Grandessays.com is now known as essaymills.com Same runners, new name. Are the writers getting paid? I really doubt it. The name change is most likely related to the fact that their unpaid writers were all over the wet, moaning about the nonpayment of their fees. The most likely scenario is that the students endedup with undelivered, but fully paid orders. The company was slammed on both sides leading to only one solution for the owners - a name change. It is unfortunate that aside from the name change, no positive changes followed for the writers or the students. Students, be warned.

The writers that work for these companies do not realize that they are being scammed. They believe that by continuing to work for free, they will eventually get paid. That is never what happens. The company might decide to pay a fraction of what is owed to them, eventually, but they will never receive the full amount. The company will always keep a part of the salary in hold because they know that if they pay the writers in full, the writer is most likely going to leave. While there are other new writers who will take their place, these writers are normally better clued into the system and refuse to work after one missed payment schedule. Why are they better clued in? They have already read this forum and know that they are working with risks for the company. They are willing to give the company a chance since these writers are more comfortable working for a company than working alone. They are willing to suffer the consequences of their wrong decisions for a period of time. They will not stay for as long as the OP has though, who was hoping to get paid in full by complaining about the company in public. Guess what? It did not work !

Someone payed a question about how to sue the company from the U.S. I do not think that is possible. As far as I know, the lawsuit must be filed in the country where the crime was committed. So he would need to get a local lawyer and pay the legal fees in the Philippines. It would cost to much to sue the company at its businesses location. Just consider it a nightmare and remember the lesson. Also, keep track of its company portfolio and never deal with any of their businesses as best as you can. There are just some legal loopholes that are difficult to overcome for us common folk.

Fyi, there is no global database for academic papers. That's just part of the scam they are trying to run. They use that phantom database all the time. When asked what database that is, they mention some made up names for the database. Pressed further, they claim it is their company plagiarism database. What a laugh! They do not even know what a global database is and how it works. Do not fall for their threats. Ignore them long enough and they will move on to the next prey.

Here is another tip, if you choose to hire a company writer, which I do not suggest, then never use the same company more than twice. That is the number of maximum times you will get a good paper out of them.

Kaspersky isn't really a very reliable antivurus software. It fails to do real time monitoring and updating of its virus listings. It is always a late comer to the game so I would not be surprised that it would be returning a false positive reading in certain instances. However, the way the virus is presented in this case, it appears to be an infection in the system of the user. A malware that is triggered by certain site url's. It is more than likely that the report is actually a photoshopped image from a competitor who is trying to dissuade users from proceeding to a website. It is not an uncommon competitive practice. Also, since most warnings come with a "report to admin" warning, it made no sense for the OP to post the image here rather than following the instructions for virus detection and removal. That warning is missing from both images provided, making it ever clearer that the images were put together for a more devious purpose. The image does not contain the correct warning messages and starting procedures to contain the malware or virus.

General Talk / Original papers or not? [29]

I wonder if you have ever come across a case where the paper of the student is composed of nothing but cut and paste information, with properly cited text, then they ask you polish the essay under proofreading services? I have had to deal with students who seem to think that simply citing sources throughout the paper passes for an original presentation. I keep telling them that they have to at least explain their understanding of the text and somehow relate it to previously related written material in their paper before it can pass as even "original" text or discussion presentations. I end up asking them if they paid for the paper they are asking me to rework for them because the whole presentation reeks of haphazard ESL work. Most of them insist that the work is original but I really doubt that. Some of them even kick off the research paper with in-text citation and no thesis statements these days. Making it ever more difficult to fix the presentation, and further adding to my questions about the originality of their paper. Sometimes, I have to tell them that if they submit the paper as is, a plagiarism checker is going to come back with at least a 75% plagiarism reading and the professor will either fail the paper or, ask them to rewrite it.

General Talk / Original papers or not? [29]

How do you know it is an original paper? You don't. With the exception of Freelancewriter who takes pains to ensure the originality of the paper he submits to the student, everyone else must remain suspect. Sure checking the originality using plagiarism software helps, but not all the time. Those that hold your paper in a database could prove to be a problem once the paper is submitted to the professor. There have been times when, an original piece of text is cited several times over in various online locations that the writer wrongfully gets accused of plagiarism. All because he cited the 7th reposting of the information rather than the root source. That is why it is difficult to assess paper originality. ESL writers do not care about originality, they just care about the money. Do not expect them to turn in original papers because they are incapable of doing that.

