to write the paper himself, get professional opinions from experienced reviewers, and then edit the paper on their own. Saves them time, stress, and aggravation when the work they order isn't what is delivered. The low order placement rate is all because the academic writing industry is slowly killing itself because of the scam it runs on the students. These poor kids get dismally written papers and then, are unable to get proper revision work or refunds from these companies. I would not be surprised if the news about that has spread in the student community. Which has resulted in the lower than usual order placements in some companies. The other companies that still have a high rate of orders probably have ventured into other venues of writing other than academic in order to keep their company afloat.

Melliflous, I'm sorry I missed the chance to help you with your radio interview. I hope that you can still consider my comments for any future work that it might relate to for you though. The academic essay writers are not bad people. They, just like everyone else, are trying to eke out a living the best way they know how. The money is made legally for all intents and purposes because they render a service and in exchanged get financial rewards for the job. I will agree though that the academic writers could be accomplices to the process of enabling the laziness of students. After all, they just have to attend class and note the assignment. They don't need to worry about doing the actual work. They can hire someone to do that. It is this way of thinking that has led to the lowering of educational standards. A student may be horrible in class, but excellent with his homework. While the two don't add up, the professor or teacher is forced to pass the student because his assignment and research pass the criteria. There are even instances when the student can hire his writer to take his test for him.

It is in those instances of test taking for the student that the profession of being an academic writers crosses the line. When the student is so disinterested in his studies, because he is so used to hiring others to do his academic work, then the writer hired becomes an accomplice in an academic crime. Academic writers of principle will never work with students like this.

I believe that it is the academic writing company that is the true criminal here. They hire these writers in the guise of paying them promptly and at high rates. Only for the poor writer to find out that those rates are dependent of their writer status, amount of likes, and rate of revisions and refunds. In which case, the poor writer ends up working for next to almost nothing because of all the fine print penalties tacked onto his salary.

In the end, only the company and the student benefit from the hard work of the academic writer. The company, can create reasons to refund or fine the paper, while the student can do the very same. The writer himself, is subject to the whims and caprices of the company and the student when it comes to his actual income to be paid.

The job, in and of itself is not something that you should hide. It is an open secret in the academic system. Teachers and professors know about it so unless you are applying for a job at a university, which you aren't, then there is no harm in mentioning it in your resume. This is a job, although questionable at times because it gives students a chance to not do the work and yet get the grade, you should be proud of. This is a job that helped you polish your writing skills and turn you into a widely informed person. Worthy of the job you are applying to. However, I would not highlight it too much in the resume. Neither would I describe it as an "example" position because everyone knows that the students don't use the sample in the manner it was intended. That is why they ask for originally written essays and also, the company checks for plagiarism in the content. Call yourself exactly what you are instead, an "Academic Writer". That is the truth of the position you held at that academic sample writing company. The student fully submitted it to the teacher. That isn't your problem anymore. I hope you got the job.

When you sign up for a writing service, you can expect to get conned all the way. They prey on unsuspecting students who are looking for a way out of doing their homework for various reasons. While I will not dispute the validity of the reasons, I will dispute the fact that a student can rely on someone else to write his paper and expect to get a good result. These hired writers do not have access to the same resource materials as the student. They also barely speak English, much less write a the level expected of an American college student.

When you hire a writing service, you place your grades in their hands. Why would you do that? That's like asking a stranger to hold on to your IPhone while you go to the restroom. It simply isn't done. You know what the end result will be. There is no writing service out there that can deliver the same kind of paper that you could, as the student who actually attended the class, listened to the lectures, and did the research himself. That is why the "preview" was decent. The writer probably had a basic foundation on the topic, but not enough knowledge and expertise to actually get your paper done at the quality that was expected.

The bottom line is this, if you want to be sure to get a good grade, then move some things around in your schedule so you can actually do the work yourself. That is why there is that saying, "If you want it done right, do it yourself."

Don't use a writing service that is not reputable. While you will get the paper done, you will not really know the quality of the paper that will be delivered to you until it has been delivered. If you are not satisfied with the work, you will have to undergo countless revisions until the writer "almost" gets it right enough to submit to your professor. By then, you might be even be late for your deadline. In which case, you will have wasted your money on a paper that did not help you.

As a part time worker, you do get coffee breaks at the very least right? It isn't really a problem to do research for your paper even through your cellphone these days. Wifi is everywhere. When you get home from work, try to review the material you researched / bookmarked and try to write at least one paragraph a night or whenever you have a pocket of time. Your phone or tablet has a built in program that can do that. You will find that somehow, the paper will magically write itself.

Believe me, writing services are not worth the money you pay for it. I have never heard of a person who has found satisfaction in work from those services. You just need to practice time management by fully using the time packets that you have throughout the day. A writing service is a cop-out. You won't learn anything from the class and assigned homework if you have someone else do it for you. That defeats the purpose of going to school in the end.

I've always loved reading on various topics. I found that I had a natural knack for retaining information regarding academic topics that I hoped to discuss with other people. None of my friends were interested in the topics I wanted to discuss though so eventually, I found myself blogging just so I could get my opinions and researched information out of my head. From that point, I began interacting with other people through the comments section on my blog. From there, it took very little to convince me to give academic writing a try. I tried it a few times and found myself falling more and more in love with the intricacies of academic writing. I came to realize that I was learning more than I ever did while in school. I enjoyed what I was doing, specially since I was expanding my own knowledge in the process. Lately, I have found that my passion for academic writing has not waned. It has only gotten stronger because I continuously learn, without ever having to set foot in school to gain the knowledge that I find interesting to learn about.

I am not sure why you thought that using a writing service would be the solution to your problem. These sites are always looking for ways to scam innocent students of their money by offering lucrative and nice sounding writing deals. They make promises that they cannot keep and they know it. Their writers are not even native English speakers even though they claim these people have PhD certificates. Don't be fooled, they can barely put one sentence together in English. For graduate school students who are facing problems in researching or writing your paper, the answer does not lie in these companies. Instead, seek the help of the writing center in your university. The people working there are dedicated to helping you with the development of your paper and can point you in the right direction when it comes to your writing and research problems. Now, if the problem is in the amount of time that you have to accurately develop the paper, nothing beats going straight to the professor, explaining the situation, then asking if you can be given a little leeway with which to submit the paper. A deadline extension is normally considered by the professor depending upon the extenuating circumstances the student cites as the reason that there is a problem with delivering the paper on time.
