Beware. The scam companies have already taken to spamming social media accounts as a part of the solicitation campaigns. They are on the lookout for students who tend to discuss class work on their social media accounts, sending out emails offering their services at discounted prices. Do not fall for it. This company is one of the companies that have taken to doing that. They have not been able to hook any students yet. I think that is because they are highly popular as a scam and, they appear highly in the search engines as a part of the DND list of ES. So I guess students get warned off before it is too late.

I wonder if the OP tried to contact the writer during the paper development process. I normally ask my writers to stay in touch with the client up to the last minute of their writing the paper. Make sure that the work you are doing is up to the client's standards. More importantly, ask the client to check your work midway to ensure you are on the same page. It seems to me that the service the client signed up for did not even have a PM system for their writers, which is why the paper was a big mess to begin with. If the writer doesn't contact the client within 24 hour to confirm instructions and give updates, the client is well within their rights to cancel the order. They should never risk getting a piece of trash that they cannot refund.

Dissertationexpert is a scam site run by fake people and little educated writers. They can only produce trash papers composed of fully plagiarized content. They do not even bother to try and write a coherent piece, they just go all over the internet using keywords, taking bits and pieces from the work of other people until they meet the word count required by the student. It doesn't even matter to them if the paper is coherent or not. They do read the paper before uploading it to the server for the student anyway. Then they refuse to refund the students when they demand their money back for such a crappy piece of toilet room reading.

Under pandemic circumstances, the essay writing companies are really struggling. The sudden closure of schools, change of classroom teaching circumstances, and the ability of parents to truly monitor their children's homework have changed the game. While there are some parents who may support their children's desire to hire an essay writer, most parents do not allow it because of the current income problem of families. They really push the kids to to the work themselves. This leads the companies to diversity as @Smiley73 indicated. I have heard of several writing firms that had to release a serious number of their on - call writers due to lack of orders. Independent writers may fair much better in this market. They can write for any channel and demand a price that will represent what they need to make a month, translating into a noticeably good year of earning for them just the same. Now is not the time to be a company writer. The company will be lucky to clear 50K this year, if they earn anything at all.

I employ a third party to help remit the payments that I send out to my writers. They receive their payment on time, every time. However, there are some gray area writing companies that hire an accountant and a third party payment arm to help them delay the payments to their writers. This is done by companies that want to get writers to work for free. They pretend that the money is delayed on the remitting arm so as not to admit that the owner of the company spent all the money and has to wait for the next round of clients to con so that he might be able to pay a few of his writers on a delayed basis. I am really sad that this happened to the OP, regardless of his English writing skills, he deserves to be paid for work completed, specially if the client did not file a refund claim with the company or anything like that.

The guy to whom you're responding hasn't posted here in more than 4 years.

The age of the post is not important. What is important is that the attention of the students will be called with regards to the literacy discussion in relation to the academic writing industry. I really do not see what is wrong with reviving old threads. In this case, with the pandemic locking everyone down per country, this information will make for good reading, consideration, and discussion among students who are thinking of a way around the learn from home set up that most countries are implementing. It can help them learn the basics of screening their writers, if this semester will be the first time that they will be using an academic writer. There is no such thing as a dead discussion. All discussions can be revived at any given time, for any given reason that you do not have to agree with.

It is always pleasing to read a positive review here are ES. Sometimes, the negative reviews can get on the nerves of both the writers and the students. It makes the forum appear to be nothing more than a flaming discussion board. Knowing that a student had a positive relationship with one writing company helps to show the other students that there are sites out there that can be trusted to deliver. Not all the sites are scam sites. However, that is not to say that they should not be careful in assessing the company or writer one wishes to hire. Extra precaution is still required since not all the students will have the same writing experience with the writing companies or independent writers.

Essay Services / Is "ownessays.com" a scam? [7]

It appears that the site has come back online. It is registered with a UK business registration address BUT a US IP server. The address actually pings all over the place, so they are really masking their tracks. Only a company with a lot to hide and too much to lose would go through this complicated type of bother to mislead students. I am guessing the company is under new management, and is back in the business of scamming unsuspecting students.

So, how did this story end? I bet it ended the same as other stories. The client eventually gave up and either tried to do an unsuccessful charge back or, the person just gave up altogether and considered it a nightmare of an experience. Either way, this client got conned big time. I have heard of similar horror stories from AllWritingSource that has a different ending. The "company" eventually blocks the email address of the student, leading to a mailer daemon response and one very angry client.

