Customers who receive a poorly written paper get their money back and 50% off their next purchase.

Why would they receive a poorly written paper to begin with? :)

not associating my domain name with this cesspool

I must say you feel pretty comfortable in this cesspool.

It appears some of these posters spam their essay writing websites because the URL may appear in RSS feed or Twitter; I hope it will be corrected and no URLs will be posted there so that there's no incentive for them to spam even more.

Writers from some countries can surely be creative. You're probably right; this writer's goal was to impress you with the trial pages so that you feel more comfortable paying the rest. It's still strange though because the best dissertation services usually charge more than freelancers; in result, I doubt this writer would order the rest from a writing agency. He'd probably not bother ;).

client doesn't pay for a portion of the essay

I wonder if the client hasn't paid for the paper at all (ie. you sent the paper before it was paid) or he/she paid but later lied about the transaction?

It must be a scammer from Kenya (they may work in herds; I'm sure they are reading this thread right now). They prey on naive students and writers.

The best advice is to avoid them completely (thumbs up to the EssayChat team for introducing the country flags). If you give them even a small piece of information, they may use it against you.

Btw. There's yet another trick against freelance writers and research companies they resort to; they send fake invoices and hope that nobody notices and pays them.

It seems you like to school others. Your username points to these threads, for example:

thelovelogic.com/forum/showthread.php?2362-He-won-t-delete-is-dating-profile

or

conversation.which.co.uk/technology/amazon-prime-lovefilm-price-rise-film-streaming/

"Absolutely appalling Amazon. I cannot believe they have taken Love Film, which was splendid and had a great many good movies to watch for your £5.99 a month and have created something utterly useless, like a re-runs channel!"

It was Amazon's business decision to increase the price for the service and that was enough for you to libel them. The story repeats itself.

"Why is there no way of contacting the alibaba complaint staff? I have provided photos as asked over three weeks ago and nobody has responded!"

resources.alibaba.com/topic/801129305/Refund_problem_in_aliexpress_47_days_still_no_money_refunded_.htm?va=0&page=7

-------

Besides, I doubt it requires an username and password to login to the system. When I have time I may post a proof here.

The complaint isn't even visible, I assume that's because it is ongoing.

So how can you see the complaint? Do you have to login to see it? If not, then the information is public.

Besides, you appear to play by the rules but the fact you ignored this forum's rule:

Note: spamming, advertisements, or solicitations that may lead to a financial transaction is a violation of the forum rules.

and tried to solicit other members makes it all confusing.

they simply refunded me and essentially told me to "shove" off

So your problem is that they refunded you because they were unable to complete it before your rush deadline? Did you file a complaint before or after they refunded you? If after, then it only confirms my initial thoughts. I've worked with several customers like you and no matter what was done, they'd still manage to turn gold into sh$t.. That's their nature and they have to personally deal with it.

Wow... (I'm sure writers and other services will appreciate this info; some customers are destined for the most patient or the most advantageous ones ;).

Could you post the paper written by CustomPapers here so that we could review it and add more comments?

General Talk / CaNexus or Dr. EVE is a scam [12]

we're just told to submit our essays through the Turnitin portal and it checks our work and gives us a report.

I wonder if Turnitin is able to tell that the work was written by UKEssays or CustomPapers or whatever other service a student may use?

They don't owe you any money and simply because you don't like the way they do business you call them frauds? How about calling all your competitors 'frauds' by default. You're starting on the wrong side of tracks..

free title page, free executive summary, and free references.

I'd add: free bandwidth for file uploads and free email delivery.

By the first draft i only meant like 10% work of your complete assignment.

10% work != 'first draft'

Still, how much would you pay writers who completed the 'first draft' but it was not likable to the student?

The answer is here: en.writecheck.com/faq/. WriteCheck is designed for students and shows potential plagiarism score while TurnItIn is for instructors and shows the actual plagiarism matching sources. Both share the same database of documents.

The point of the question was - is it okay for a student to demand a refund for a custom-written essay for a frivolous reason. I don't think the name of the service or the freelance writer who has actually completed the order should matter here.

If you were a writer who delivered a 20-page paper and the student said he didn't like your writing style, would you be willing to refund him the money?

John Doe should have known that he had ordered a custom essay which would be of no use to other clients. If he tries to do a chargeback, the writer has the right to make sure his/her copyrighted paper will not be used by the student without a written authorization. That's the only reasonable and working way of protecting the writer.

What essay site?

Does it matter?

Intention doesn't mean anything when it comes to penalizing a student for academic misconduct. There are some pranksters who would be able to falsify intention with a fake 'proof,' but unless you have actually been caught red-handed, you should be alright.

others demand much more from me because I'm white

Tip - don't reveal to your clients the color of your skin or ethnicity because you may experience the same ;) But seriously, you're right that having a college degree isn't worth as much as it used to.

You will never post anything without a self-promoting focus, will you..

To be fair to the OP, you didn't originally suggest that the way to test one of those advertising sites was to place "100 orders" to identify 1 decent writer at the company being tested.

.. because I assumed he was not so clueless about how commercial academic paper services work ..

He's right that there's something suspicious about why that essay would be removed from the thread on an anti-scam site and without any explanation of how it violated the forum TOS

.. hint - the most likely reason could be to prevent search engines from classifying the posted content as duplicate ..

continuing to sell ad space to any company that lies about its location or that provides low-quality work

.. you have almost completed a law school, have you. If so, do you really think that denying ad space to services that may or may not be 'fraudulent' would hold any water in a court of law when it comes to anti-competitive practices? Imagine tomorrow some student posts that you have written a sub-standard or biased piece of work and in result you are a fraudster. And after that you try to buy advertising here and receive a reply from admin: "Sorry, but some student has recently said you were a scammer; consequently, you are not allowed to buy advertising here." What would be your response?

Major, why are you saying that your own test is worthless?

You FAILED the test because you didn't know that all writing services work with independent freelance writers and a writing service is as strong as its weakest link (ie. their weakest writer). You wrongly assumed that the same writer would work on 100 different orders (when in fact it could happen that 100 orders are completed by 100 different writers). The writer who completed your order could be their strongest one, but you will never find out until you place 30 or more orders. In result, your test was pretty much worthless.

You're arguing about the capital of Switzerland, but you have no idea on which continent it is.

So you still don't think it is fair for me to expose a scam essay on EssayScam.

You're not a defrauded student. Imagine you came here to attend a job fair. There are 100 of writing services competing for the same job. In order to impress your potential employers, you thought it would be an excellent idea to pick on the less eloquent guys. Instead of focusing on your abilities and accomplishments, you chose to attack the weaker candidates. Unfortunately, it backfired; employers don't want to hire you because it would be too risky for them to work with a selfish hothead.