I am not so sure that companies paying to advertise here would qualify as a "vetted" service. I have not seen any evidence of the site owners actually creating any difference between the scams and the companies that post here. Although the complaints about the companies that are highlighted in this forum are few and far between, that does not erase the incidental problems that students have had with some of them, and complained about here. The risk of hiring the service still rests within the client. It is his responsibility to find out for himself if the company or writer is worth taking a chance on. While the screaming advertisement does give the company an edge over the other company representatives here, it is important that nobody takes the word of the paid advertisement as truth without verifying it for themselves.

Writers lead lonely work lives. This is a job that is best done alone, not with a team of people or, under the banner of some umbrella group. Freelance writers have the ability to work without the middleman and do not appreciate the suggestion that they need to form a group / company for writers by writers. There is no sense in that. The ability of the writer to perform the task is not based on dictates of a company. Unionization will not help independent writers since they do not have the same problems that a company based writer (who believes he is actually freelancing) has. Company writers are the ones with complaints because they do not control anything when it comes to their client sourcing and income. An independent writer has full control over those specific areas. There is no need for the truly independent writers to join or help form a company that supposedly has the best interest of writers at heart. Independent writers know how to look out for number 1, without any help.

Prior to this company site going down permanently dues to DoS attacks, it was actively using the bait and switch method of dealing with the clients. The bait, was to have the clients trust the company by providing what the client could percieve to be excellent service, only to let that fall apart towards the end. That is when the switch happens. They stop caring about the quality of the work because they knew that the client could be strung along based on the trust that had been built between the company, writer, and client. Something that they used extensively to their advantage. As of now though, the company is unable to come back from its "Access Denied" status. Reason? Unpaid bills? Unpaid writers? Denial of Service attacks? An effort to sell the company? Whatever the reason, it appears we are rid of this company for good.

The OP was right about the writers trying to save their fading image. The company actually had their writer profiles removed from the index. The URL now comes back as page removed. So they asked the company to remove their writer profiles from the system. I do not doubt that this was an action that they decided to take after their cover was blown at this forum. Once they are revealed to be frauds, the students who stumble upon this forum become better armed and, if at the time, they are in contact with the writer or company, can ask the right questions, which makes the scammers uncomfortable. They eventually erase all their tracks since their identities have been fraudulent from the very beginning anyway. It is easier for them to delete the profile and them come back as someone else. After all, it is easy to make up a name, but difficult to attach a positive profile to the name when all you know to do is scam people.

Most of them don't even find this forum until after getting ripped off once or twice, or even three times, first.

This is something that I have been wondering about ever since I came to this forum. The people that own it do not seem to be highly interested in raising the profile of this very helpful gathering place. Almost as if they prefer to keep it a secret for some reason. Running a search for essay company writing site reviews does not bring up this forum. Niether does Essay site review forums turn up ES. At least, not at the top of the search where it should properly be placed. Which is probably why the students do not end up at our doorstep until after several traumatic experiences. Don't you think we should encourage the owners of this forum to work more on its promotion or search engine positioning at least? That way we can help the students, before they end up getting conned.

It is a relief to know that this company has been taken offline. Whatever the reason is, the students should rejoice in the thought that one of the worst essay writing services has finally been stopped from fleecing the students of their hard earn (or parent budgeted) money. I tried to access this website earlier and I just came up with a blank page. There is no error, no domain name warning, nothing. The site just won't load. I can only assume that this is a recent development, which is why the normal notifications are not in place yet. Here's hoping they never come back online in any form.

The average, native English-speaking writer in the American essay industry is more qualified to write-professionally-in the English language for American clients than the average, ESL writer.

