Students tend to be lazy when it comes to writing their papers. They can barely get through reading their class ebooks, which is why they find great value in audio books. The more technology progresses, the lazier the students get. Their textbooks are read aloud to them like toddlers, their memorization is compromised and their listening skills barely improve. The same goes for their essay writing skills. They tend to do one of two things these days:
1. Have AI write the paper for them then have a human paid editor polish the paper. In this case, the student does not have any idea regarding what information the paper contains if he does not bother to read it before submission .
2. Write the paper themselves, have AI polish it, get a lousy grade, then hire a human to write the paper for the student properly.
In both cases, the students barely makes an effort to write the paper and they do not show any care for the quality of the paper they will be submitting for grading. At this rate, I do not know what to say to encourage students to write the papers themselves or at least participate in the writing process. While they will benefit from writing the paper themselves, they actually have yet to figure out the benefit of this practice for themselves. Only the most dedicated learners seem to be willing to write their papers on their own with minimal to no help.