Essay Services / edubirdie.com any opinions? [35]

The company has a PO box address listed in Denver, Colorado. A PO box. Use of such an address tells me the company has something to hide. The IP address tied to it doesn't make sense. Everything about the company is too masked for it to be a legally registered US or UK based company. It claims a UK location via its url name, but has a US post box address. It has operators that do not speak English fluently. The company is intentionally misleading the (potential) client. When a company is this confusing to locate, it would be better to stay away from their company and their writers.

I am really beginning to wonder why the students here tend to ask for recommendations in one way, shape, or form, when all they have to do is contact any of the writers here directly. I mean seriously, If you are here, you have perused enough of the boards, and you can see the banners for reliable writing companies above, why are you still asking for recommendations? Just ask one of the writers here or use the links to interview trustworthy writing companies. Stop wasting your time waiting for recommendations that will never come. If time is of the essence with your project, then go directly to the source.

I am just wondering if any student actually fell for this hyperbole of a claim. No company in their right mind would make such a refund claim. Much less assign such a refund claim to the poor writer. It sounds to me like the company was simply daring the future client to sue the company first to prove the plagiarism claim. If any student actually fell for this scam and ended up with a bum paper, all I can say is "you asked for it". Never trust a company that makes super exaggerated refund claims. If it sounds too good to be true, you can that it is nothing more than a printed LIE !

There is another option that @WriteReview failed to consider. That is, the owner probably sold the company to another, who decided to change the name of the company to completely avoid any problems that the previous owner had with her clients. The name change would also help the new owner start over, using only the same server and stable of writers, but not being identified as CriticalProof. I think that this is the stronger possibility when compared to personal reasons or going off to work for someone else. Why would someone who already owns a business want to shut it down to work for another? That doesn't make any sense.

I think the price of the writer should have tipped off the OP. It is too cheap, even for a long term, no reference paper. An article or blog costs way more than what the OP paid. The price range that was involved this time is too 3rd world in costing. It should have been a red flag. I guess she needed to hire a writer badly. Which is why she decided to try this service out. Cautionary tales always seem to end with the writer ending up being horribly cheated by the writer or a series of writers. Next time, know better. If it sounds too cheap, do not hire the writer. No writer who is truly worth the money will price his skills so low.

Several of these companies have migrated from twitter to other social media channels. They haven't even bothered to update their Facebook page in ages. The same goes for their Twitter accounts. It appears that they have realized the clampdown on false identities and misrepresentations on Twitter is in full swing and they would be shut down if they continued to prey on students through that channel. So they moved to other channels, mostly Russian and Chinese social media platforms, since most of their students will come from those ESL countries anyway.

I agree that the writers should be based on 2 criteria: (1) The seniority of the writer at the company and (2) the number of repeat clients that the writer has brought in . The value of the writer can be seen in the way that the company pays him fairly, based upon his skills and client base. It is important to slowly double the rate of the writer over time, based upon the client reviews and QAD observations. A writer who gets a better CPP over time will tend to be loyal to the company and produce better work for his regular and new clients.

With the educational system of the world currently in disarray, even the writing companies are not sure about how the industry will manage to ride out and survive this pandemic. The young people are normally being locked at home, attending alternative class methods. By quarantining our client base, the pandemic has effectively made it possible for students to actually write their own papers. Since they don't have anything better to do with their lock-down time. So maybe this psychological portrait has been rendered useless. Since the business model that the review was based on ended up being thrown out the window because of Covid-19.

Well, no company rep showed up to dispel the intensive investigation presentation. So I guess they decided it would be more advantageous to them to simply let this thread die a natural death. Perhaps they adhere to the "The best defense is no defense" way of thinking. Sadly, I came along to revive this thread, which means, the investigation results dissemination continues. More students will be made conscious of the way they can be duped by the Russian writing companies and, they will be thankful that the thread came to life again, before they could make a mistake by hiring this company and others they may have been considering. After all.they would not have known actual location of the company if it had not been published for them to find.

Essay Services / Coding Assignment - Help Please [9]

I do not believe that a company based out of India would be the best company to hire for such a delicate task. You should be hiring only direct writers in this case. Those who can work with you directly instead of passing through a middle-man. How else can you be sure to get the work in real-time? Company writers who deal with code are usually distracted due to other order deadlines or revisions so they will not be able to provide a client with the high quality coding job that he deserves.

