Both companies have a problem keeping orders coming into their servers. Both have also been releasing their low performing writers from their freelancer agreements with the companies. The reason is pretty much the same for both, there are not enough orders coming into the companies to justifiy the large writer's pool. They are keeping only their top tier writers active at this point. Even that is becoming difficult since there are more writers than there are orders. This has led these companies to further intensify their fining system since the owners of the company want to pay themselves first, the writer's second. Even their top writers have said that they get fined at least 25% of their completed fees every payment schedule these days. It is not worth it to work for academic writing companies these days. Definitely work for yourself in the same arena if you can. You might earn something that way.

The company itself has a confusing image on the internet. Since the company carries the same name as a marketing office, people looking for jobs tend to get mixed up and end up working in areas they were not expecting to work in. There are some people who apply for jobs hoping to become academic writers, and they end up as marketers instead. There are those hoping to become marketers, who get hired to write essays. All because the company names are the same. Well, I hope somebody calls the attention of the owners of these companies to the confusion the company names provide and one or both of them make a move to fix this situation to help the people apply for the correct jobs.

The market for prewritten papers has not died, it merely changed venues. Rather than companies that specialize in the sale of pre-written essays such as Academon, the academic writing companies have decided to include their previously written papers in their database of "model papers" for sale to students looking to write their own papers, but wish to save time on researching or having to do extra work to complete their papers. The pre-used essays being sold by these companies are about 2 or 3 years old, still qualified as references for current research papers. Some students just rewrite the information as they read it, believing that they are creating fresh papers in the process. Others, use only bits and pieces to complete their original paper. So the academic writing companies that dabble in used research paper sales still manage to make money, even when their regular orders for original papers are few and far between.

All of the writers who work in a relevant industry are real writers. Writers who pretend to be extra ordinarily skilled in a multitude of subjects that they have no educational training in would not be fake writers but could be questionable writers. Fake writers are those who cannot string together a coherent English sentence, use cut and paste as a writing technique, and thing that plagiarism is acceptable in any form. Writers who do not disclose their actual English level (ESL v. ENL) are not fake writers, but are not trustworthy either. It is important to understand that there are no fake writers, only writers who embellish upon or lie about their actual credentials.

I have to question the way that the company assigns the writers to the orders. I am puzzled by the payment method as well. Since the client is allowed to pay in installments, and pay only for the work provided thus far, I believe that there is a strong possibility that different writers could be assigned to complete the paper. One writer per section paid for. Sure the client supposedly chooses the writer based on a bidding system, that is no assurance that the same writer will be assigned to work on the essay from beginning to end. That is the main problem with installment payments. The writer will get paid regardless of the degree of the project he has completed rather than being paid for successfully completing the project. The prices are also too low as far as I am concerned. These prices indicate a budget company that probably has only ESL writers on staff rather than truly reliable and highly educated ENL writers. I do not think a student should hire this company based on the installment payment come on alone.

Essay Services / Help regarding research paper [14]

There are actually several engineering specific writing websites available online these days. The student just has to type in the specific keyword into a search engine to have it return relevant results. These companies seem to be new to the business though and do not really have much of a reputation yet. The student will have to do his own investigation before hiring the company due to the lack of online references and reviews for the companies from their clients. There is also the option of directly hiring a writer with a background in engineering but there is a great risk involved in that since the writer may not be upfront about his actual engineering knowledge and writing skills. It is more difficult to tell when the independent writer is using a smokescreen to convince the client to hire him , or not. That is not to say that the same risk does not exist when hiring a writer through a company but, there may be lesser risk involved since he will have been required to include his diploma / certificate and transcript when he was given the opportunity to work with the company.

