However, even some of the best of those companies do also hire ESL writers.

Always working an angle . . . . Always trying to find a way to take a jab at legit companies . . . . Perhaps I should revisit all of the many, MANY reasons not to hire freelance writers?

@Smiley73

With all due respect, you don't know what you're talking about, so please stop spreading false information. Where a company is located -- particularly in THIS industry -- has proven to be extremely telling and critical. Have you ever heard of CONSUMER-PROTECTION LAWS in the US? Well, such laws either do not exist or are not enforced in Kenya, Ukraine, Russia, India, Philippines, Pakistan, etc. Plus, 99% of the owners of sites/companies in Kenya, Ukraine, Russia, India, Philippines, Pakistan, etc. are not qualified to judge "writing quality" in the English language. So, what makes you think that they can/will hire qualified writers even if they want to do so?

Vickie, your argument is trash. Period. You have no right to force your crooked, immoral perspectives and assumptions on unsuspecting customers. If you lie and misrepresent, you are a FRAUD. You can dance around that fact all you like, but you're a fraud. That you may be among the .01% of foreign frauds who can actually carry a written tune in the English language is absolutely irrelevant. Customers deserve -- and you are legally obligated to advertise/communicate -- the truth. Customers shouldn't have to play Russian roulette with a fuly-loaded Gatling gun every time they look for a service provider.

This is actually white supremacy at its best.

Take that Antifa bulls--t somewhere else.

The crutch always comes out when there are no more legs on which to stand.

BTW, genius, the largest scale fraud in the industry originates in Ukraine. Try reading the countless threads in the forum about Ukrainian fraud. Is "white supremacy" involved, genius?

I know WritersBeware posted her research here and it was very useful to bring awareness to the problems.

Thanks for the shout. I don't waste my time posting truly valuable information and investigation results here any more because I was disrespected by the "new moderator." He/She accused me of being mean to so many totally "innocent, polite visitors who didn't deserve it" and actually caused people to leave the forum. No recognition or appreciation whatsoever for my countless threads and posts for many years. So, I gave him/her exactly what he/she wanted: I LEFT.

Anyway, I am always eager to join in any effort to take down the "big picture" scams. Google is clearly doing nothing about them.

Smiley73, have you not studied the forum at all? You are entirely missing the point. Nobody's claiming that all ESL writers are incompetent. Nobody's claiming that they don't have a place in the industry (if specifically requested by a client). The problem is that the fraudulent companies from Ukraine, Pakistan, India, and the Philippines misrepresent their 95% ESL, incompetent writers as "native English-speaking, American writers with Master and PhD degrees from American universities." That is fraud. Period.

If I pay a Porsche dealer for a suped-up Porsche, but he delivers a used Subaru to my house, I'm going to be pretty damn pissed. That's been their game since 2005.

@aplusman
Dude, you can barely communicate in English.

This place is a complete joke without me calling out the ESL charlatans and criminal organizations that post here.

The garbage in this thread is a perfect example of why I don't post here any more, unless I wish to publish updates about large-scale hacking.

Essay Services / New essay sites from Pakistan [44]

The registered owner of the SPAM site, studenthomeworkrelief.com, is "Tahm Hormozdyaran."
The site is filled with lies about its writers' qualifications and experience, as well as STOLEN "HackerSafe" logos.
There are too many other acts of deception to list here.
Studenthomeworkrelief.com is a clear rip-off operation.

Wordpress seems to be the main target, but that may simply be because Wordpress in the most common blogging platform.

The attacks are definitely not isolated to Wordpress. The Ukrainian criminals send out "hacking bots" to scan millions of sites per day in search of various vulnerabilities. When the bot finds a vulnerable site that it can exploit, it inserts either redirection code or parasite pages with links to the criminals' own essay sites. Either way, the hacked site's traffic gets hijacked and sent to the Ukrainian criminals. For example, check out the search results for "essayworld buy cheap." Keep in mind that they do the exact same thing to literally MILLIONS of Web sites using literally hundreds of millions of possible keyword combinations. They are running an extremely intricate, well-orchastrated, criminal hacking operation. If caught, they can and will spend a very long time in prison.

They also attack other popular blogging and content management systems (CMS), such as Joomla. For example, if you view the source code of the home page of aog.es (one of the hacked sites listed in the Google search results that I linked in my previous post), you will see the following in the header:

meta name="generator" content="Joomla! - Open Source Content Management"

In my opinion, blogging and CMS providers should not be allowed to include such "generator" tags because it is one of the most common ways for hackers to identify potentially vulnerable sites. It makes the hackers' job much easier. It's like screaming at the top of the Internet mountain, "Hey, my security sucks! Hack me first, please!"

I have an update. The Ukrainian criminals are engaging in illegal "parasite hosting," which is described in the following article:

cognitiveseo.com/blog/7255/defend-against-serp-hijacking-before-you-lose-your-rankings/

The article describes how to identify the criminal attackers, fix your hacked site, and protect your site(s) from future attacks.

NOTES ABOUT WORDPRESS:

1. If your site (or part of your site) is running Wordpress, be sure to update to the latest version! That is critical! Old versions of Wordpress have severe vulnerabilities that hackers exploit.

2. You can also make your site hack-proof simply by installing one of the following FREE plug-ins:

wordpress.org/plugins/wordfence/
wordpress.org/plugins/better-wp-security/

Each one is rated very highly and gets updated regularly in order to handle all new threats that emerge.

Writing Careers / what about freelancercareers.com [40]

The moderator often "breaks up" domain names that spammers include in posts (which makes ESL spammers' posts even more difficult/confusing to read). In this particular case, the domain name involves "skill" and "essay." (= essayskills com)

If it were me, I would simply delete SPAM posts, but the mod obviously finds some sort of SEO value in them. (from mod: or wants forum members to actually see all the posts, even if they were spam)

Abuse city . . . . There's no point in implementing any feature that can be a easily gamed/abused. I'm quite certain that's why it has not already been implemented.

standard assumption that students will use 12 point Arial or Times New Roman with double line spacing

That is correct. However, what is dirty about PrescottPapers' claim is that "Times New Roman[,] 12[-]point font" (with default margins in MS Word) results in approximately 300 words per page. "Courier New, 12-point font" (which is a huge, non-academic font) results in approximately 250 words per page. Fraudulent and/or deceptive sites/companies use Courier New because it enables them to falsely claim -- and mislead potential customers into believing -- that their price per "page" is better/cheaper than the old, established companies (or any other service provider that actually uses Times New Roman).
