However, if this is a real opportunity, I can't afford not to take it

In this industry, if it sounds too good to be true, then you can bet it is a smokescreen. I hope you did not take the job and lose the perfectly good real job that you had. Companies like these will offer you the moon and the stars, then treat you like they placed you on a rocket ship on a collision course with the sun. Do not fall for these empty promises. These companies are always scamming people to get them to work for them. Perfect bait and switch scam.

This is why you should never use your bank cards for dealing with academic companies online. You unwittingly give your private data to them, for future blackmail use. Since the paper was never used, you don't have to worry. They are not going to do it. The time essential blackmail format has been successfully used over time by these companies because the students always cave. Let the timer end. See what happens. If you see they posted anything about you online, seek legal representation to get it taken down. I have had students come to me with similar problems. The company never actually does it. However, I always ask the student to seek legal representation, just in case.

The person responsible in issuing the refund is not here at the moment when she gets back she will resolve it in your interest.

Total BS ! It doesn't take long to send a refund. As long as it is justified, it should be refunded. The person in charge may be on vacation, but should be on call for these types of emergencies. Or, someone else should be in charge during that time. They don't want to return the money. They are using every excuse they can to stop you from getting the refund. That makes them what? A definite scam !

Did you split the thesis up in 10 chapters and divide it between various writers or did you prefer to work with one writer?

When my company receives an order this large, I personally recommend that the client choose his team of writers from my roster. The client is the default team leader who will have complete and total access to all the writers. He is welcome to form the team and have the writers work on his dissertation as he sees fit. I give the client a week to form his team, using varying rates for the writers depending upon their position at the company. The clients tell me that the method works very well for them because, since the advent of Google Docs, they have been able to supervise, merge, and create a solid looking dissertation that appears to have been written by only one person, the client himself.

The company does not consider itself a scam because they "pay" their writers on time and into their bank accounts. However, I know that they undercut their writers every step of the way. Low pay, lack of orders, and an impossible work approval system are what often send their writers running, even though they "get paid" regularly. The company treats the writers like the slaves that they agree to be. If these were the olden days, they would be fed bread crumbs and water and sing "Manna from heaven!" and thank their abusers profusely.

I was attracted to Essay Council because of the ''free draft'' service that they offer

That service is what I like to call "bait and switch" based on the experience of my other clients. They ask for a draft, get a highly professional sample of work, which then leads to the company being hired. Why is the paper so professional? A professional wrote the paper. Why is the final outcome so bad? A third rate, not even a high school graduate and can barely speak English writer got assigned to the final writing order. Never deal with a company that offers "free draft services". However, ask your independent writer for a sample of his writing. That is more reliable.

The company obviously had no intention of completing the work for the student. The person who referred the student was probably somebody on the shared profits scheme of the company. Which is why he gave a glowing referral for the scumbags. He got his cut of the profits even as his classmate suffered because of his suggestion. If the company refused to refund the payment, I would have gone after my classmate for the refund. Just to be able to harass someone in person for what happened.

I frankly have doubts about this service

If there is something that doesn't look right to you then, it may be best to not follow through on even inquiring about the service. I mean, the gut feeling always says it all. It is our early warning device. If you don't feel like the company is upfront, then it most likely isn't. Don't ever ignore that feeling of uncertainty, it will save you from a lot of problems in the future. Most specially, when dealing with an essay writing company or writer.

What a fool this person is. He did not even realize he made a mistake posing as a student under a professional profile. Then, when he is called on it, he acts as if the mistake was never made. He just killed the business of the writing company. He should be fired, then hire, then fired again. Just to make sure he understands that he has been released from his job. This person does not have a clue, nor any common sense.

320 GBP per day

Nope. Not per page, not per project. Not per, day. Not unless you are planning on scamming your clients based on an unproven track record and lousy writing skills. I know the reason you kept this post short. You do not want to reveal your inadequacies as an academic writer. However, you felt the need to ask the question since you might be able to scam your way through it. Don't do it. Pity your clients. Find some other job you can do. One that does not require you to write, think, or speak in English.