Vetting the actual location of a company, based on its IP address should help any writer applicant determine if the company will be able to fulfill their obligations to the writer or not. If you see that the company is based outside of the UK, USA, or Australia / Canada, then you can bet the company isn't going to provide you with a fair employment deal. Those companies located in Middle Europe are the biggest salary offenders. It would be better to avoid them at all costs. Don't just apply at a company, check out their information first. You can even ask the forum users for their opinion of a specific company if you feel that your search results aren't sufficient. Just make sure you don't sound like you are doing a veiled promotion for the site because you will be pounced on for veiled advertising.

Essay Services / Legit Essay Writing services. [26]

What seems to be evident these days is that the legit writing services are winning the contest. The Covid - 19 pandemic has proven to be the great business leveler at this point. With the legitimate companies being better placed to stay financially stable during these times. The third world companies are struggling to keep their writers in line and their cash flow intact because their payments are not easily processed these days. Not to mention, the writers are demanding higher wages, with some of them simply going on strike to receive what they perceive to be equal pay for themselves, which are still pennies for the illegitimate companies, yet they refuse to adjust the salaries of their writers.

A competent writer will be able to complete a 10 page paper within a limited number of hours. a 24 hour turn around is still too long for most writers who are used to having crunch time deadlines. You don't have to worry about the quality of the work provided you get a truly good writer to work on your paper. The real question you should be asking is; "Is it possible to find a competent writer within a short period of time if I have a 24 hour deadline ?" Remember, you are the one who has a 24 hour deadline and I am assuming that includes the time required to find either a writing company or an independent writer to take on your order.

Writing Careers / Writers: What do you say? [150]

When someone asks me what I do for a living, I simply tell them that I make an honest living that pays my bills. I have never been comfortable with using my work description as a conversation starter anywhere. How I make my money and what I do for a living is none of their business. I don't owe them any money so I don't owe them an explanation regarding my job. Neither will I be borrowing money from these people so they can just mind their own business and leave me with the job that has so far proven to be pandemic proof and recession free for me.

You could hire a writer directly at this forum if all you want is a model paper. Any writer here can do a better job than a company affiliated writer, who will most likely be an ESL writer. You stand to gain more benefits from hiring an independent writer here for your purpose. You can always rewrite the paper, but wouldn't it be better if you rewrote a paper that is already perfect in its original form? You would be able to revise the content knowing that the original source was already perfect to begin with. So, you won't be able to mess up the paper too much during the rephrasing of the paper.

The site has always been fair based on what I have seen. They do not meddle too much in the posts of the users and they do not delete any posts without reason. Rather, they allow an open flow of discussion. The users are the ones who create the conflict in the threads. The discussions are always based on their personal information and experience, so there is no way that the people who run this forum should be blamed for any comments or reactions that stem from the exchange of ideas between users, writers, and company representatives. They don't have anything to do with that. They do, however, step in when they need to to keep the peace or prevent misrepresentations on the forum.

If you have a specific idea in mind for your income, and you work for a company that runs on a bidding system, then there is a higher likelihood that you will not make the amount you have in mind. The bidding system works in a manner that the lowest bidder gets the job. If you want to make your target amount, then you should work either for a company that does not have a bidding system or, work independently and hope that you have enough clients to meet your financial outlook. There is no foolproof way of making your ideal amount. Not unless you already have a regular client base who will be using you for their papers throughout the academic semester.

These are precisely the reasons why I never approved of students using an online plagiarism or word document checker. The systems have too many loopholes that will be detrimental to the students in more ways than one. Unfortunately, the professors have made students heavily reliant on these online software tools because they can't be bothered to actually do the job they are paid to do. So students do as they are told, never knowing that the professors could possibly accuse them of plagiarism, even if they have not done that. All they did, was unwittingly give Grammarly, or any other free online checker, the right to use their essays and research, in any way they want to.

The youthful tone that most of the writers here choose to maintain has everything to do with gaining their clients. It will be easier for a student to trust a writer who sounds young and up to date as opposed to a writer who sounds serious, businesslike, and older than the client. An independent writer should know how to sound young when required, and older, if need be. It is the only way that a writer can remain competitive in this business. Although the writer is aging in real life, his writer age must remain stagnant / non- determined for as long as he wants to remain working in this business.