This was definitely a declaration of war on the part of the OP. It is just too bad that she was not able to continue with this crusade on the forum. Even the people she mentioned in her post seem to have retired from the business some time ago. So I cannot really consider this quest successful. Rather, it died a natural death since she dropped the cause for an unknown reason. The writers she mentioned also left the forum eventually without ever saying why they left publicly. So maybe consider this post a warning? Do not believe all of the crusaders just as we should not believe all of the writer's claims. Each of them have their own vested interests in battling it out with each other. Neither of them are really looking out for the student, just their images in relation to client recruitment.

I paid a visit to madpapers.com and discovered something refreshing for a change. It is a company that honors academic integrity and does not write the papers for the students. Even their homework help section does not do the work for the student but merely guides them towards proper learning and solution development. The company might have started out as an academic writing company but has definitely evolved from that service into a far more qualified student assistance / consultation company that actually helps the students learn, instead of passing a course by passing the work onto paid writers. It is an admirable and commendable website as far as I am concerned because it adheres to academic integrity. This is one company that can function worldwide and never have to worry about being flagged as a scam site. Maybe it started out as one, but it most certainly isn't one now. Students seeking academic help, rather than having someone do their academic work for them will do well to visit this site to get on the right path towards learning and paper development.

@a1writer can you help me out here? For some reason I am unable to access any of the sites connected with the company that you are affiliated with. Can you inform their tech support about this problem? I would like to leave fair comments and reviews for the affiliated sites but I am unable to do so because of the problem with connecting to the site itself. I do not know why but it appears my IP address is blocked from accessing the server. Is there any way I can coordinate with your office to fix this problem? I cannot access this site on any browser for some reason. Can you help me get to the bottom of it? Surely there are also some students who are unable to access these sites for the very same reason. Helping me would help them as well.

How was it possible to find reviews for this website when it appears to have been offline for some time now? Somebody correct me if I am wrong because I cannot access this site using any of my browsers. I always get a name not resolved error when I try to connect to the link. If I am right, then the reviews that were found for this site are no longer useful to the students. Even if the site is still active for some people, the fact that it does not have a high review rating, and it does not seem to be popular among the student clients, should indicate that this is a website may prove to be problematic should they opt to deal with it. It cannot be that the site is still building its reputation after more than a year in existence, if it still is in existence.

The reputation of this company as a plagiarism expert is what led to its disappearance from the academic writing business. They never could get their writer's to churn out original papers because they hired non-college graduates and ESL people to do the job. These are 2 elements for a failing academic writing business. They never had a chance to gain traction in the business because they never had good employees to begin with. The student's eventually realized this and they really worked on spreading the negative reputation of this company through digital word of mouth. I cannot say I was sorry to discover that the company was gone. They never tried to provide good services anyway. The company is no loss to the students and to the industry.

The company is now dealing with professional document writing under their new name and affiliat website, PolicyPros.UK. Reading the services offered by the new website, it appears that they no longer offer academic writing services and have branched out into far more professional writing for companies and other executive level professionals. I would consider this a good thing if I could be sure that an academic writing inquiry to their company will not result in a sure acceptance of their academic writing order. They never disavowed writing academically for anybody even though they do overemphasize that they only do certain types of professional writing services. Is the company still located in Pakistan? I do not doubt it since the 2 urls are still connected. This could be indicative of the same people still running the company with an revised company service objective / focus.

Writing Careers / How to avoid dishonest clients? [20]

All of these electronic banking formats are what causes the problem with payments. Has no one ever given thought to simply asking the client to pay in cash via money transfer service? Yes, I know it is old school but the services do still exist. It is a bit inconvenient to pay since one would have to go to a remittance center to send the money to the writer but, it pays off in the long run. For one thing, the client gets some private information off the writer that he can use in case he wants to take up the writer on legal charges. For another thing, the writer is assured that there is no possibility of a chargeback claim due to fraud since the order was paid for in cash. In this case, the exchange of information provides a safety net on both sides that I would like to think some people would agree with.

