General Talk / Blackmailed by writer [19]

Having the OP say that he is an idiot for hiring an anonymous writer from this forum is an insult to the legitimate writers that come here to support students and their fellow writers. In my opinion, what makes the OP an idiot is that he hired a writer without doing a background check and making him undergo an extensive vetting process prior to hiring his services. Based on the grammar and English skills of the OP, I can see why this might happen. He was probably reached out to by the writer instead of the other way around. He hired him based on trust and the hope that this writer would actually help him. I am saddened by the fact that he came across a scammer at this forum instead.

I wonder what sort of profession the OP actually ended up in later on. His language does not lend itself to the formality of the academic writing styles that English based institutions use. He did not display any writing skills that would have given the readers any confidence or trust in his post. He had nothing going for him in this post except bravado. Which does not mean he should be paid well for his skills. If anything, it should have dissuaded the students and companies that frequent this site from hiring him.

There is always something to be said about the honesty of writing sites that enter into partnerships with a freelance writer. The time will come when the company might not be able to pay the writer on-time, specially in todays financial condition of writing companies. Some might even renegotiate their writing deals with independent writers. The reality of the situation is that when these things happen, that does not mean the writer is being fooled by the company or that the company is dishonest, it just means the company is also struggling to meet the payroll.

Some writers try to blackmail the student into paying for the paper, which is just as bad, if not worse than not paying for the paper. That has been the go to method of some dishonest writers. Others, will just consider it a learning experience. I would pursue all legal means of collecting on the debt. I would send collection letters, upscale that to a lawyer for collection purposes, then finally, use a collecting agency (budget providing). When all else fails, I would post the name of the person at forums such as these to warn the other writers not to deal with this person.

SEO is dead. Search engines are barely making advertising revenue these days because businesses have changed advertising platforms. From the days of SEO ranking, we have now arrived at the age of advertisement boosting through paid visibility. If you are willing to pay the social media sites the advertising rates they want, then their data will target specific audiences to boost your visibility. Does that mean you will get more clients? That will still depend upon the type of service that you offer.

We can try to convince the students today that they should write the essays themselves, or that they should hire a human writer to help them out until we are blue in the face. The truth is, technology has made it way too easy for students to not even care about writing their own essays anymore. Just punch in some keywords into an AI and it will spit out an essay for the student. The problem is that the student is not even going to check the AI essay for accuracy, validity, and proper content. They will simply pass the paper to their teacher and then complain about their grade.

I do not believe that the OP was threatened by a legitimate writing company. The legitimate companies would never risk their good image by involving themselves in student blackmail. They know that their company relies on the good relationship they have and the trust that the students have given the company and its service. This student was more than likely hired by a competitor company to misrepresent himself at this forum as a victim. Note that he could not publicly disclose the name of the company. That makes his claims questionable in my book.

The companies used to have several partner companies to help them keep their taxes low, prevent students from going to other essay writing companies, and also, allowed them to bury their negative image companies. It was all about protecting the company from charge back situations and trying to keep as many students hiring the same company, without their knowledge. The owners thought this was a good business practice until the writers got wise to it. They began to realize that the companies were owned by the same people, who were paying them less, depending upon which portal they were signed up to as writers.

I am not sure if this is true for all writers but I have heard that some independent writers have had to cut their costs in order to keep their existing clients or win new clients who would much rather have AI write their papers. It is not a matter of skill anymore, it is a matter of if AI can do it for free, why should I hire a human to do the work for me? There is less risk in having AI write the paper so I am not interested in hiring a human. That is the mindset that has led to the constant lowering of the CPP for human writers.

Writing Careers / SENIOR writer - what does it mean? [10]

A senior writer could also be one of the owners of the company. He is given this title as a part of his supervisory position. It does not mean that he knows how to write or that he writes well. It just means that he has a stake in the company and probably knows how to discern a well written paper from a shabby one. Yes, it also could mean a long time associate writer of the company. However, not all writers can stay that long as a company to earn that title these days.

You can actually use AI more effectively to track down the plagiarized sections far better than if you used a plagiarism checker. Since AI does a sweep of the internet sources, you will receive a copy of each instance that the plagiarized text appears on the web. The problem, is the AI cannot discern which of those is the true original source of the document. That s the same problem that the plagiarism checkers had before. Apparently technology cannot fix that problem that easily.

It is difficult to say that a writer who works for himself would have a wider skillset than a writer who works for a company. An independent writer tends to stay within his comfort zone, rarely challenging himself to write about topics and subjects that he could be unfamiliar with. A company attached writer, sees the orders, considers the CPP and decides if he can challenge himself to write the topic and do it well. The skillset should not change in relation to the employment status.

There will always be times at the start of an independent writer's career when he will find himself not paid by the company or by the client. There is no way to successfully chase after the amount involved if you already submitted the paper to the client. Always remember, the paper is your best weapon when it comes to payment collection. Never release the paper unless you have received the full payment for the project. You can release partial sections of the paper, not in proper order, to the client as he pays as proof of work completed. Once the payment is complete, the total paper can be released to the client already.

