I believe that the main problem here is that the companies themselves misrepresent their writers as being ENL writers, when they actually have a majority of ESL writers on board. This is where the distrust stems from because the students eventually figure out that the company was lying to them and the writers were playing along by misrepresenting themselves as Americans through their online identities. That is why the students tend to "repel" the ESL writers.
