@noted

I agree with you. I have found that AI can actually generate a good enough "lead" paper for me to follow when writing my own research paper or essay. It gives me enough of a basic understanding of the topic that was given for my assignment and how I can approach writing it. That has saved me a bundle since I no longer had to pay for sample papers from studentshare.net. Yes, I will admit to having been a regular client of theirs in the past, before I learned about the benefits of AI when it comes to helping me complete my coursework and assignments.

I think that some writers just do not know how to sell their skills to the students. Some of them know how to write, but do not know how to negotiate their prices, which is why they do not earn enough from the writing job to keep themselves afloat. It is not easy to sell yourself as a writer in the age of AI. However, there are still some students, like me, who prefer to deal with human writers as needed. The writers need to know what the mid range price per order should be for specific papers. If they charge the mid-rate, then they will probably get the order from the client.

Well, I have found that getting a physical address for the company, even if it is a PO box address can be the best way of tracing the location of the company. They often publish their locations on their pages, which can easily be verified by a simple Maps direction request. If it leads to nowhere, which some company addresses do, then you know the company is a scam. My classmate once looked up a company address that came back as the location for a mom and pop restaurant a few miles from where my friend lived.

@noted Can you suggest a writer from that company that us students could probably try out? I've heard good things from my classmates about CustomPapers but I am weary about trying them out after having been burned by writing companies in the past. You seem to speak so highly of the company. Can you explain to us how you gained the information that you shared with us? Do you own the company? Are you a company representative in disguise?

It is difficult for us students to hold these writing companies accountable for their actions based upon their terms of service. Most of them just put that on their website to make it appear like they are easy to talk to. I have had classmates who lost thousands of dollars to these scam companies. They are very fond of using the bait and switch game on us students. Which is why I try not to use a writing company when I absolutely have to outsource my papers. I do not trust these published TOS since we all know that these writing companies are not even legitimate businesses in the countries where they claim to be located. So they are not bound by any law to comply with their published TOS.

How about websites or writing companies and writers that peers have successfully used in the past? Do you think that word of mouth recommendation can be trusted when it comes to writer and service reputation? This would be similar to a personal vouching for the person or business. Do you think that they can be trusted to deliver as expected then? Or is there something I am missing here? What have I failed to consider?

When I do hire a human writer for my papers, I ask him to send me a sample of his written work in the subject that I need him to write for me. This is usually enough evidence for me to decide whether to hire him or not. I have not had any problems using this method to assess the writers that I used to hire. I am not sure that this method still applies today though. I mean, the writer could just as easily use AI to write my paper while demanding that I pay in full upfront. How can we tell that the writer did not use AI to complete the paper we are paying for these days? Does any body know?

Thank you for clarifying this point for us students @noted. I did not realize that it is alright to hire a writing service, since that is an act that cannot be considered plagiarism, but it is not okay for the company writer to turn in a plagiarized paper to me, as the client. So, I guess that my habit of rewriting the paid paper in its entirety is something that has protected me from plagiarism problems all this time.

You never know when a supposedly helpful website is actually trying to gain your confidence so that they can defraud you once you place an order. I am very cautious about that and when I saw that the company was actually trying to get me to sign up for their services, I decided there and then that they cannot be trusted. They tried to fool me into believing that they cared about protecting me from engaging with bad companies and writers, when all they really wanted was to push their services. That says a lot about their integrity in my opinion.

My university has its own plagiarism detection software that all the professors and student body uses to detect or avoid plagiarism accusations. It is free to use for the students and teachers since it was developed by our in-house IT people. I am not sure how effective it is when it comes to detecting plagiarism but it seems to serve the purpose for now. Nobody wants to for out for a plagiarism detector app right? So I am glad that my school offers this service for free.

@Julzapo I know right? I have professors that are sticklers for writing quality and use software to detect plagiarism and AI aspects of the paper. I have been lucky so far in that my ability to edit the paper to give it my natural voice, even when the paper is written by an AI has helped me avoid detection by my teachers. I guess students need to know how to use the tech to our advantage because we know the system better than our teachers ever will.

Which AI writing app has the built in detection tool?

I am also interested in finding out which AI has the detection tool. That would be most helpful when I ask the AI to double check the paper for any plagiarized content. I still prefer to write the paper on my own and have the AI clean it up whenever possible but, AI plagiarism is a definite fear that I have. I have been using Google Gemini to develop sample papers lately as I feel confident that there is less chance of plagiarism there because it offers links to information sources. I hope I am on the right track.

Well, my classmates believe that they can hire more reliable professionals via the social media pages because the feedback is instantaneous when it comes to the service being provided. Also. there is the protection that is offered by the social media sites with regards to their business page partners. When a social media based website violates the trust of the student, the student can report the offender to the proper social media business authorities, knowing that a proper investigation will take place and, that the offending party will see his social media page shut down once proven guilty. I think that is the main reason why the students tend to trust the social media based academic writing businesses in the New Age of Academic Writing.