While clients have tried to refund their credit card payments to me after I have submitted the paper to them, I have successfully staved off those attacks by simply being honest with the credit card company during the investigation process. Since the CC does not involve itself with these sorts of disputes, they tend to wash their hands of the situation and leave the money with me since their only concern is that the transaction was legitimate and not involved in any form of fraud.

There are always risks involved when hiring an essay writing service, regardless of it being a company or an independent writer. The only way to ensure that you get the best possible service for your needs is by making sure that you ask the right questions during the vetting process. You can sometimes catch the company or writer in their lie while talking to them. Recommendations from the users of this forum are not allowed and, can't really be relied upon because you might get a recommendation from some shill hired to promote their company at this forum. Yes, there are some sales people disguised as students here so be careful when you PM someone for inquiries.

The human freelance writing market is still saturated these days, even with the advent of AI written essays. Most of the newcomers to the market are college students who did their own writing while studying, They band together, form a company, then try to launch their writing services via Facebook and Instagram. Some of them pick up clients here and there, others are still playing the waiting game. It appears that the social media platforms are your best bet when it comes to trying to launch your independent writing career. You will need to be patient though and make sure that you have another source of regular income while waiting for your writing career to take off.

This is one strange website. It is not open to order placement. It acts as the writer's recruitment page for the company. However, when you try to apply as a writer, it tells you that they have a hiring freeze. So what is the use of this website then? Is it a case of a company that has gone out of business but has to ride out the server and domain name contracts? Does anybody know what is actually going on with this company?

Writing Careers / What we know about Kenyan Writers [33]

Use an AI to write your paper if your only other choice for writing your paper is a Kenyan writer. You would do much better with an AI spun paper rather than working with the biggest writing con artists on the planet. They continue to proliferate on social media, so do not hire writers who actively pursue you on soc med. These writers have gotten even worse over time. I would not recommend them to any student. I specially will not recommend them to a student who really needs help in passing his classes.

Most of the client that I had when I was still an active writer came from word of mouth. My quality of writing and the diverse fields that I could write about were such that students felt I could work miracle for them when it came to research and opinion papers. Most of the students that were referred to me were those who were close to failing the class already and needed to pass the semester. I somehow managed to deliver for them each time, which led to them referring me to their hopeless classmates.

I was never one to quickly refund a client after I had already delivered the paper. It was not because I did not want to do the refund, it was because I always investigated the reason for the refund request. I was always confident that I had delivered as the client had requested for his paper so I needed a more valid reason for a refund. Change of mind or "I did not like the writing style" were not reasons that I accepted for a paper refund. If he could prove that more than 40% of the paper was plagiarized, then I might consider it. Then again I always ran a plagiarism checked before submitting the paper so that was a difficult thing for them to prove as well. I had a survey form they needed to fill out if they wanted a refund. Those were the only reasons I would consider for the deal to be cancelled.

I agree that the original post was meant to spam the forum, advertise the non-existent writing skills of the OP, and try to gain attention based on made up information. That is not an example of an excellent job application letter. That is an example of the worst job application letter. Believe me, that letter will not get the applicant past the screening round. He won't even manage to get clients as a freelance writer, promoting himself via social media. That is not a useful fake application letter at all.

There will be instances when writers will approach students who post at this forum, offering their services. Do not deal with those writers. It is never a good idea to work with writers who approach you with quality promises. Instead, approach the writers who have a proven track record at this forum. Yes, I am asking the student to do his own research before hiring a writer by approaching the writer and negotiating his writing needs. That is the only way he can measure the credibility and ability of the writer to meet his needs.

Due to the inconsistent number of orders coming in to the companies these days, most of them tend to not pay the writers on time. That is because the company owners spend the money as it comes in to keep the company afloat. That means sacrificing the writers salaries more often than they should. Some even take to paying their writers in installments, causing back wages to line up for the company and eventually, leads to the non payment of writers before the company finally closes shop.

The two tier qad is no longer being implemented by writing companies as far as I know. It appears that the system was open to much abuse in the mid management and upper management levels. The writers started quitting and branching out by themselves, leaving the companies with more competitors than they expected. The system only works when dealing with neophyte writers who do not know better and are unfamiliar with the academic writing world. The seasoned ones knew when they were being abused and chose to do something about it.

Social media, linkedIn, Upwork, and other various independent social media channels have made it much easier for writers to pursue and accept clients on an independent basis. I would not suggest working for companies as a contacted writer these because (1) their HR department is not accepting applicants at the moment and (2) the price they offer the writers is not even going to pay your rent on a monthly basis. Try to develop a client base of your own using self promotion instead. That might give you a better income in the long run.

I have come to discover that most of the companies that contained in the DND list of this site have mostly left the writing business or are trying to sell their business. Their company image, the lack of writing orders, and the lack of qualified writers to work for these companies have all led to their company demise. It is not something that we expected to happen but it did. So the DND list is now useless.