The students that come here are looking for reliable companies to work with. They expect to see informative posts regarding the companies that are out there. They are already considering working with a specific company, but they want to be sure that they are making the right choice first. That is why the DND list is very important to the students. That list helps them decide if they want to take a chance with the company or, if they will just consider their second option. If a company feels it has been unfairly placed in the list, then they can appeal it with the owners of the forum. I do not believe that they should be removed from the list based on the idea that they have been unjustly accused. These companies have been accused with evidence most of the time and as such, have no defense for requesting to not be placed on the DND list.

Do not work for UVO. They are one of the worst offenders in the business. They take forever to pay their writers, always paying off backdates, and they always find an excuse to fine their writers. The company is often spoken of in hateful terms by their writers who never last longer than a few months. Oftentimes, the writer just waits for his back wages and then leaves the company, without even delivering a resignation letter.

Last I heard, the TL's of these companies have also been subject to QAD inspections themselves. Apparently, enough writers complained about the scam going on and the companies had to take notice. The writers were starting to refuse to take orders, backing up the server, and causing the company to refund orders. The erring TL's got off with a stern warning and were placed on observation status by the QAD. I still have to find out what happened to the bad TL's. I hope they get fired for their unjust treatment of the writers under their supervision.

You definitely do not want to work for any of the aforementioned academic writing companies. Neither do you want to take your chances applying to work for the new academic writing companies. Those are usually the same scam companies, just under a new name. I agree that the best way to make sure you get paid is by working for yourself. However, you may find it difficult to build a client base from scratch. As far as I know, the writing companies that advertise at this forum can be relied upon to pay their writers fairly and on time. You may want to consider one of them for your application. That is, if they are open to applicants at the moment.

Anti plagiarism software is a waste of time. Some of these software actually flag words such as "the" and "that" in a paragraph, claiming the word is plagiarized. Well, I would like to see someone write an essay without using any conjunctions, verbs, adverbs, etc., which seem to trigger some plagiarism reports. It is an idiotic way of checking the originality of an essay. Eventually, all the sources used will be similar, so how do similar sources translate to plagiarized presentations? Try not to use plagiarism software if you can avoid it. It won't help an honest student get a better grade.

A full refund is not justified if the writer already completed the paper and submitted it to the client. If he was just not satisfied with the paper, but the requirements were met, then the refund should reflect the hard work of the writer. If he chose not to use the paper and wishes to file a refund, I would fight the client every step of the way. Yes, I would make his life a living hell. While he may be successful with his chargeback claim, I will ruin the student in the writing circles. Making sure no company or independent writer would work with him now and in the future.

I tend to pay more attention to my social media promotions these days as the paid advertising method seems to be losing its touch. Most of the clients are using social media for their searches so I focus on developing my profile there most of the time. Actually, some of my word of mouth clients check out my social media sites before hiring me. So I am not sure if they classify as not paid advertising clients or, if they are word of mouth clients. Regardless, I'm just glad to have a steady stream of clients during these uncertain times.

ESL writers who are unfamiliar with the writing standards of the UK, Australia, and the US, just to name a few, should never consider becoming an academic writer. You don't become a freelance writer just because you say you want be one. It takes actual skill to work on these papers. It requires patience and a love of learning. It requires a desire to actually provide a service to a student not just for the salary, but for the advantages this job offers. You can start by familiarizing yourself with the various writing styles. The Purdue Library would be a good place to start. It will help you become familiar with the standard writing requirements of the most commonly used research paper formats.

I never accept CC payments because of the high degree of fraud involved in its use. I normally ask the clients to pay upfront, depositing the cash into my account before their paper is submitted to them. I hold on to the paper until I see the payment clear. They get the paper 24 hours before the submission date. That is because I make sure that I transfer their payment from my business account to my personal account immediately. I do not take any chances. My business account always carries a $0 balance on it. Specifically because I try to avoid the unwarranted chargeback and CC claims.

Without knowing whether this guy was connected with a company at the time or, if he was a direct hire writer, I still have to say that he must be very forgetful. He also doesn't have an efficient billing system or collectibles table. Normally, writers keep track of the direct hire billing, sending the payment link before the paper is begun or before it is submitted. I find it hard to have pity for this fellow. He brought it upon himself. So he did not get paid, I hope he still tried to collect. I am sure the company or the client had the money set aside and were just waiting for a bill. The client probably considered himself lucky. He got a free paper. Hahaha !