Since the new academic year is just taking off, I would not want to rank any existing essay writing company at the moment. Whether official or unofficial, it is difficult to say that one company is better than the other since each student will have a different working experience with each of them. Internet search rankings cannot be trusted since these placements are usually paid for by the company either in a direct or indirect advertising manner. Basing the list on anybody's personal assessment is also questionable since it is not uncommon for these companies to pay bloggers to advertise for them as well. The more prominent the blog listing, the higher that blogger is paid. Even this list is tainted as far as I am concerned. Students should not concern themselves with company rankings anyway. It is the final output of the writers from these companies that matters and nobody will be able to assess that until they actually use the service.

The company filings for this foreign owned company dates back to 2013 as being registered in New Jersey. Not much can be learned about the company beyond the publicly listed information. I did manage to get some information regarding the way the company functioned and it appears that they have some of the lowest cpp in the business and their writers admitted to being perhaps the lowest paid as well. Oh, the writers were also treated badly if they were not located in the United States. There was a discrepancy between the salaries paid and the way the officers of the company dealt with non ENL members of the company. Collecting wages was also an issue with them so it is no surprise that there was a point during their existence that they also had problems with their server and other business related issues. They just did not know how to run the business. The company is no longer in existence as far as I can tell. The domain name is currently up for sale.

The website has gone down since the last time somebody checked on it. The anchor page only states "Coming Soon" now. It implies that the site is undergoing some sort of renovation in terms of presentation or services. The problem, is that they have been in coming soon mode for more than a year now. So either they are coming back or, they have given up due to all the negative publicity they have received in the past. Currently, it does not look like the company will be coming back. I do not believe they will be "coming" back anytime "soon". I have a hunch they are trying to sell the business at this point. It is the only explanation I can think of for the place holder on the site.

I tried to access this website in the hopes of being able to add to the comments in this discussion. While the link can be opened in a browser, there is no website attached to it at this point. It is not that the website has been taken down, it is just that the domain name has expired and the original owner or web administrator has not bothered to renew the name for their company use yet. Will the domain name be reconnected to the company at some point? Maybe yes, maybe no. It is possible that this is a superflouous name registration and the business still exists under other names, so losing one domain name would not be a problem. Perhaps it was a fiscal tightening move on the part of the company owner. Nobody really knows. What is sure is that the students will not be facing any problems with this company, using this domain name for now.

You have taken all the right steps so far. Since the Essay Mill law is in place in the UK, why not look into reversing the table on them by using the law to your advantage? I have heard that the law penalizes the company and not the student so why not be the test case for it? Surely there is something you can legally do to shut them up. You have confirmed that the company exists at its listed UK address right?

As for what else you can do to warn the students here, there is something you can do that will help. Publish the company name, writer name, and other information you may have about them at this forum in a new thread. Information is the best tool that we have to fight these scammers. Additionally, you can keep us updated about the investigation results. That would help keep the students away from them as well.

Everyone deserves a chance to pursue a career that he believes he can excel in. He had every right to pursue this career if he chose to do so, regardless of what others may think about his writing skills, what questions they may have about his educational level, or even what country he actually comes from. None of these matter when a person wishes to pursue a career. Let's forget about the writing industry for a moment and look at how real world employment works in relation to foreign nationals. Having foreign workers in various professions worldwide is nothing new. They also had to start at the bottom and work their way up. They got paid commensurate to their skillset. They were hired based on the need of the company for people of his skills. He was imported to the new country to meet that need. An academic writer is similar to those foreign workers. They have to prove themselves worthy of the job that they are doing, which allows them to charge the rights they deserve to be paid. He can be considered a foreign worker who works for an international company if he opts to work for an academic company at the start of his career. Then, just like other foreign workers, he can move on to other career opportunities as his skills develop. Does he need to be transpared and tell the student he is not a native English speaker? Transparency is best. The student should interview him and make sure he is fit for the task before hiring him anyway.