The freelance writing industry is dying because of the advent of AI. It is not only the freelancers that are affected. The writing companies are also finding themselves in need of diversification in order to remain relevant or income generating in a world where AI takes over jobs faster than teachers can gain their teaching licenses. Freelance writers must diversify their client base and build new writing abilities in order to remain relevant in this industry. Find a place where AI writing is not involved and try to make your presence felt there.

Grammarly has lost its use in the modern era. Students have AI check their grammar, when they can be bothered to write their papers. That is why Grammarly recently turned to AI essay writing as a sub section of its business. The students do not bother to double check the grammar of AI written papers. They tend to believe the paper is perfect once it comes out of an AI program.

The writing companies today have further lowered the cost per page of their writers. That is because the students who have turned to AI for essay writing have not returned to the human writer marketplace yet. I am hopeful that they will return eventually. AI was never meant for menial tasks such as academic writing. It is meant for more intricate stuff and should not be used to replace actual human knowledge in areas where man is expected to learn so he can complete tasks.

It is always best to do due diligence when considering the hiring of a service, specially an academic writing service. The advice given at this forum is always sound and reliable. While debates arise during certain instances in relation to the credibility of a writer or a company, you can trust that you will be able to make a final decision you are comfortable with at the end.

There is no such thing as a one time payment with these blackmailers. I don't understand why he would go through with the deal considering the apprehensions that he already had. He got a gut feeling, a severe warning from his conscience, and yet, he followed through on this academically dangerous plan. If they do blackmail him, he brought it upon himself. Also, is he sure that we will not require their services during his academic career? Using an academic professional can be addicting for most students. That is how we make / made our living. If he is sniffed out by the university, since the entrance exam will be using an IP tracker, then he can kiss his academic studies goodbye. Most schools that use online exams have an IP tracker that is set to report back the location to the university and allows the system to block the "exam taker" from logging into the system. He will definitely get caught once the IP, regardless of their VPN provider, is pinged and reported. Tell your friend not to take what seems to be the easy way because the consequences affect his entire future. Take the test himself and hope that he passes. That is the best way.

Writing Careers / Writers: What do you say? [150]

When anyone asks me what I do for a living, I tell them that I am an academic editor. My main job is helping the students edit their already written paper. Perfecting it to get the highest possible grade for the class where they are struggling or, in the class they just want to do even better in. The people I spoke to were not really interested so much in what I did for a living because, they simply did not care. It was not something that was a focal point of any topic at the parties or gatherings I attended. They are always more interested in discussing the latest disaster that Trump has gotten himself into.

24 hours to complete a high quality paper used to be the norm for most writers in this business. 24 hours was considered plenty of lead time before the dawn of AI. In fact, there are some writers, myself included who could write a high quality 10 page paper for any client within 6-12 hours. However, only seasoned writers who are well skilled at quick research, and is familiar with the paper requirements can actually do that, without sacrificing the quality of the paper. 24 hours is plenty of time for the writer to write at least 30 pages in reality. So the 10 page, 24 hour requirement is a breeze for most of us.

There is no such thing as a credible writing company hiring writers these days. There are not enough orders to go around in any company. They are veering from writer hiring to AI essay development instead. The companies are going with the times and changing the way that they do business. They keep whatever human writers they have in their writing pool in case a student still wants to hire a writer, but that writer is taking a very heavy pay cut to stay on the roster. The companies make their money from the AI generated papers these days.

Well, they still the website under the same rules as before so it must be working for them. The fake reviews help the students choose among their company owned websites, allowing the con to run longer than it normally would have. They keep their hands clean and pretend to offer a useful service to the students. In a way, they came up with this to get around ES and the way that we review sites and warn students about the fraud companies.

I wonder how many students fell for this unenforceable agreement. The company made a promise then declared themselves non-liable for the plagiarism award claim. All they will do is help the student sue the writer in the writer's home country, which make the lawsuit more expensive than the paper that was plagiarized. That promise is total BS and students should have the common sense to not believe such promises.

The main consequence will be that, if the university receives information that he cheated on his entrance exam, that record will be shared across universities, effectively barring him from attending major colleges and universities in your country. The most education he can get at the highest level will probably be in the tech voc field where there are no entrance exams required. I am not sure if he can expect to be blackmailed at this point. The companies that use blackmail normally wait a few year in this case, before springing the con on the student.

That was just your company using different umbrella sites. Note that the companies should not be known to each other, even though all the orders end up on the same server. A student affiliate has an ID number or account number that he shares with the student he is referring so that the student can get a discount and the referee, gets a small percentage of the full order.

Are there any sites which let writers and customers come up with an individual price (similar to Elance or Guru)?

You can actually use the search function of this forum, or any of the sanctioned endorsement sections such as essay directory and essay chat, to reach out to independent writers singed up at this forum. They would be your best bet when it comes to negotiating individual prices.