The problem, is that the students value the cost over the quality of the work. Which is why they tend to go with the ESL writers, consciously knowing that the work quality they will recieve will definitely be of an inferior quality. These clients tend to ask "how much?" Then, when they hear the cost of ordering a paper from a legitimate ENL writer, they never follow up on their inquiry. They believe that if they cannot afford the cost, then they should take what they can get from the ESL writer, who comes at a fraction of the cost. Which is why they have no one to blame when they end up in revision hell or unsubmitted papers limbo with the ESL writer. They get what they pay for.

Here we go again. An affiliate who is not afraid to announce that he is connected with some of the biggest negative rating, client relationship problem riddled, and student information mining companies on the web. The only thing that can be trusted to true in the claims your company makes is that:

Our essay writers are hailing from different cultural and educational backgrounds

It will be difficult to trust that your writers can properly complete a college level paper though as these different cultural and educational backgrounds mean they are not ENL writers, which is what a typical, average student looks for in an academic writer.

None of the writers in your employ could be UK based if we are to assess your writing staff abilities on the list of your member companies. Which by the way, you used as SEO triggers in the incorrect format so any student here will know that they should not even inquire about your company services.

Yes, I understand why you may some doubts about my statement and explanation. It is mind-boggling the stupidity of some people who work in this industry. Mostly, these are newbies who think that have to just write any paper. They understand nothing about the job requirements, the actual skills involved, and the client satisfaction that is needed to gain a client base.

You have delievered a clear explanation of how the deadline system works and what the flexible work schedule means. I applaud your professionalism and your ability to meet the client deadlines at all times. However, these up and coming writers have no idea about these sorts of things. Mostly because they are only looking for a quick way to make a buck, and essay or academic writing is the quickest way they can think to do that. Mostly because the third rate writing companies intentionally make the work demands and writer skill requirements vague.

I do not blame the writers for their confusion about the flexible work schedule. Most of these companies do not do an actual or oral interview where the work requirements are spelled out. They just hire the writers in the same way McDonald's makes their burgers. Low prices with little to no uniform quality standards for their burgers. The companies are in it for the cheap fix but huge profit, so they could care less what their writer's actual understanding of the job is.
noted
Dec 26, 2021

Believe it or not, there are some writers who believe that it is the student's deadline that is movable, rather than the work hours of the writer. Since that was not specified in the company ad, the third world writers tend to think in the former way. They can move the student's deadline. Which is why they keep asking fo deadline extensions, change of deadlines, or deadline allowances. It is almost impossible to explain to them that they misunderstood what "flexible work schedules" means. When they realize that they will not get a movable deadline, they tend to get into a very cross mood. They end up reassigning the order in the process. That is why I believe that the deadline portion needs to be spelled out along with the "flexible work schedule" reference.

When a company claims to be based anywhere the student needs to spend some time actually verifying the location. These can be done through a simple Google Earth search, for accuracy purposes, or a phone number location system that will tell you if the phone number is verified as coming from a particular location or not. While this listing may help the students avoid most of the problem sites, without a proper investigation into the location of a company, the client could still go wrong. Also, I agree that this listing needs to be updated. The last time I checked, there were still a few start ups coming from known bad player locations. Some of them may have shut down since the pandemic began, but then again, there are always new questionable players emerging in this game.
noted
Dec 23, 2021

One of the problems I have with this company is that they claim to have a flexibly work schedule. Any writer worth his salt will know that this is not the case. The schedule is dictated by the client, who even tries to get the paper earlier, but never later than the deadline. Any writer who asks for an extension on the deadline knows that it will reflect badly upon his work ethic and the possibility of working again with the same client becomes remote. There is nothing flexible about a writer's work schedule. The deadline is set in stone. Sure you work at your leisure and from wherever you wish to. That is all the work benefit you get from the job. The "flexible" deadline is false. That is the one thing that cannot be changed to benefit the writer.

I could be wrong but, it appears that this well known, problematic, unreliable / untrustworthy company has decided to confuse the potential clients by using several different url's, all of which lead to the same server and pool of ESL writers. The following companies represent the same scam of a business:

essaybay.net
essaybay-usa.com
essaybay.org

While the extension url's may change, the main artery remains the same. Regardless of the number of arteries and names that they come up with, it does not change the fact that it is not a company a decent writer and a logical student would want to deal with.