Since the company ranks 29th overall in the list of the top 100 writing sites, the company must be doing something right. At least in terms of client satisfaction. They have an 88.5 satisfaction rating among their clients which means the writers at this company are actually capable of doing the job and doing it right, much to the client's joy. Basing my opinion of the company on their approval rating, I would have to say that the remainder who are "dissatisfied" could very well be competitor sites looking to slander the competition.

These guys make their clients nervous. They are a good enough to use company for an ESL, but they cannot accomplish higher level work for undergraduate and higher level students. Their client contact points are useless for the most part. They do not pick up the phone and have been known to ignore emails. Their writers just do the work without contacting the client. Making the client jittery about the quality and deadline for the paper. Hire this company only if you want to develop stomach ulcers within 24 hours.

So I now paid for 5 pages but it cannot be used? So I lost money? Why a new writer cannot work with existing content and only add new content, is it normal?

This is not a normal practice. My guess is that the writer you hired outsourced the paper writing for the 5 page trial order. Now, you were satisfied and everything but, the writer that he shared profits with, the writer who did the actual writing suddenly became unavailable. Hence the refusal to write 15 more pages. That is the first case scenario that came to mind. The second scenario, is that the writer managed to complete 5 pages. Simple enough. However, he does not have the writing ability and research prowess to actually complete a 20 page paper for you. Which is why he took the money for the 5 pages, but refuses to follow through on the remaining 15 pages. As for hiring another writer, that will be difficult because every writer has his own writing style. You would do better using the 5 pages as a basis for the new writer to completely write the 20 pages on instead.

Custompapers.com should be considered the model academic writing company. They consider the position of their writers, support their writers as best as they can, and always make sure that the writers and clients come away from the deal highly satisfied in both payment costs and quality of the paper. I have yet to come across any writer or client who would complain to the heavens about the company. They are on the level and are easy to talk to. Anybody who says otherwise just wants to put a good company down.

If you could not find any negative reviews online, nor a reference to a scam related to the company on ES, you should have been even more careful in dealing with them. At that point, you should have asked around for specific information either from friends or, by starting your own thread here in ES. Just because there was no thread present at the time you checked, that did not mean that the company was in the clear. Instead, you should have delved deeper into the background of the company. Never consider a company clean until you have exhausted all methods of learning about its true reputation.

Be aware of Contentwritings.com! Fraudsters who can not speak proper English!

That is evident int he way the company representative keeps on posting his advertising blurb, even as he is attacked from all sides because of the stupidity of the post. He keeps on posting, even though it is not helping his company image. It is almost like he is an automaton, following a preset program. So it is obvious that he is clueless about what is going on in the thread. Which means, the writers won't have a clue if they get hired for a task either.

Philippines

Nuff said. They seem to have a knack for creating fictitious companies or dealing in the dark side of the web. Most of the stories that I hear about with writing companies that come out of that country make it sound like the people that run the companies should be in jail. The workers are not paid properly and they do not even have proper work stations. Some of them work out of ill built apartments, with very little ventilation. Working for a writing company out of that company isn't the same as working for a legitimate call center. Why do I know these facts? I have saved a few of these Filipino writers from writing slavery several times and, they are usually very thankful for the help I throw their way. That includes additional language education to help them write properly in UK or US English format, among other things.

I failed the paper too! I am also pretty sure that a non-english speaking writer wrote it

If the signals that tell you the paper is not going to get a passing grade are staring you in the face, do not submit the paper. If you submit it and get a failing grade, then you come here to complain, then all you prove is that you are a sucker for punishment. Always leave at least a 2 day window between the deadline you give the writer and the actual submission date so that you can at the very least, try to get the paper revised or, hire another company or writer to complete the paper properly prior to the deadline.

when you ask for a refund.they blackmail you into not doing anything about it.