General Talk / threatening a customer or not [190]

I would not say that there has been a spate of student client blackmails these days but, there have actually been 2 cases of extortion reported here by students. These happened during the off season / summer vacation season. They were threatened with academic exposure both times, but only one actually had a more creative blackmailer who was even willing to negotiate a lower price. It is highly unfortunate that due to the way the academic writing business is conducted, it is difficult for the students to bring these criminals to justice. Not having an actual office location is a benefit to the scammers. As for the 2 students, they have not added to the information placed here so the assumption could be one of 2 things:

1. They paid off the blackmailer due to their fear of being found out.
2. They successfully ignored the threats based on useful advice from other users at this forum.

Will these types of scams ever disappear? I doubt it. There will always be criminal minds that are willing to do anything illegal for a quick financial turn around.

I have actually met some students who have used the services of this company. They seem partially satisfied with the service most of the time. They mainly complain about how the QAD of the company does not seem to be paying attention to their jobs. They often receive papers with some missing information, lacking in accurate references, as well as spelling and sentence formation errors. Since the company does not sell their services cheaply, the students have high expectations of the service. Instead, they are left to deal with unresponsive writers and a client support department that earnestly listens to their problems and complains, then tells them that they cannot do anything about it until a formal complaint is filed. Then it will take about 2 weeks for a resolution. Not exactly the kind of company that a student would want to deal with for a full semester.

There is always a risk when living a custom essay service. If Lady Luck smiles upon you, then you get an excellent paper from a reliable winter. Otherwise, you get a paper from hell. The latter being easily avoidable if the student just taken the bother to check out the reviews of the company or freelance writer before hiring one or the other. The hiring experience is also based on the due diligence of the student. Do not base it on cheap prices or guarantees on the company site. Always look to the experience of others with the company or writer before closing the deal.

It is important to note that this company is no longer in existence. It does not perform any type of academic services as far as I can tell. This is a conclusion I base on the fact that the domain name is selling for a whopping $3195 on HugeDomains.com. I believe that the domain name squatting price is too high considering the lack of value that the name carries. For a potential academic writing company to purchase the name at that price, the name should at least come with an assurance of a qualified and reliable image. This company obviously cannot lay claim to either. Therefore, the company selling the name has overpriced this url immensely.

I also found out that the company does not rate well with the students and their own writers because of their lack of writer support and client support / services. Rather than assisting both sides in communicating during rush or emergency situations, they instead sit back and tells one or the other party to just sit tight and wait for a response from the writer / client. What the H kind of client service / writer support is that? They may as well give the writer the direct email address of the client or give the client the writer's phone number to call if they cannot be bothered to do their jobs. What for are the parties paying them to be the middlemen if they cannot even perform communication facilitation duties?

The company uses paid review services for their ratings at other rating sites. This is proven by the conflicting statements the "reviewer" provides in his statements. The claim that the writers are treated fairly and paid market level wages comparative to a direct hire freelancer is contradicted by how, in the next paragraph, the writer claims that the writer support department makes their work harder, and that unfair penalties are applied without reason or cause. The writers try to find out why these are applied but receive no response. It is safe to assume that they are even scamming the reviews for their own website !

I find it strange that someone on sitejabber has claimed to have been able to visit their London office when they are not acknowledging any location for the company on their website. They are very careful about avoiding any actual location identifiers. The most they admit to is being a family owned company, nothing more. It is difficult to deal with a company that has a big secret. This is one company that should be within the target range of @a1writer since it is obviously making a false claim that it is located in the UK and have UK based writers. Since that law was passed, the writing companies in the UK, both online and offline have starting diversifying their businesses into consultations. They know they will face legal ramifications for writing academic papers of any sort. This is a company that is bold faced lying about who they are and where they are located. The company formerly had a Facebook page that screamed accolades of their services, as well as another review page that was also taken down. No doubt the company was receiving negative reviews for their work on those pages and they were being kept busy deleting said comments.