Phone (and other in-person) "conferencing" is nothing but a marketing mechanism,

That is true. It gives them an air of legitimacy and an anchored office existence. It does not delete the con from the equation. I only mentioned it because of the way the company was using it as a claim in reference to client confidence. I never had an expectation of the company following through on it.

This forum is filled with examples of real-time "chat" logs between customers and company reps and "writers."

Also true. That is why hiring a writer directly is always the best option. I know of times when the middleman actually posed as the writer as well. Just to pretend that there is a communication chain. The writer may or may not get the information the client was having delivered. The companies are difficult to trust. They try to cover up too much when a client starts to make inquiries. Go the direct route instead.
noted
Dec 20, 2021

In my opinion, when a company offers in-person conferencing with a client, they should be held to that guarantee. If the person lives too far then, even during the time of this posting there were already available conference calls available for the writer to choose from. I see no reason why it could not be fulfilled.

Upon review of their website, I found this claim to be unbelievable:

we provide private advice and research to students whose universities are failing to provide them with the tuition and resources they need for success in their degrees.

Huh? So they also double as a university of sorts? They have professors and other academcians on staff to help the students? They do not provide any insight as to how they can accomplish this claim. I would definitely not take their word for it. Specially when they say:

World Class Private Tuition

A tuition is only charged by a school or university, not by a writing service. They are not a registered academic institute and should not be charging such fees. That action is against the law.

I can only assume that the names associated with this and its affiliate websites have gone into a different business direction as of now. The mentioned website in this post has been taken offline. All traces of the website, be it cached or information located in other review sites have been scrubbed. This leads me to believe that something negative and big happened within the business circle. Due to the number of owners, taking a site down usually means the partners had a falling out and investments had to be returned. In such cases, taking down the website becomes an option when no current partner wants to buy out the others. This is the most likely scenario that happened in this case. The owners had nothing positive going for them from the very start.

I have my doubts about the OP actually having received his full salary based on this discussion. The response from the company rep was really evasive. The responses were acceptable but vague. She never agreed that the writer would be getting his full salary, just that he would get paid soon. No specific date either. The writer foolishly believed the promises made. What a newbie. She did not realize she was being taken for a ride. The payment was surely riddled with deductions, but since the account will be deemed settled on the part of the company, there would have been no sense in the writer protesting the amount received. Which is probably why she did not deliver a follow up report. She was too embarassed to admit being strung along after praising the company in ther original post.

I would have stopped working for this company during the first month of non-payment. A 2 week delay is bad enough, but almost 1 year of unpaid wages is simply unacceptable! It leaves a bad taste in my mouth to know that this company is still around and preying on their junior (new) and senior (regular) writers. Both of whom work for them with back wages pending because they hope that by staying on, they will eventually get paid. I have news for them, they will never get paid. The company owners must be laughing at them because they are willing slaves and resigned to the punishments they do not deserve, but get just the same. The poor souls, they just don't know any better.

writers aren't going to do your cover-page for you. a cover page consists of your name, your professor's name, the name of the course, the title, and the date, on a blank piece of paper. your writer is not supposed to have this information

This is true, but often violated by the third rate companies. They are the ones who tend to promise a free cover page with every order. An independent writer knows better than to create the cover page for the student. In fact, the header per page should also be done by the student, not the writer. Why? Consider that the student insists that the writer create the cover page (plus the header). They turn over vital private academic information to the writer, and then complain when the writer blackmails them for some reason. Who was the unthinking individual who did not consider the repercussions of willingly submitting what should be guarded data over to a complete stranger then just met online? When you turn over personal information of any sort, you violate your own privacy rules, all in the name of "convenience". Accept that there are times when you still have to do some work on your ordered paper, all for "data privacy" sake. Cover your butt or take the fire that comes aimed at it.

As I mentioned in the thread previous to this, meta essays has gone offline along with another website owned by the same Pakistani, whose name escapes me at the moment. The name is now unresolvable. So the company itself has gone offline for some reason. It is no longer a notable problem player in the game since the Pakistani owner decided to consolidate his companies under 4 names instead of 6. No worries about this one. Worry about the still existing 4 companies instead. Those are the ones we have to safeguard against student - writer scams.