Blackmail only works if you do not call their bluff. Do not allow any company to intimidate you into forgetting your refund. It is your right to claim a chargeback or a refund, depending upon how you paid for the paper. If they threaten to blackmail you, then threaten to sue them. Hire a lawyer if only to write a threatening letter to them letting them know that if they do not complete the refund process, you will be filing charges at the appropriate court for coercion, misrepresentation, fraud, and some other cases I am sure a competent lawyer can think of.

For us to verify the data, could you please provide your order ID to manager@assignmentexpert.com and explain the situation you are in?

These company reps always think that they can explain away the incompetency of their writers. It doesn't work that way. You cannot ask a disgruntled client to provide you with order information and then try to fix it after the fact. Unless the end of that inquiry will be a full refund and a public apology for a job badly done, an admission of guilt of sorts, then there is no sense in bothering the client for any order details.

(I paid the full amount)

That, was your biggest mistake. Never pay more than 10% upfront with a writer you have never dealt with before. Only pay up to 25% of the full amount if you are dealing with a writing company. There is always room for problems when using an unknown writer. The questionable factors are just too many for you to feel comfortable paying full price before you get to review the completed paper. Yes, if a writer asks you to pay in full before the paper is completed, you should cancel the order instead. There is something not right about such deals. Only pay in full if, and that is a very big IF you have a positive track record of dealing with that writer. He needs to have written at least a semesters worth of successful papers for you first. At least, that is how I would do it if I were the student.

There are actually more reliable independent firms such as Upwork and linkedIn. Craigslist has been at the bottom of the list for decades now. They never did recover from their slew of bad publicity back in the day. While still in existence, Cragislist has gone the way of eBay, ancient and not really worth the time it takes to keep its server active. I am still wondering why they continue to thrive these days. I mean, who still uses Cragslist?

Somehow, I think that there should be some sort of regulation on the number of domain names that a company, person, or entity should be allowed to purchase. Once there is a limitation on the domain name purchase, that should help to limit the number of umbrella companies under a scam mother corporation. Limiting their access to domain names may also prevent them to continuously scamming the students as their ability to change their company name at the drop of a hat will finally be controlled. There needs to be a series of regulations in place to help protect the consumers in general, not just students, from scam companies that proliferate online.

General Talk / Guess who owns PlagTracker.com [15]

It is not uncommon for these companies to set up various domain names, all leading to the same server in an effort to gain more business for themselves. The students normally fail to track the owners of the service they opt to use, so they never realize that they have just submitted their papers to a company that will keep their work on file, making it highly possible for their original work to get flagged once it is reviewed by the professor for plagiarism. The only way to safely avoid plagiarism, in my opinion, is to not try and track it for plagiarism at all. That way the paper is never submitted to any server, both legitimate and illegitimate, where its existence may pose a problem for the student later on.

'excessive' need for citations

An excessive need to use citations in any paper means you plan to get the paper across to the client merely based on cut and paste, along with other plagiarized content. If and when passed through a plagiarism checker, the paper will turn up a red flag of more than 50% plagiarized content. You never had and will never the ability to write the paper at the level the OP required. That is why the client was rightly concerned with the excessive use of citations in the paper. The OP was right not to work with this writer.

I do not trust any company that lays claim to several office locations across the globe. That means they are not located anywhere in any of those countries. Rather, they bought the information related to their location, phone number, and paid for the company history and other recommended information. There is nothing legal about this company. They are misleading people through their "official locations", which, when verified via Google Maps, leads to nowhere. A bridge to nowhere is never a good sign.

Always assume that the companies online are scammers unless otherwise verified. There is no reason to cite specific websites in the post. It is up to the companies to prove that they are not scammers by being honest with their clients. It is the responsibility of the potential client to verify the credentials of the company or writer through a complete investigation based on web and forum searches. There is no way that only a handful of companies are scams. Based on the list at this forum, almost 80% of them are fake and scam filled.