Based on the fact that they are not familiar with the legal problems that a .uk address could rain upon their heads based on offering writing services openly, it is safe to assume that they are not based in the UK, do not have UK based nor educated writers, and they are trying to fool the student into working with them. Remember, there is a reason they refuse to give their actual physical location in their About page. That is the red alert sign if ever there was one.

My aim, as per the purpose of this forum, is to protect students from freelance writers and essay companies whom I deem unreliable for various reasons.

This is an aim that I share with you. I try my best to share information to the best of my abilities but am often challenged by his likes simply because he believes that anybody who says anything on this forum is working against him. There is a problem with the way he views the other participants here.

He is not working along the lines of the forum objectives because he views other freelancers at this forum as competition. He sees this forum as his personal hunting ground just because he pays to advertise. He is not one who believes in fair play nor fair competition. Which is why he is pointing the students towards the companies he used to work for, without actually naming them. He can only hope the students stumble across his companies and he gets the work order that way.

I can only presume that he has gone back to company attached academic writing because he is not getting any clients for himself based on the way he has been acting and actively lying at this forum. Of course he will not admit that and will instead attack yet again based on "unfounded claims", showing he does not understand what "presume" means.

Students know better than to trust a person who retracts his statements for recalibration when he realizes his exaggerations will and have gotten him into trouble.

The company makes this ridiculous claim that "Freelance writers are not properly trained to research and write quality academic essays". They also claim that they have a regular staff of writers that produce papers only for their company. Both sound like BS to me but I would like to focus on the first BS reference from the company for now. They claim that freelance writers are not capalbe of writing academic essays, which we all know is a bold faced lie because all freelancers are capable of writing any sort of paper as dictated by the client. I am not talking about ESL writers here but the true academic writers who have at least a 4 year college degree. They also make claims that other company writers / freelancers are not trained for the job, yet they fail to qualify their writers by indicating what sort of training they provide to their "in-house" writers. There are too many flase claims in their presentation that, if I were to take a fine tooth comb to, they would have actually provided evidence of their fraudulent services by their own words.

Wow! That is an amazing discovery. If you want things to calm down, then call his bluff. Name him directly in this forum (to warn other students) and link to the reviews that speak of his bad intentions and services. If you are using a pay as you go number, then I suggest changing you number or blocking his number/s as they come in. Never answer unknown numbers. If possible, change your email address. Delete the current email which I hope, is not a school related email account. By naming him, you will be able to push him into a defensive corner or make him stop totally. You have to reverse the tables on him somehow. Cutting him off is a start.

Do not be afraid to fight for yourself. Do not be afraid that the university will find out. They never will. That is the con of these scammers. They play the long game of threats and blackmail hoping to wear you down into giving them what they want. Sometimes, you just have to fight back. This is one time you should consider that.

Not that you are asking me but I thought I would throw my ten cents into this latest post of yours. It sounds like you were scammed by the company and writer. They are one and the same. You were dealing with an independent writer who was using a company name as his cover. He is both the writer and the consultant you are speaking with. Now you have let him know that your email is active and that you were just ignoring his previous messages using a fraudulent email account. I believe you have gone from bad to worse in this situation.

If you would like to listen to other advice, I believe it would be best for you to not coordinate any efforts with the writing company at this point. It will serve no purpose. They will ask you to pay the writer a lower fee to stop the blackmail. He is trying to negotiate something with you under false pretenses, a new false alias. Stop dealing with this person and let it go. Ignoring the person is your best defense. Communicating in any way just gives them a new venue to try a new money fleecing tactic on you.

There is no need to disclose your actual location to us. All that matters is that you are not in the UK and you are not covered by that particular law. I wish you had done more than just corrected grammar issues in the work you paid for though. Actually rewording a majority of the content would have negated the paid work. Allowing you to reference it as a "model paper" if you were asked about it.

what if they actually do something about it?