I prefer to work with freelancers who have a proven track record in the field. I find their prices to be more reasonable and, they are easier to talk to because there is no middleman in the deal. Oftentimes, they come up with bargain prices that make me consider hiring them, but then I remember that even reliable freelancers can be tempted to not complete a paper, refuse to do edits, or use my information against me by blackmailing me in the future. These are the concerns that keep me away from hiring independent academic writers these days.

As a student, I have come to realize that the overwhelming work that is given to me in each subject has a purpose. It is supposed to help prepare me for the actual workforce. So I have to use this training ground as the basis for the development of my time management skills. I appreciate the feeling of being overwhelmed by academic work because I know that it can be worse in the real world. Therefore, I need to learn how to juggle stuff successfully in this controlled environment so that I will know how to handle the work pressure once I graduate and get a job. While I can understand why some students would look for academic assistance while in college, I do not believe that hiring an assistant would actually help them gain potential real world experience that would be useful to them in the future.

Essay Services / Essay Pro Scammed Me [5]

Now that is an expensive lesson for you. I was like that too in the past. It took a few scam experiences before I learned how to properly look into a writing company to avoid getting scammed. I also learned, that in a pinch, I can use AI to write the paper for me, then hire a writer directly, to edit and revise the content as needed. There are a lot of writing companies advertising on FB these days. Ignore those. Look for the independent writers who advertise their services. They are usually on the level, honor the contract, and are sticklers for constant communication. They do not get irked if you keep following up on the paper you ordered and some of them, throw in a discount for a 2nd order if the first order proceeded without a problem.

My FB feed is overflowing with advertisements for student writing assistant AI from various companies. I am wondering if these apps are useful to students? I mean personally, I would rather hire a human writer, then AI the heck out of that, even though that method has limitations. I've already paid for the use of 2 writing apps because I am dissatisfied with their products.

The AI writing app also has additional costs. Once you pay for the basic service, the app tries to get you to subscribe to additional services. Which I hate because I paid for the app already, why do I need to pay extra? Shouldn't those come with the service? Also, why doesn't the AI app come with revision options? The work that is produced needs improvement every time, and I have to do it myself.

Am I wasting my time paying for these writing apps just so I can test it till I find the right one?

I always assume that I will receive a bad paper. Even when I receive a good paper I never submit it as it was sent to me. I always change up the paper so that I avoid any academic dishonesty charges and I cannot be blackmailed later on as my other classmates had experienced I stick with the advice of the writer or the company when it comes to using the paper.

It is only a source material. It should not be submitted for a grade. While I used to have to paraphrase the content of the paper once I receive it, these days, I let AI revise the paper first, then I change it up a bit more to allow the paper to come across as written by a human. It has worked well for me so far. Has anyone else tried this method of writing their school papers ? How did it work for you?

I have to disagree with noted about AI having limited plagiarism in student papers. I've had classmates whose work was flagged as plagiarized because the source was not properly cited in the paper. That is the problem with AI. it gives the links to the sources of information, but it has not trained itself to properly cite the source in the paper. Neither does it actually show which parts of the paper were sourced from the material. So the students end up not knowing how to avoid plagiarized content. They won't bother to read every link that the AI provides. I find that it is better to use the plagiarism checker to double check the AI sources. It makes it easier for me to insert the correct citation in the page.

Thank you for sharing this information. I find it very helpful that there are people who give us comprehensive information about why we should avoid these companies.

I know what to look for now when I am choosing a writing company. Or maybe I will go the safer router and just an AI write the paper for me..

Anyway, I never thought that these review sites are fakes. I always thought they had the best interests of the students in mind. I hope that this information can help me find a reliable academic writing company and a trustworthy human writer in the future.

PaperRater.com claims to be a plagiarism checker that helps students avoid plagiarism claims but in reality, it is just a botched AI program. How can I say this? Well, my teacher asked our class to submit our papers via this website so that we can include the paper checker information for free when we submit our work. I noticed that it flagged a particular phrase, "Nothing could be further from the truth", as being plagiarized from a blog site. It asked me to properly reference the phrase to avoid plagiarism deductions. Huh? I mean, what? Since when did an idiom need to be referenced? Does that make sense to anybody here? I submitted my paper to my teacher without referencing that phrase and he did not seem to have any problem with it. So why did the program flag it then?

Any other active writers at this forum? Or should I just get the app to write my paper?

I am a currently enrolled college freshman whose academic writing responsibilities overlap with my professional work time. I know. most of you will say that I should just adjust my after work activities to provide time to complete my school papers. The problem is, doing that would mean losing my work-school-private life balance. I was thinking of looking for an academic writer to work with at this forum but it appears that there are only 2 active professional users at this forum, leaving me with very little choice in terms of writers. Can anybody here tell me about their experience with these people? I don't mean refer me to previous threads for evidence of quality, I mean more recent users who are satisfied with their services. Are they any good or, should I opt to use an AI writer instead since there are a lot of apps out there to choose from.