This company is now "Precision Consulting"

Well, the company learned how to get around the negative reviews problem. They set up a permanent PR department. If you go around the web these days, you will find only glowing reviews for the company. All written by the same person who did not even try to change his writing style so that it would appear that several people wrote the positive reviews. I suspect, no, I believe that the positive reviews were written by Szamor himself.

@lucas84 Nice way to entice a writer to come work for a scammer. You did not even put any thought into that post. You just hoped that the person would be dumber than you are, desperate for a job, and willing to work for anyone who promises to pay. You are not going to get any new writers, both of the amateur and professional kind, with that kind of post. There is nothing enticing about your offer, unless the writer is feeling hopeless already and willing to take a chance on an obvious scam.

I just checked on Google Maps, and it's a residential street.

Google Maps have saved many of my student clients from dealing with scams. Ever since I taught them to check the location of the company before they even consider hiring them, they have been using reverse IP lookups and Google Maps to save themselves the bother of dealing with scams. It is precisely because I am using a legitimate office address, and my company is actually physically located there, that they have come to trust my company and my writers. In fact, I have had some of them come over, pre-pandemic of course, for coffee and snacks. Sometimes we even do lunch.

How much are they paying you.

I was thinking the same thing. Based on the reviews posted here, it appears that the company felt the need to send someone in to defend their "quality" of work. Not that it worked though. All it takes are up to 3 negative reviews, posted publicly, for the company to tank in the eyes of the potential client. They are not inclined to work with a company that has consistently bad reviews, specially when these are all based on claims of plagiarism.

First of all, the forum is not meant to promote personal interests of companies in the business. Second, you should have the common sense to do your own investigation of the already existing writing services and independent writers that have been vetted and openly promoted by the owners of this forum. Lastly, you can depend on this forum to steer you clear of any scam companies and writers based on the already existing reviews and comments here. What you cannot depend on the forum to do for you is to tell you which company or person to hire.

Though this company continues to provide average to excellent work for their clients, there is a problem with it comes to the way that the writers complete the work. I believe they are using ESL writers who do not understand the difference between UK and US English. They use UK English regardless of the type of law paper they are writing. They prefer to write in the UK writing style, even when the client indicates the need for US English. Also, the writers use UK sources, even when the law paper is for US use. For some reason, their clients seem to not care about the legal source material, which tells me that their clients are clueless and ESL. Otherwise, the company would not have gotten such glowing reviews for their obviously problematic paper presentations.

The company actually has a balanced mix of client reviews. The problem, is that I tend to err more on the side of caution so when I see at least 2 negative comments, I tend to shy away from referring any student to that company and, I refuse to hire any writer who applies at my company coming from them. All it takes is one spoiled apple to ruin the bunch. In this business, we can't be too sure about the writers that we hire so we normally ask students to stay away from such companies as well.

require a writer to make a bid to others that lead to very low returns

A variation of this practice makes the writers "bid" without actually placing a price quote. The "bid" is actually just a form of seeing which writers are interested in the order. The idea behind the "bid" is for the client or company HR to select the writer based on his writer information / profile. The one with the most applicable writing experience wins the job. I think that this variation is far more beneficial than using the financial bidding style. If the lowest bidder does not have the qualifications for the project, what good does the lowest quote do the student right?

Not necessarily. These companies have been known to be so inadequate in terms of their writers performance that actions such as simple data gathering could prove to be highly difficult and challenging for them. Most specially when you have to ask them to do specialized research and data gathering, which could be beyond their actual capacity as researchers, if they have any experience as a researcher at all.

Huh? Exactly how does a company function without the Billing Department representative? Who sends out the bills? Who collects the payment? Forget the refund for a moment and you will realize that this company is being run by clowns. Nobody has the power to issue refunds in the absence of the department head? No assistants? Anyway, that is total BS, I personally handle the accounting side of my business but, when I need to be away for some reason, I always assign someone to take my place, in case checks need to be signed or refunds need to be issued. Never heard of it. I think the company did exist for a few months, based on the information I could gather from my sources. Not worth the time it took for them to set up the fake company profile before ditching it.