Since you cannot disprove that you submitted the paper for a grade, then you may be brought up on charges of academic misconduct / dishonesty resulting in either suspension or expulsion. It will depend on the way the academic council would view the seriousness of your actions. As a first timer, maybe a suspension will be applied. Nobody can be sure.

I haven't and I just don't want to reply to their message

Good move. Keep ignoring the writer. Block his email or send it directly to spam. Interaction of any sort will embolden him. He is just testing the waters for now.

is there a smart way I could handle the situation if my school ever asks me about it?

Coming clean and admitting guilt is always beat. That is if you are aiming for leniency since you do not have a valid defense. Trying to claim innocence about not knowing that hiring academic writers and submitting the work for a grade was an academic offense will not fly. IMO, the model paper defence would have been the best defense. When cornered, be honest. It should help the outcome of the investigation.

Do not worry though. I sincerely believe it will not come to that. Just continue to ignore the writer. He will eventually quit contacting you.

Are you a UK based student? If you are then there are 2 problems facing you in this situation. The first is possible expulsion due to academic dishonesty and the second, would be repercussions of filing legitimate charges against the company. Either way, if you are a UK based student, you will have to face the consequences of your actions. Do not try to reason with the blackmailer. Come clean with the academic and law enforcement authorities. These defense lines are the only ones available to you, although both could wien your future. Think of it this way, you will be saving future students by allowing yourself to become an example.

Now, if you are not covered by UK law but happened to have hired a UK writer /company then just ignore them. You paid the company and that is Where your client responsibility ends. Other countries do not have strict rules about academic writers for hire and the schools have bigger problems than trying to prove academic dishonesty.

According to the grapevine, this company only has 6 active writers on staff that try to cover all of the bases when it comes to writing assignments. So my guess is they have let go of their writers pool and the owners of the company are the ones left doing the writing jobs. So they can charge whatever they want for the total order, not necessarily per page anymore. It is difficult to say if the company provides good services at this pont. It is good to know that it is a legitimate US registered and located business though. That is a good start.

@a1writer Self publicity may be different from the truth. He may act confident and insist his business is successful when the exact opposite could be the reality. His age old website does not evoke a sense of confidence in a modern student. It is too self centered and does not really consider the client's needs. Specially since no prices are mentioned for even the most basic services he might be offering. Students need specifics these days. They also need more engaging websites to deal with. I do not think his website works as effectively as his self promotion at this forum. Which is why he is more focused here than on heightening the profile of his website or increasing his social media presence like the others have successfully done.

I am British, graduated from a British University, and resident in Britain

These personal qualifications are what now exclude British born and bred writers from participating in academic writing companies. The current regulations disallow the opening of an essay writing company physically or within the realm of the internet. That is not to say that the writers cannot work for companies that exist outside of Britain, but offer writing services to British or UK based students. The problem, is that working for these companies could be problematic for the UK based writer. Now, while he may not work for companies, I do not believe that the cannot advertise his services on social media platforms as a writing consultant, and figuring a way around the rule that way. A consultant does not write the paper, but he can "advice" regarding content improvement by offering "Samples" to the student.

Neither of the websites are accessible at this point. The .com name is currently for sale from GoDaddy.com. They basically parked on the address, squatting, for want of a better term, to sell it at a higher price. I doubt anybody is interested in buying it because if anyone was interested, the domain would have sold by now. I am inclined to believe that the .us address was somehow related to the .com name since both are now offline. You just cannot keep a lousy academic website up and running I guess. It has to fold shop at a certain point. Regardless of how many url / domain names the company holds.

Okay, as far as I can tell, this company is no longer in existence. It has an error regarding name not resolved when I try it in 3 browsers. I am not sure if I am being blocked from accessing the site (a situation that exists for me with regards to UKEssays that seems to remain unresolved), or if the site is totally offline. Running a Google search of the company name shows cached pages with regards to the information but, I cannot get the pages to load for me for some reason. Are the academic companies blocking certain IP's from accessing their sites? if so, why?