That fee was definitely illegal. What the companies used to call processing fees were actually overpriced checkbook charges. They were making the writers pay for every piece of check issued, and any error checks they may have accidentally created. They had the writers paying the cost for the full checkbook, and then some. For some reason, they did not want to write the checkbook costs off as an office expense. Luckily, very few companies these days still deal with paper checks when it comes to paying for their writer salaries.

Okay, only 4 out of 6 sites are still active at this point. One has been taken offline with the error name unreachable already. The other, is a site under construction so it may be under new management or, the same management trying out a new interface for the new year. My best guess is the owner of the websites are trying to cut costs in these pandemic times. Taking down the sites that do not make enough dark money to stay active. Or, maybe those 2 sites have the most complaints so taking it down would have been the most logical action to take. The Pakistani and his websites still exist and he continues to play his con on a smaller scale these days.

Neither companies should be trusted. Thei former is an obvious fraud with lies filling every sentence on its page. The latter has been taken offline for a reason. Students need to learn how to identify fraud sites. The simplest way is to not trust any site that gives a 100% guarantee for any service. An honest independent writer will not try to make you believe such lies. Instead, he will tell you what to realistically expect from his service, with no grace assurances. That is the one thing nobody can assure you of. The only assurance that can be given is that your paper will not fail.

You have to come to this site and use the forum properly. The first thing that students do is read the posts and judge, based on the written post of the new member, whether he has what it takes to write their papers or not. You first post did nothing of the sort. It did not sell your skills and this post, is not helping you either. Do not come here, post that you are a writer and wait for the client to come. You have to work on winning over the clients by proving your skills through proper participation in this forum. Prove you have what it takes by showing you have at the very least, the intellect to write a proper self-serving and self-gratifying post at this forum. You cannot just come and say, "i am a writer with skills, hire me!" That is the worst thing you can do and the students will ignore you for doing that.

By the way, students here are always advised never to buy pre-written essays, which your new post implies. You have to read the way the regular members of this forum interact with one another and how they coax people to consider their services, without being so blatant about it. I am surprised the mods have not suspended your account due to direct solicitation violations at this point.

That is not how how it works here. You need to present some sort of proof that you actually write well. That sentence is tremendously basic and does not prove any writing skill beyond basic ESL skills. I am guessing that is your target market right? typically, we just took orders off the board and submitted them by their deadline according to all of the specifications in the order.

The system that I used in the past required me to send the client a notification that the order instructions had to be confirmed upon my acceptance of the order. I could not begin work until that clearance and any instruction updates were recieved because the person at the back end would not release the upload button untilt he client complied with the requirements. The company said this was set into place to avoid the need to revise the submitted work as little as possible. The clients usually received a reminder phone call within 24 hours of non-response to the instruction confirmation email.

Customers sometimes tried to under-pay by adding information

Yup. That was really a great way of undercutting our fees. So it got to the point where the company allowed the writers to request that the client be billed for extra charges due to additional instructions or changes to the instructions. The orders were then put on hold until the client paid or the deadline expired. It was a useful system that always came in handy.

It properly identified my browser, DuckDuckGo, and claimed my browser was attacking them. A strange claim since DDG is known for protecting its users from attack, not the other way around. My guess is, DDG was banned by the site system because my browser effectively protects its users from website attacks that I may not be conscious of. The more I become familiar with these writing sites, the more I distrust them. I sincerely doubt this company has been under maintenance for this long. It has been taken down by the owners for one reason alone, they were caught illegally data mining. That is what the warning page I received was all about.

If he did, he would have known that the company has long been out of business and the domain name is currently owned by some company known as edoms.com. This company is in the business of snapping up out of use urls / domain names, then selling it at atrociously high prices. They are kind of like professional squatters in the domain name industry. They but the name and resell it for unreasonable amounts of money, usually in the thousands of dollars. I would not be surprised if they used to run the writing company as well but, the company background makes that seem unlikely at this point. Anyway, the company is out of business so there is no sense in making claims about their work quality. I hope that next time, Cite does his homework before adding useless comments to a post.
